Hard to find, so use the map as it is located behind a shopping center on Mason. On my last visit, I was given a crazy estimate of 6-8 weeks for repair, but the mower was ready in a few weeks. Very popular. There are some high quality lawn care items for sale, such as tree trimmers, blowers, weed whackers. I may but my next tree trimmer there. read more

This place is great! The sell new lawn gear like Echo and Toro brands and more importantly they service equipment. I bring my mower in every year for a tune up and blade sharpening. Last year my pressure washer died and was ready to pay $200 for a new one but instead Mason fixed my old one for less than $30. I was researching online for a highly-rated repair shop where I could take my Troy Bilt 550ex and this shop was the top option. The shop is hidden behind a strip mall; use the 3D Pho restaurant as a point of reference and drive between the buildings. Upon arriving, I was kindly greeted by Mr. Rick George, the shop's owner who inspected the mower and took my contact information. Within 2 days, I was able to pick up my mower and it is running once again without any issues. It turns out there was water inside the carburetor and it needed to be rebuilt. One thing of note: if the repair is under $100 they will go ahead and automatically fix your equipment. If you need an estimate beforehand, you will have to pay a fee. This place is definitely tucked away in the behind a strip center and even behind Katy Exhaust Pros. The place is neat and organized especially for this type of business. The staff was friendly Polite and Professional. So why only 3 stars. I brought in a riding mower for a carb rebuild. They asked about some upsells, such as oil change and blade sharpening. I don't fault them for that and I told them that I could do that myself. I asked them for a ballpark price for the carb kit and they told me $75, which I thought was a good deal. Well I guess I asked the question wrong because while I was intending wanted to know as a ballpark price and what it was going to cost me to get the work done. So I was very surprised when the bill was many times that amount. I can understand that they may have just quoted me the price for the kit and not the labor. But they also did the oil change that I had declined and there was a very itemized bill for every little thing including a can of carb cleaner. I understand charges for fuel filter or hoses, which btw they did include a plastic bag with the parts they replaced. I thought that was a nice touch. The mower is running good and I will use them again but will be prepared for the bill next time. read more

I've taken my Walker mower into him several times due to issues I caused. He's fixed the problem every time. He's knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I take my mower in there periodically as well for routine maintenance (grease joints, sharpen blade, service engine, etc...). While not a common mower he's able to get it done. They pay close attention to detail and rarely have I found something that needs to be fixed or worked on twice after I take it in. Currently brought in a deck for modification, probably the most intense job so far w/ several modifications to occur. Will come back and write a post on how they did. read more

On July 5th, I read an article about spark plugs and someone having an exact issue like mine. I bought a Champion plug at Home depot and replaced the Lowes off brand plug. Started and idled on first pull, and ran like a top! no stall, so dieing or hesitation. Hmmm were they going to sell me a $90.00 coil, but only put in a spark plug???????? read more

Brought in a trimmer/edger where I tried to repair the fuel lines after they cracked. It was a trimmer that I bought in one of the big box home centers. The gentleman at the counter explained to me that they no longer serviced a few of these brands due to the difficulty for them to obtain parts from their distributor in a timely fashion. I thought I was on my way.. Instead the gentleman and another employee started taking the unit apart and ran the fuel lines correctly and connected the parts that I couldn't get to in the fuel tank. Within 10 minutes, I was back in business for a fraction of what I thought I'd pay. They also showed me a replacement trimmer for when my unit ultimately fails. There is no doubt in my mind that when that day comes, I will come directly back and buy it from them. FANTASTIC customer service. A shop that really wanted to just help me. read more

Took in a weedeater I was given but would not start. they called the next day and said there was no compression so it was ruined. no charge. I like that. next year I took in a TORO lawnmotor that the clutch was stuck. He turned it by hand and it worked. no charge. Really like them. When I arrived there were so many pieces of lawn equipment I wondered if they would return the right equipment to the right owners. He place is as busy as Starbucks. It is summer and so it took 3 weeks to get my stuff fixed but that was my fault for waiting. They called to give me the cost of everything and it was very reasonable. They even give you the parts back that they took off so you can see it was replaced. It is a bit hard to find because it's behind a bunch of stores but this is the place to go to get your lawn equipment repaired. read more

Bought a carb rebuild kit for my mower when it got clogged. I had to go back for the proper gaskets, since they didn't sell me the proper kit. While I was there, I asked about how the needle seat should be installed. They looked and told me that my carb was ruined because the gas had corroded the port where the seat is and that I would need to buy another carb from them. That didn't sound right to me since it's not an old mower, so I asked someone else that had experience. He showed me how to install the seat. I was able to fix the carb with the parts I had and now it works fine. I basically feel I was lied to and almost taken advantage of. I will not be a customer of Mason Road Lawn Equipment again. read more

I was taken back that a company who worked on my mower did not care if it was fixed or not. So I decided to take it to another place w/ a reputable name and they were worse. I took my Honda lawn mower to be tuned up and have the blade replaced. The front desk personnel were solid. I got my lawnmower back within 2 - 3 weeks. Yes. I said 2 - 3 weeks. They have a buckton of mowers to repair so the wait is very reasonable especially during the summer months. When I went to pick it up, the replaced parts were attached. That shows they did what they said they were going to do. I even checked to make sure since this was my first time using them. Yup. All new parts. The cost? I little over $100 and worth every dime. I will definitely use them again for my mower. Honest and dependable. If you are thinking about using them, I would suggest so. There is no business that is more helpful or honest One time I needed to fix my mower and the owner here told me exactly what the problem was and how I could fix it myself. Next time I was in I paid then $20 extra just for the excellent advice and honesty. I refer all my friends with mower or small engine issues to these folks!
