The shop owner took in our mower for repairs in September. He did not work on it for several weeks - I believe in total, he didn't touch our mower for about 2 months. In October and then again in November, my father checked in again for updates and there was none. I called to ask what was going on and the owner apologized, saying life stuff came up. No problem, we're all humans and things happen. We speak again in December, and he gives me a new estimate. He had given my father and I very different estimates at different times and when I asked about this, he blamed the discrepancies on my dad's hearing. The estimate went from $140 to $300 and I said we didn't have the money currently (in December) because we had a big bill coming up, but we will come by to pay for the repairs and pick up the mower in a few weeks. March 8, today, we go to pick up the mower only for the owner to tell us he has given it away to scraps because we took too long. I ask him to refund us the $40 and I also asked for our mower again despite being told he has given it away to scraps. He made no attempt to call us, none. He gets angrier and asks me, "what do you want?" "How much do you want?" He offered me $50 to make up for it and I don't accept it - that is not enough to buy a new/used mower. I don't actually know what to do here, but I record the interaction to have as proof. I caught this man lying on my camera phone (he claimed we hadn't spoken in 6 months) and his co-worker is just as unhelpful, saying, "she's recording illegally!" I'm recording because this man CANNOT keep his story straight. He also told my father that I claimed it was not worth repairing, which is a complete lie. He was arguing with another customer when I had arrived - my situation is not unique and something isn't right about this gentleman. Please look elsewhere for your repairs - this owner is a perpetual liar, and he wasn't at all apologetic about throwing away our mower because we "took too long to pick it up". Yet I was understanding when he needed extra time to repair it. But evidently, he ultimately did not repair it and gave it to scraps. read more

I brought in my 10+ old lawnmower and even older gas lawn edger in for general maintenance on a Friday afternoon in April. The promise date was Thursday. I got the call that both were ready on the Friday, one day off. Despite being one day off, I got my lawn products much quicker than I would with the place around the corner. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a business. I've never even wrote a review before today, but how this business treats their customers is ludicrous. I dropped my machine off and was told there was a 2 weeks turnaround, okay that's fine. Two weeks go by and I don't hear anything, then three weeks go by and still nothing so I call them. Was told they hadn't even had a chance to look at my machine, I said fine just lemme know when it's done. Four weeks go by and nothing, I call again and can't get an answer. Five weeks go by and still nothing, I call again and was told the manager was too busy to talk to me and would call me back, never receive a call. Six weeks go by, I call again and am told the manager will call me back again, never receive a call again. I call back today and let them know it's now been six weeks and I want some answers, and end up getting yelled at and berated by the front desk guy on the phone who screams at me to come pick up the machine and that they aren't gonna work on it at all now. I show up to get my machine and tell them that this isn't how you run a business by berating and screaming at your customers for something where you are clearly in the wrong. Horrid place. Took a decent power washer and paid $60 which would be half of the actual quote for repair. After a few weeks I went to pick up the power washer and Mike said it was something other than the carb and the pump now needed work. When I said I just wanted the washer back he asked for $80 more. Told him our agreement was on carb and nothing else. Mike talked a lot of talk when I dropped off the washer, said things he didn't remember and admitted he did not remember. Long story short he kept my power washer and my $60. I am really disappointed with this place and even sadder he kept my power washer because I would not pay him more money. These guys are GREAT! A small, family run shop with helpful knowledgeable staff. The father son banter creates a humorous dynamic. We took the lawnmower in when it wouldn't start. They said they were very backed up but looked it over. They even help you load and unload your equipment. A new spark plug and we were good to go. They recommended calling in a couple of weeks to get a full servicing since they were so busy. We just picked up the mower: $60.00 for oil change, new air filter, the spark plug and blade sharpening. Our grossly neglected lawnmower is running like new. Am I really looking forward to mowing the yard in this heat? Yes! read more

Rip-off artist. I dropped off my blower for a carburator adjustment. They required a $40 deposit and stated it typicallly costs less but they would let me know if it was going to cost more BEFORE doing the work. I was content with that bc a new carb on amazon is $20. They also stated they would get to it the next day..5 days later, they said it was ready. When I went to pick it up, there was an additional charge of $46.47 for a total of $86.47. That's more than half the price of a brand new blower and over 4 times the cost of a brand new carb! When I told the owner they said they were going to call before they went over the deposit, he acknowledged that his rep told me that but then he reprimanded him and showed us both a print out on the counter that says the store will not call for normal repair fees which were like $70-$90. He wasn't willing to make it right any more than that so now the only way for me to get the blower back was to pay the difference. $17.40 for parts including fuel lines which I had already replaced before bringing it in. I also got charged an additional $6.48 for "Shop Supplies". I already paid for parts so not sure why I was charged for supplies again but the charge that irritates me the most is the labor charge, $56! I usually fix stuff like this on my own but I just couldn't get this one dialed in which is why I took it in. Folks, I asked for an "adjustment", there are literally 2 easily accessible screws on top specifically for "adjusting" the carburator. He decided to replace the gaskets, flush it and replace fuel lines. Again, my fuel lines were new and I had already flushed it too which is why I only asked for an adjustment. Obviously his scheme is to create more work so he can charge more. Heres the kicker, even if it needed all that, there are literally 2 nuts that hold the carb on and 4 screws that hold it together. Its definitely not $56 worth of labor! I can literally do everything he did in less than 10 minutes and I'm not even a skilled professional. He's taking advantage of people who don't know any better and even more, he didn't seem confident in the repair. He told me that if it has any more issues it would need a new carb. I asked him how much for a new carb and he told me $35. HE COULD HAVE REPLACED IT WITH A BRAND NEW CARB AT HIS OWN PRICING FOR LESS THAN HE CHARGED ME! I also asked if he would at least give me credit if it had issues going forward and he said no so he doesn't even stand behind his own ridiculously priced work. If he would've called I would have told him not to do the work which is probably why he didn't call. This is unethical and I can't fathom how many others he's taking advantage of that don't know any better. My alternative was to not pay the difference but then he gets to keep my blower and sell it for even more. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Do not go here. Their pricing is not fair at all. Took in a pressure washer that wouldn't start. All they did was flush the tank and carb and charged me $110. When I questioned what was wrong in the first place they said it was a dirty carb. Then told me that part was only $50 and it would have been half the price if they would have just replaced that part. read more

This place is just worthless. It used to be good. I brought a chainsaw to be fixed 1-1/2 months ago. After many excuses I showed up and they hadn't even started on it. The counter guy is rude and couldn't even find my saw and was mad that I wanted to take it elsewhere. Do not waste time or money at this place. read more

These guys are great to work with. They offer reasonable prices, generally turn repairs around quickly, and operate with honesty and integrity. I had them tune up my zero turn mower, including replacement of all 4 tires. When one of the tires was defective, they replaced it and because the owner, Mike, lives relatively close by, they stopped off at my house to deliver it to me! That was a level of service that was unexpected but highly appreciated. Finding a good lawnmower repair shop in Houston is easier said than done, but these guys have earned my business for years to come. read more
