The provider told me to TAKE IBUPROFEN even though she knows I'm pregnant. I actually had to be the one to correct her and explain that it isn't safe! It's such basic medical knowledge that it was honestly pretty scary I had to catch that mistake myself. UPDATE: I've been here (5) times after my initial review. I highly recommend this clinic. I'm very happy to say I still feel the same after these recent visits! The P.A.'s are competent, and provide real care, are pay good attention to details. Everyone is so nice and professional and the facility is new, clean, and modern. This facility is very well run and the staff is upbeat and positive. I will continue to keep coming here. I've come to this clinic. My wife has come to this clinic. My daughter has come here every time we've always been taken care of. They are efficient, new clean facility and I've gotten really good service and good medical treatment. I wasn't sure what to expect but it went better than I thought. The doctor actually sat and talked with me for a bit instead of jumping right in. They looked at my concerns and asked about past issues I'd had before. They gave some suggestions that weren't just quick fixes which I liked. I didn't feel rushed or talked over. The receptionist was helpful and gave me some info I needed after the visit. The environment was quiet and seemed well kept. Overall it felt like they were being honest and trying to help. read more

0 stars. I rarely write reviews but feel that it is necessary in this case. DO NOT go to Action Urgent Care if you want to pay a lot of money out of pocket. They will charge you for unnecessary lab tests and office/video visits to make more money. I normally go to Sutter/PAMF or use Blueshield Teledoc. Sutter will only charge me a co-pay of $35 and no follow up visits or calls required for the type of lab test I was requesting. Teledoc is free and they just send a prescription to the pharmacy. I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars out of pocket to Action Urgent Care for the same lab test and office visit. They also required a follow up video appointment which neither PAMF nor Teledoc does. They try to make more money in any way they possibly can and are not upfront about how much you will end up paying. You will only find out months later when they send you the bill. Not only that, I went to this center because I needed the prescription right away. The PA left the office for the night and forgot to send my prescription to the pharmacy. I could have just gone to Sutter the next day if that was the case. Unacceptable. read more

I poked my right hand index finger two weeks ago. I pulled out a splinter and covered my finger with antibiotics. The open wound healed in four days. It seemed ok except it hurt when I pressed on it. It didn't go away for two weeks so today I went to Action Urgent Care and found out the staff were very friendly. The attendi physician, Chase Whelan , was an angel- very attentive and ma me feel at ease. He didn't use anesthesia just a small tool to.pry open the skin and I didn't feel a pain and in a minute he pulled out a quarter inch splinter Amazing! I couldn't believe that it didn't hurt at all. My little sister got into a fight with an avocado and lost. The avo-cut-o pulled a reverse uno card and stabbed my sister's hand with the steak knife. She was bleeding a lot so we decided to head to urgent care. Tiffany and Yashima guided us through the process of downloading the Kyla app to upload our insurance information. And we were soon escorted to the back to where Tiffany helped to take my sister's vitals and saline-wash the wound. The cut was deep, but Dr. Tracy Phan really helped alleviate my sister's anxiety and pain with her calm tone of voice by describing each step as she works to stop the bleeding, injecting local anesthetic, and stiching up the wound. I needed to visit this urgent care four(!) times in the past two weeks -- twice to bring my mother, and twice for my daughter. I keep coming back here because they have very knowledgable PAs that allow for more than enough time to diagnose and treat the patient, and answer the many questions I always have. - Nancy treated my mother, who was being a bit stubborn about her condition, and she took the time to patiently and gently explain why my mother needed treatment, and then, long-term care. - Todd saw my daughter (twice, for different issues). Both times, he performed thorough evaluations. He even followed up personally after the second visit, to check in on how my daughter was recovering. The medical assistants were also wonderful to work with! Sandy C. helped me sort out a billing issue (caused by my mistake), and Jason D. was very friendly and helpful when he did the initial intake for my daughter. It's hard for me to write this. Not because I feel guilty for giving this so called "urgent care" a bad review... because I have to relive my horrible experience I had here. It started about 3 months ago when I had severe pelvic pain. I told the physician assistant... who at that time I thought was the Doctor that I was on my period. Instead of running a test like a pelvic ultrasound or abdominal ultrasound, they just took a freaking urine sample and told me to go home and deal with the pain basically. I ended up in the ER with cysts the size of grapefruits that were present there for some time. The most frustrating thing about my experience here is that the whole team that works there only did an archiac urine sample where my current PCP couldn't even determine what the lab meant bc it was those old school urine samples plus they didn't even check my blood pressure or temperature. Absolutely no panel of CBC was done or anything. The PA even had the nerve to ask me if I was eating appropriately since my ketones were high and just said I had high ketones. High ketones could be from dehydration too!! Not only that, they billed me almost $280 and double dipped on my medical insurance!!!! Fortunately, I was able to get the money refunded back to me... they charged my credit card right away when I arrived there. Usually you present your health insurance card and they can bill you later!! That's most if not all practices!! instead, I found out later that they not only took my money upfront for the wrong diagnosis and delay of treatment, they billed my medical insurance and my insurance paid them!!! so in short, this location needs to be avoided at all costs!! If you need to go to an urgent care, go to Sutter Health or anywhere else!! I beg of you. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Very very poor triage of patients here at this location. I would never recommend anyone going here. read more

They ask you to download an app called Kyla. Made an appointment online using Kyla for a Sunday appointment. Only saw one other person waiting to be seen. Office staff saw me right away and reviewed all my online information. Office staff was very friendly. I was taken into an exam room and was interviewed by an another office staff member named Sandy who was wonderful and very friendly. She took my vitals and asked me questions about my health problem. Then I waited about 30 minutes to see their PA, physicians assistant. Never saw a M.D. The PA was wearing a mask and glasses so hard to read. She seemed to want to make the exam as minimal as she could. No friendly personality, no friendly banter here like the support staff. Total exam and talk about five minutes. I had fallen during a hike and was in pain for five days thinking possibly I broke a rib. Her opinion was I was not that injured because I lacked bruising. Being 70 years old I was having great difficulty standing up, bending, picking up objects, coughing really hurt and turning in bed was nearly impossible. I did ask for an X-ray to be sure. Waited another 20 minutes for the X-ray technician. After being x-rayed I was told they had no one trained to read the x-rays and to call back tomorrow to get the results after 4PM and the results would be on Kyla the app. I did call at 4PM the next day and no one picked up the phone. Left a message and they never called back. Called again at 6PM and no one picked up. Called 10 minutes later and finally they picked up and sent the report. Fortunately no broken ribs. The PA prescribed a mild muscle relaxer and told me to take Tylenol. My total time there was one hour and 50 minutes. Total time with PA was 5 minutes and then about 3 more minutes before I left. Recommendation? Office staff worker and Sandy the support staff worker were wonderful. Impression of the Physicians Assistant was not possible due to the heavy masking and short exam. I also felt like she thought I really did not need care due to my lack of bruising. I disagree. This is only the second time in my entire 70 years I had ever been to an Urgent Care and I was in real pain. The last time was 20 years ago and I had walking pneumonia and could not find a doctor to see me. Would I come again in an emergency? I am going to say yes because I did get the x-ray in a timely manner. Had I seen my regular doctor she would have put me off for days and scheduled an x-ray days later. That is her usually way of treating patients even if they are really sick. Being in pain I wanted an answer as soon as possible. Support staff was wonderful. Felt rushed by the PA, but I did find relief in knowing I did not have a broken rib. read more

I literally cannot believe this place has such a low rating. I've been here twice now for what I thought was a sprained finger. My first visit here was for the x-ray. I checked in for my appointment, was seen minutes after, and was out 10 minutes after that. I expected to be there for at least a hour, to be honest. Scheduling my follow up was so easy and it could be done virtually which was awesome because of my injury and having to bring two kids along with me. My FaceTime appointment with the doctor was on time and he was kind and empathetic when he reviewed my x-ray and determined my "sprain" was actually a fracture. He thoroughly explained what the plan of care would be, especially considering I'm a nursing mom. He said I could stop by any time to get a better splint done. I had my appointment today to do that and now that I have this splint on, I'm much more comfortable and the pain has been much less. Again, the doctor was so thorough at explaining how to care for the splint and injury. I left with zero questions or concerns and I have my follow up scheduled. I feel very well taken care of here, even by the people at actioncare Capitol expressway which is where I was first seen. read more

Clean facility, nice and accommodating staff. I came for a swollen toe and with a little wait, I was led to a room. After all the usual vital signs checkup, I was led to a xray room for an Xray then back to the examine room again. Within minutes, doctor came, and told me that there is nothing broken. Took a look at my swollen then ordered the blood withdraw for blood test for potential gout or infection. Blood withdrawal was followed. Another nurse , by Dr's order, also gave me some ibuprofen for the swell. All was done in less than an hour (including blood withdrawal). This is my go to urgent care because the staff is super nice, facility is clean, and I'm always in and out. I've been here plenty of times for myself and my toddler. The last time I was there the medical assistant named Gina was very sweet and patient. She was helpful with getting all my symptoms down before seeing the doctor. Great team and I had good experience overall. I had went in for problems with my ear and could barely hear from it; the lady at the front desk who helped me was really nice and incredibly patient with me cause I couldn't hear to well. I wish I could give them zero stars, as they provide absolutely zero customer service. I've called them three times over the span of three weeks regarding a billing issue, and each time, I was assured they would follow up within a few days--but that never happened. I came here with my 4year old after she was complaining about her ears hurting. We got in with no real wait just had to download an app. The girls at the front were so kind and clear with what I needed to do. We got in to see Dr. Aguilar and he was so kind with my daughter and diagnosed her with an ear infection and sent in the medication to our pharmacy. Then he had us schedule a check up in a couple days on video. He was so nice and I thought it was so great to do the check up on my daughter. I recommended this place to other parents with young ones. Great staff and an outstanding doctor! read more

This was my go-to urgent care for a while, and even though we've moved about 15 minutes away, I drove back over to be seen there again. Care has been good in the past, wait was quick and parking is easy. However, they are now using Kyla app which is a horrible app. It is always slow to download, and today was going to take 19 minutes even with 3/4 bars of cell phone coverage. There is a guest wifi network labeled AUCGuest that seems to be Action Urgent Care wifi but they said they have no guest wifi and no password. If you are going to force someone to get an app, and put in their private data whether or not they actually agree with the privacy policies of said app, or you will refuse service to them - then you should offer wifi. On the prior 3-4 occasions we have gone and been forced to use the app, it was also slow to to download/install, and every time had consistent errors inputting data or not actually sending it over to AUC even after the app said complete and submitted. It's such a painful process to check in. So today when the app wasn't downloading and wasn't working, they refused to check me in and I just left. There are so many other urgent care options around. I went to AFC Urgent Care and was in and out within 20 minutes, the amount of time AUC expected me to just sit around waiting for a broken, awful app to download while they refused me service. read more

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. I went in for a visit in February 2024 and was told my copay was $225 despite my insurance card showing a $20 copay. The front desk insisted that I had not met my deductible and needed to pay $225 just to be seen. Low and behold, my actual charge was only supposed to be $20 and they overcharged me by $205. I have been continuously calling to ask about getting refunded, and keep getting punted that they are still waiting for payment from my insurance. I called my insurance and they confirmed payment was sent electronically in March and my insurance rep even offered to call their billing directly. Insurance rep got a slightly different response, saying they received payment but were still 'processing it' and to continue waiting. I am not sure what process is in place (or clearly not) that would take almost 3 months to show payment was made. I've been told that I have to wait 30-45 business days, but if it does not show up, Action Urgent Care said to 'just wait longer'. This place is a ripoff and will not only charge you too much, they are seeming to REFUSE to refund the difference in what they OVERCHARGED. Avoid at all costs unless you're independently wealthy and don't mind being ripped off. read more

I fell my left wrist was swollen, they took x-ray and told me I had fractured wrist and need to see orthopedic asap. They just gave me a referral paper and told me to go orthopedic without telling me that I need to have CD of the images & a report. I have to go back there 2x because the documents are not ready after 24hrs. and they will call me when it's ready to pick up. But no one call me, I have to go there & ask for it, so they can print out the report & the CD for $30. I have a fractured wrist but the report is broken elbow, the CD images are not viewable per my orthopedic and I have go to VRI to retake x-ray my wrist. read more

I'm very sick and had the most frustrating experience here. Been coughing for 2 weeks, had an appointment at the Brokaw location of Action Urgent Care. The appointment by itself was completely useless. They took 2 Covid tests even though I explained the origin of the cough and it couldn't have been Covid, then the doctor came and performed other procedures and couldn't stop touching me, which made me very uncomfortable. But I was hoping the prescription inhaler would help. On Sunday, a nurse called me and said she had some questions before actually prescribing me the inhaler and that I should call back. I called back right away, then again and again, been calling them the whole day, during their business hours, and nobody ever picked up. I even left a message on their app which they make everybody download - still no response from anybody. I couldn't even talk because of cough, had called "urgent care" for a reason, yet there was no help from them whatsoever. Today, I finally reached a live person and they told me - surprise - my inhaler is already in the pharmacy and I can pick it up! It's an effort for me to drive in my condition and I barely made it there only to find out there was another mistake and my pharmacy hasn't even received any order. I'm so sick and tired from it all! Action "Urgent" Care is only milking my insurance for unnecessary tests and procedures but doesn't actually care about people who need help the most. read more

Patient, be careful to ensure they send your prescription & visit summary ! The doctor forgot to send my prescription to the pharmacy. Consequently, I had to commute for 30 minutes at night to reach the 24-hour CVS, waited for an hour, and ended up leaving with nothing despite experiencing a cough and terrible chest pain. I called them in the morning next day, the person took the call was nice but he couldn't do anything and instructed me to wait until my doctor returns, which means that I have to wait four days after my visit to get the medicine for chest pain and a cough. Additionally, I have not received any visit summary on my online account or email until I called and they sent it to me via chat. What's a joke ! read more

Worst! Came here on 2/28/23. Been waiting for about 3 hours only to received a call from the provider while I am waiting inside the patients room. The worst part was that the provider was just on the hall way speaking to me (on phone) was just right few steps to my door! Why let me wait for about 3 hours on your facility when you will only provide me your service via phone call? If you can't see your patient sent them home and give them time frame for your call. And please clean both of your restroom and wash area they are filthy! Looks like it never clean for weeks. read more

This clinic made 3 bad mistakes and broke 1 law when I took my geriatric aunt here for COVID urgent care, seeking prescription for Paxlovid. With that said, the provider or doctor Diane was very nice and pleasant. 1) I scheduled an in-person appt, but an admin called and told me this appt can be done virtually. Happily, we accepted, prepared and emailed all relevant docs to them ahead of time including recent lab results and meds list etc. During FaceTime with the provider, she said that my aunt has to come in to be tested by them because the home tests cannot be trusted. Waste of time and the preparation of documents. I wasn't prepared to have a COVID positive person in my car either. 2) After confirmation of a positive test, the clinic sent the prescription to our preferred pharmacy. But when the pharmacy told them they don't carry this med...NO ONE CALLED TO INFORM US, THE PATIENT! Instead, they informed this pharmacy to relay the message when we got there that WE must call around to find a pharmacy that does carry paxlovid, then have this pharmacy transfer the prescription over because, and I quote, "we don't want to send prescription to random pharmacies". I called the clinic, in confusion, to confirm and this is what they told me. This is BS, no healthcare provider has ever done failed to inform the patient themselves and make them do the work of hunting down their meds!!! 3) The first pharmacy printed out the prescription for us. I found a CVS that carries Paxlovid, the pharmacist there informed me upon looking at the print out of the prescription that "by law, the provider must send the prescription directly to the pharmacy", and I quote. So, they broke the law. Other mentions - upon arrival at the clinic, the admin refused to test my aunt until we download their stupid app and create our profile so she can scan the QR code first. This is the ONLY way they can record the lab results and inform the patient. Really? The only way? I get that operations are trying to streamline with newest tech but if your new tech is leaving behind patients like my elderly aunt who wouldn't be able to do any of this on her own, you aren't helping people. My only intention of detailing their modes of failure and negligence is to hold them accountable to make improvements and focus on PATIENT CARE!! That is your only objective! Please make it the top priority. Everything else that you do has to enable patient care, not make it harder for them to even receive care or send them on a goose chase for meds when they are sick. read more

$237 for a follow-up call My wife visited this place last October, they did a follow-up call 3 days later. Then we got two bills from them, each at $237. We contacted their billing department, and they claimed a follow-up call is counted the same as a doctor visit. Seriously!? $237 charge for a follow-up call?? After waiting for 30 mins, the doctor took a quick glance and diagnosed it as conjunctivitis, prescribing eye drops for it. After using them for two days with no improvement, we found another doctor's another opinion, which concluded that it wasn't conjunctivitis but rather allergic irritation from rubbing the eyes. The Urgent Care doctor's hasty and irresponsible judgment, without even taking a closer look at the eyes, deserves a negative review. read more

I went there for my son's visit. I needed a detailed invoice for insurance purposes but they do not give such thing which is so simple, instead they give you a number to call. When you call the number you can only leave a message and they get back to you in 48-72 hours which is ridicilous and very inconvenient. Will never go there again. read more
