Eric, their piercing, runs "Piercing in Action". It's the piercing artist inside the shop. He did my first piercing ever in my helix and it was a beautiful turquoise stone. Really happy with it and he checks in with me to make sure I'm still happy with it and that it heals properly. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!

My daughter has been asking to get her ears pierced for a long time. I knew I didn't want to go to the mall to get them done. I searched through Yelp and found this place. I texted Simba as stated on the website and he was super quick to reply. Within 45min, I had made an appt, filled out paperwork online and got info from Simba. He was BEYOND thorough at the appointment, told my daughter everything he was doing/going to do where she could understand and was really patient when her anxiety kicked in. The place was SUPER clean, welcoming and chill. I highly highly recommend getting a piercing here with Simba! We were in and out so quick!

I came in wanting an upper lobe and a helix (If that is what it's called) piercing. Simba was friendly, patient, and went over the after care with a lot of details. He's very knowledgeable which made feel more confident in being able to take care of my new piercings. I got both ears pierced. It was pretty quick and painless. On a pain scale for my Upper Lobe I give it a 2/10. For my Helix it was closer to a 3/10. For anyone considering piercings I recommend going to Action Tattoo.

Was trying to decide for a long time if I should write this review and after a year of considering, I made the choice to write this review. First, I will just explain what happened as factually as possible. When I first came into the shop, I met Ray Herrera, I explained to him I wanted a touch up on color on a bee tattoo I have. I asked if he wanted to see the original photo of my tattoo and he said no. I booked a time slot with him and left. When I came to my appointment I asked again if he wanted to see the original picture of the bee I used for my tattoo, and he said no. When Ray finished my tattoo, it was a completely new bee in size, shape, and figure. I paid with a 20% tip and left. I called back about a week later to tell him I was unhappy with his work as he gave me a whole new tattoo when I only asked for color touch up. He said he could fix it but that he would charge me full price to fix it. The bee was now too big, and I didn't want the fix to make it any bigger. Honestly, I don't know how he could have fixed it unless he could erase what he first inked. I never went back and started the process of tattoo removal on the bee tattoo he did. These are the facts. Now for my feelings based on what happened. First, shame on me. I should have never booked an appointment with someone who doesn't want to see the original picture of the tattoo at any time beforehand. Second, shame on me again because I didn't look once during the process. Unfortunately, I had full faith in him to just do a color touch up. Third I was SHOCKED to see all the adjustments he had made with ZERO communication. I literally almost cried in his seat as soon as he showed it to me. Beyond that, after I called, he could have cared less that he didn't listen at all to what I wanted. That he had destroyed a tattoo I had in remembrance of my grandmother. He did nothing to resolve the issue besides me paying to start all over with him. It was all a bad situation that left me feeling unheard, not important, and needing tattoo removal which is painful and EXPENSIVE AF. Also, the tattoo he did, did not turn out well. The lines were very strange and blotchy. Please see the before photos of my cute, sweet, feminine bee next to the quarter . Then see the bee Ray did, a whole new bee with a new head , butt, antenna, and ugly bug eyes, very masculine, fuzzy, not crisp lines and faded color... the opposite of the look I had and needed to remember my grandmother. I do not at all recommend Ray Herrera from Action Tattoo in Anaheim .

I got a Friday the 13th tattoo done and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it came out! I was in there for less than an hour, but the artist tattooing me, Brian, didn't feel like he was rushing (definitely efficient). The vibes were great, and I can't wait to come back to get my next tattoo!

8.19.22: It was a quiet afternoon as my daughter and I strolled in. There were two tattoo artists sketching away at the table, and one piercer who was able to accommodate us on a walk-in. My daughter just turned 17 so as a minor they not only require parental consent, but you have to bring a copy of your child's birth certificate to prove your relationship. I didn't see this as an inconvenience, but instead it was COMFORTING to know that the shop owner takes his business very seriously. For this, A+++++ It was fast, in & out in under 20 mins. My daughter said it was painless (smiley piercing), and BRITTANY had a gentle hand. I met BRIAN, one of the artists, and i'm hoping to have some work done by him in the next couple months. The shop is tidy and organized, and in a clean location. It is tucked away in a shopping plaza, away from the main road, which is nice bc you don't get random people strolling in & out. If you're there it's bc you are having work done and are not there to window shop or be an obnoxious kid who doesn't even have money to afford a double-double with fries next door. A good first time experience overall and i would recommend this shop. Note: California law states no one under age 18 can get a tattoo, regardless of parent consent. If you find a shop in California willing to break the law, that's a big red flag.

Just finished my second tattoo in 2 weeks at Action. I have been tattooed all over the country and I can say that this is one of the best shops I have been to. Roger has done all my work and I can't recommend him enough. The shop is immaculate, well lit, super sanitary, and one of the most comfortable places you can get inked. Roger listens to your idea, creates the artwork and works with you to design your ideal tattoo. I will def return to have more work done here Interesting side note, as my most recent tattoo was being done, the stencil became smudged and almost unreadable. Roger, the consummate professional, didn't skip a beat, knew exactly what he wanted to do, and created a perfect tattoo. You need to get Inked by this guy!

Nelly!!!!!! She's been my tattoo artist for years now and she never disappoints. She's the person to go above and beyond for you just to make sure that you're satisfied with your tattoo. She seriously has so much talent. Recently I went to her to get a cover up that I stupidly got from another artist. I pretty much gave her an idea and let her take creative freedom. Eric is amazing at piercing. He was very thorough with his measurements and took his time to make sure we were super comfortable. He's very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and professional. Great location too. I highly recommend this place for piercings. Don't go to the cheap mall. You get what you pay for there. Eric is super helpful and informative with aftercare also. From the moment I walked in, I was treated with smiles by everyone. I did a walk-in (no appointment scheduled) and Nelly was the artist who helped me. She sketched the names in different sizes until I found the one I was happiest with. She was a great person to talk to and it felt like a great therapy session by the end of it. That explains how comfortable and friendly she was. All of the artists were down-to-earth and humble. There was no ego or bad energy like what I've encountered at other shops. That alone won me over. The conversations were fun and friendly, it made me forgot I was being stabbed by tiny needles for great art. The shop was was extremely clean and organized. They have THE CLEANEST and nicest bathroom I think I've ever been in. It doesn't even look like a tattoo shop when you walk in, the owner outdid himself in decorating and renovating the place. The ceilings are sexy, that's the only way to describe them. The art on the wall is beautiful. It's not just sailor flash art. The huge Frankenstein painting is what caught my eye originally. I'll definitely be coming back often for more great art. The work was spectacular. Their prices were reasonable. Don't forget to tip your artist! Thank you for a great experience during the hardest time in my life. See you all again soon. Walked in for a tattoo for my husband after reading the great reviews for this shop. I also walked out with two new piercings. The shop was clean and the artists were extremely professional. Brian tattooed a mini portrait of my dog on my arm, above her name, which was done by a different artist. This piece of art came out better than I had hoped for. He was able to get a lot of intricate details in it, like her wrinkles, her hair pattern, the ridges on her ears, and her big beautiful eyes. He met my expectations, exceeded them, and then surpassed what I thought was possible in such a small tattoo. I will be forever grateful for this lovely tattoo of my precious baby, Little. Thank you, Brian Vu! Your talent is amazing and you have no clue how many wonderful memories I have tied to the picture we chose. If you are looking for a piercing I highly recommend you go to Action Tattoo and get it done by Simba and here's why. His experience and professionalism reflects his quality of work and like the rest of the staff here he is very kind and genuine. He sets the standard for excellence by the way he takes all precautionary measures for safety to ensure the most sterile, comfortable procedure possible. After the piercing, he spent about 10 minutes educating me about how to care for it in the future by recommending a after care regimen. He was very knowledgeable about the risks and different types of infections and other adverse reactions from not treating the new piercing with care. This shop right here is freaking amazing. Roger and the crew are OUTSTANDING. Meet the Business Owner: Roger T.

I have been Tattooing since 1990. I did a formal apprenticeship at Empire Tattoo. I worked there for 8 years before moving to MN and working at a little shop called Tatts by Zapp for a few years. I then returned to southern California and started looking for a good location to do my own thing. I found this spot in Yorba Linda a great little community. I haven't looked back. I love this area and my clients that are from here.

I thought for a long time over leaving this review or not, but I just had a very poor, insanely…read morestressful experience. I appreciate how Simba displays care for his craft, but there were many red flags during my experience. My partner and I had requested stainless steel right away for our piercings clarifying we didn't need a titanium upgrade as we have no sensitivities even after the sales pitches, but once Simba told us the price at the end it was much higher than originally quoted, so we corrected him and he said he pierced us with titanium. Not once in the process was this made known to us. This was an extra $40ish to our total that we had no choice but to pay, when we have no sensitivities or allergies and are used to stainless steel jewelry. Simba was very salesman-y and tried to have us purchase many things until I requested to take them off the total, which I get from a business perspective but it made things a bit uncomfortable. I was familiar with the products too as we sell them at my work, and they are not soundly necessary for piercing aftercare. Any clean saline spray works great. The main problem came with my vertical labret piercing, which the end ball fell out 1-2 hours after he pierced me. I was standing when it fell out, and i didn't even notice until I saw my lip. I had to go back and get it fixed, which I do appreciate that Simba came back to help and screw a new one in. Then, 2 weeks later, my piercing fell out again when I was sitting in a car on a road-trip to another state. I never touched my piercing or did high movements out of caution. Once again only noticed when I saw my lip in a mirror. It was an insanely stessful experience where my piercing came out from the top of my lip and I had to shove it back in with blood leaking down my chin during a food stop in front of my family. Appetite ruined. Though Simba referred me to someone he knew in the area I had to pay to get the ball replaced, and this piercer was amazing. Johnny from Club Tattoo. My body was in shock from everything and I was not all the way there but he was very kind and I wish he was local to the area. He mentioned that per Simba's instructions (which were rather outdated, uncommon, and bizarre: clean the piercing 3 times a day with a spray and then 1 more time with a specific foam soap), I was over cleaning my irritated piercing and needed to let it be instead. I was only spraying it 3 times a day as I thought the soap was overkill, and spraying it 1-2 allowed it to heal better. The real kicker was, once this piercer switched my bottom ball out (Simba was telling me to buy a whole new piercing), it never fell out again! Not even once. I was even worried as the jewelry base was different. And I was very careful out of fear at first but then I started continuing my workouts and being not careful at all, bumping it etc, it still never fell out and lasted me about 5 months, perfectly in fact, until I had the courage to downsize it with The Piercing Shop (they were also very kind, low stress, and told me not to pay more for titanium when I asked as a precaution bc stainless steel works just fine). I even considered going back to Simba to downsize but never got a response. I'm unsure how things could've gone so wrong here, and it was personally a bad experience for me and my partner whose piercing had no room to be downsized as well and hasn't healed well. 2 stars for the early effort in communication at least, but overall a very poor personal experience

Finally got some time in my life to get properly tattooed and can't lie, i've been on a bit of an addictive rampage... one after another. Roger (the Owner) has been working with me on many different ideas and i am slowly getting covered in ink. I chose Action (Roger) not because i knew Roger and the great reputation of the shop before my tattoo addiction, but because i know Roger runs a (very) clean-quality shop and is brutally honest about what will work and what wont. "Tattoo 101"... not all ideas and drawings will transfer well into a tattoo and i appreciate Roger's million years in the business and "old-school" approach to long-lasting, solid tattoos. I admit, i have some pretty whacky ideas and he is great about steering me in the right direction and not letting me do something stupid that will be with me for the rest of my life. I'm also lucky that i love "Japanese" and that is one of his specialties... i can assure you we are in the process of some pretty extensive tattooing and i couldn't be happier with the work so far. I also like the scary-spooky stuff too and he is very well rounded and has no problem coming up with cool stuff that will frighten small children, lol. Although i haven't had a chance (yet) to experience any of the other Artists, i know "Rog" only hires the best and i know some of the other Artists like "Mojo" have a pretty impressive pedigree and is basically the only Artist my Wife will use and her "pieces" are amazing (she's on the addictive "tattoo getting train" as well) I have now (obviously) spent a good amount of time in the shop and just want to explain one frustrating thing that i see these guys have to deal with and add some advice to any prospective clientele reading this... They have a $100 minimum and that seems to be a "sticky point" for some and i have even witnessed people getting kind of angry, especially when the Artists are honest and explain that their idea might not work or transfer well into a tattoo. You might have your heart set on something but trust their experience and don't get something that won't look right or won't last long-term. You have to understand that this is a quality shop and it costs time & money to even set-up for your tattoo (needles, quality ink, gloves, sanitizing products/procedures, drawing time, rent, insirance, etc) so please understand that you're getting a quality tattoo... and quality tattoos aint' cheap! Tattoos will be on you for the rest of your life so if you want something crappy you might "regert" (lol), go to a cheap shop, but please don't cry to these poor guys that are just trying to give you a great experience and something you'll love till you die. They truly care about doing great tattoos and not just taking your money. So trust your Artist, trust Action Tattoo and trust their experience, you won't be disappointed.... + there's a cool little Bar next door called "The Canyon Inn", go see "Pauly" and have a beer or shot after you're done... tattoo's hurt! lol read more

I was timid about getting my first tattoo. I spoke to Roger at Action Tattoo and he eased my concerns. I showed him the scars near my belly button from a procedure I received. Roger took a photo and made a custom design on his iPad which I was able to preview prior to him imprinting the design on me. The butterfly tattoo came out perfect. Roger was very calming, professional, clean, and reassuring throughout the entire process. I have two other scars and I'm looking forward to Roger working his magic to camouflage those scars. So... Before even stepping foot into Action tattoo my brother and i were greeted with warm smiles and hellos by Roger and Will. Roger the owner took care of me this evening and me feel very comfortable and excited about getting my first tattoo. I have been getting tattooed at action tattoo for a little over two years now. Every time I leave the shop with a new tattoo, which I may say is pretty often, I am more than satisfied with the quality and art work that is bestowed upon my skin, not to mention how welcome the guys in the shop make you feel. 10/10 two thumbs up, if you want bad ass, quality tattoos that people compliment you on every day, then it looks like you have found your shop. I have never gotten a tattoo and Action Tattoo was so helpful and supportive. I explained to them that I have a phobia of needles and am really anxious to get my tattoo and they informed me of the numbing cream. The cream worked wonders the tattoo was pretty much completely painless. I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Nolan and he was so kind and helpful, my tattoo turned out better than expected. Awesome shop right next to one of my favorite bars the canyon inn. Have a beer and a shot of jack and go get tattood!! Ive always heard roger the owner runs a tight ship and i wasnt disappointed. Clean, professional and i know from others he only hires quality artists. Did a nice japanese piece for me and couldnt be happier. My 72 year old mother in law was in town from Nebraska and mentioned that getting a tattoo was on her bucket list. I called Action Tattoo on a whim and spoke with Jon. He was so professional, asked us what we wanted, gave us a price over the phone and was able to fit us in that day! Best tattoo shop in OC. Right next to the 91 so it's convenient to stop by. Roger is the owner and has been working on tattoos since he was 17. The experience of the workers in this shop is insane. So I walk in at 11am and am greeted and told it'll be an aprox 2 hour wait- again- no problem. This is to be expected. I get my name down and leave for a few hours and come back. I let the guy greeting everyone know multiple times that I wanted a full-color tattoo. I wait another hour and am seated with an artist. Upon being seated I notice that he has mostly black and grey art posted. I remind him that I expected a full-color tattoo and he let me know that he doesn't do color. Hey, no big deal. I wouldn't force someone to do something they're not comfortable with. So the guy from the front apologizes and says it'll be another 45 minutes until another artist is ready. (I should have just cut my losses at this point). So it's closing in on another hour and dude let's me know another artist can actually take me. Fantastic! Well I sat there for another 20 minutes, while the new artist consulted (flirted) with two women on what they wanted. Never greeted me. Never asked what I wanted done. Completely ignored me even though I was the next client. At this point I politely stood up and walked out. I heard so many good things about this shop so I'm honestly just shocked and disappointed by the customer service and priorities of this shop.
