For years, my family has lived in San Jose and received exceptional care from Crescent Medical Center. They have provided us with emergency and non-emergency medical attention, as well as minor and major surgeries, and cancer treatments. The medical staff has saved my father's life multiple times, and for that, I am forever grateful. Moreover, the nurses and doctors have provided irreplaceable bedside manners to both the patients and their family. I have never had an attending doctor neglect calling me with updates, even after hours. During a recent ER visit, the staff was incredible, ultimately admitting my father. Called and was seen this afternoon. He addressed my sinus infection and did a responsible job of checking my medical history before prescribing. I'm a breastfeeding mother and he was very helpful looking up the risks of the various medications that he thought would help me heal and be relatively safe for my baby. For starters, let me say that I HATE going to the Doctor. So, when I had a medical issue late one evening, I picked the "best reviewed" Doctor from yelp. Dr. Hashmi was able to quickly diagnose and treat my medical issue. Additionally, I found him easy to talk to, knowledgeable and caring. My previous physician treated me like just another number, so, I was really happy to find someone who cared about my health. I know some yelp reviewers have said that he tried to win them over during their visit; however, no one can make you do something you don't want to, and the fact that a Doctor invites you back to care for your health should be looked at positively, in fact, more Doctors should follow in his example. I first saw Dr. Hashmi after experiencing a pretty serious allergic reaction to something I ate. I was very impressed with how they were opened on a Saturday and I didn't have to wait very long. He also called me the next day to see how I was doing- how many doctors will do that- let alone on a Sunday?? In the year since, he has helped me with a number of health related issues. Dr. Hashmi, his office manager Mo, and the entire staff are fantastic. They go above and beyond to take care of patients. Dr. Hashmi is incredibly intelligent, quickly diagnoses ailments, and immediately prescribes effective treatment or medication. I went in the other day with an incredibly swollen and painful foot. The drew my blood and called in a prescription medication to my pharmacy. (They do their own blood draws on site, so you don't have to go to a separate lab). After months of pain that my podiatrist seemed unable to alleviate, I felt better within hours of getting anti-inflammatory meds after my appointment with Dr. Hashmi. We discussed the bloodwork results the next business day and began to figure out a longer term treatment plan. We recently switch insurance and their foreign process has been confusing for me. Hard to believe I have been coming to Crescent Medical Center using their urgent care services now for over three years. Yes, three years!! How time flies!! It is always good to see Dr. Hashmi and his staff. I also saw "Mo" who I have missed during my previous visits. She is really funny and just love her. Crescent Medical Center is an Urgent Care Clinic where you can drop in, get treated, and not have to worry about paying an arm and a leg for emergency fees. It will also save you a lot of time and stress as wait in the emergency room, and I am sure you can relate; time waiting can go anywhere from an hour to hours!! And in case you didn't know, Crescent Medical Urgent Care is your one stop care for all your medical needs, and they will even draw your blood work, and call you with your results. This will save you a lot of time having to go to a lab. Very convenient! But I believe, one of the best perks for coming here is seeing Dr. Hashmi. He is more than a physician. He really cares about your well being. If you get to know him, he is a really funny guy. You will know right away that he enjoys comedy and humor. Dr. Hashmi is superb. Generally I dread urgent care clinics because of the long wait times, unfriendly staff and exorbitant costs. Thanks to my fellow yelpers, I found Dr. Hashmi, and I couldn't be any happier. I arrived at 6:30pm, filled out a couple of docs and was seen right away. I was out before 7! I was very happy when I found out that this urgent care facility was opening up. With a new diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, I was looking for a doctor who would be supportive and flexible. Dr. Hashmi treats me like I am his own daughter. He is so friendly and welcoming and his office staff and nurses are very kind. He always performs a very thorough exam whenever I am in there and he is extremely good in diagnosis. I have sinus infections very often with the medications I am on and he always has the right ideas to help me feel better. I took my wife here because she was sick and her regular doctor told her (by phone) to take some Tylenol and come in tomorrow if she's still sick, and I thought she should be seen sooner. We were seen right away and the doctor was very thorough. I mean very very thorough. We were there for like an hour and a half but he did figure out what was wrong with her and gave her the right medicine. Doctor Hashmi is very friendly and really spends a long time with you. It's not what I'm used to, as my regular doctor is so fast that he's already written a prescription and left the room before I'm done explaining what's wrong. The nurses here are also really nice. I can't say enough about Dr. Hashmi and his staff. I found out about the clinic after sitting on a medical issue for awhile, then deciding it was concerning enough I may want to go to an urgent care since it was a Saturday. I called at 6:30 (they were closing at 7) and was expecting to be told that they couldn't see me till Monday. However, Mo told me to come on in. I have gone to Dr. Hashmi's numerous times since, and no matter when I come, I typically have had only a short wait to be seen (Maybe 30 min, and max has been an hour- the wait is until I see the dr, not unless i am taken back to a room, this is total time spent before seeing the doctor. Very impressive if you have ever been to urgent care) Every time I come in, they have had a variety of medical students, who are all extremely friendly and welcoming. Extremely easy to get an appointment on the same day. Or you can walk in but it might be a short wait. The Dr. is thorough and takes time to not only examine you carefully but he has a good bedside manner. He listens to what is wrong, your symptoms, your history ect. My first visit was a little expensive for me but i don't have insurance and my subsequent visits have been less expensive now that he has my history, information, ect. The pharmacy they use is very close by and the staff are kind and helpful. I highly recommend this Doctor. some reviews seemed to think he was expensive... I am 30 and relatively healthy. It is much less expensive for me to pay for what I need than to pay for a high deductible insurance (for me would be 200 a month + all costs up to $5000 in a year) I can pay 100-200$ to see a dr. every 3 months much easier than the 2400 a year+ costs I would pay with insurance. It just seemed cheaper with insurance because i forget that $24 visit is subsidized by my pay check or monthly payment. read more

Dr. Hasmi was a great find for me. He's a great doctor, but also relates to you on a relational level. He can talk about items of concern that go beyond what just ails you physically. I've never felt a need to look for another doctor. He took me on as a new patient right after I got here from Atlanta, and I have been so pleased with him. When my little grandson suffered a cut on a Sunday, he made the long drive from Palo Alto just to open up the office and look after him. It increased my appreciation for him even more. read more

OMG! What a pleasant change from a typical HMO office visit. It wasn't overcrowded with long lines wherever you looked. The staff was friendly, professional and Dr. Hashmi was the best physician I've seen in quite some time. He seemed to genuinely care. Although I had no health insurance, they didn't treat me like a leper. Dr. Hashmi even asked me what I wanted to pay! After 30 years of standard HMO-like office visits, I've learned that medicine is more of an art than a science. I don't expect an immediate accurate diagnosis, especially when I have no history with a particular doctor. What I do expect is that staff and doctor(s) to at least act as if they care; that the staff don't appear to be distant, overworked, underpaid people who treat me like yet another number to be processed. This visit was a sterling experience! I wouldn't hesitate to visit Crescent Medical Center again because I was treated so well. And when I do get health insurance, I will happily consider making Dr. Hashmi my primary physician. read more

I first found this office when I was SURE I was having a heart attack one morning. I called and Dr. Hashmi answered himself and scheduled an appointment for me shortly thereafter. Long story short I have GERD. One thing I appreciate is that Dr. Hashmi and Co really are concerned about your health, not about money. This is extremely important for people like myself who do nto have health insurance. They sincerely want to help patients. Dr. Hashmi is awesome and has the best bedside manner. Yes, he will most likely make fun of you so be prepared! And he has his PhD. so not only is he super smart but he is an excellent listener. I've never had a primary doctor before. I always went to my pediatrician and then when I went off to school, I just took advantage of the practitioners on campus. I used to work in the medical device industry, and I've met a *lot* of doctors. None of them come close to Dr Hashmi's bedside manner and sincere caring for his patients. If you simply want to get something taken care of immediately and just want an anonymous urgent-care visit with zero intention of seeing a doctor on an ongoing basis, or if you're adverse to students in the office, I might consider going somewhere else. However, with that said, I think that should be the exception, not the rule, and I would never ding Dr Hashmi for it. Dr Hashmi got me in the same day when I had food poisoning (or a nasty virus?), but instead of simply treating my isolated symptoms, he had a student nurse-practitioner take my entire health history and talked about everything going on with my health. He told lots of jokes, and I was a little irritable and asked him how that was germane to the diagnosis, but he took it in stride and he said he tells jokes to lighten the mood and make the patient feel comfortable, which certainly worked for me over the course of the visit. I spent nearly 2 hours there because of his thoroughness. Again, if I were looking for a quickie and a prescription, I'd have been annoyed, but given how extraordinary his attitude is, I was open to considering him as a primary care doctor. I knew that I had been neglecting some things, including getting a physical done, so he scheduled that along with my follow-up visit. I felt that I was gently pushed to get a physical, not for him to get extra money, but because he sincerely cared. I've been around plenty of doctors who are just as focused, if not more focused, on making their bottom line, but Dr Hashmi just wanted to see me healthy not only that day, but on a regular basis. I normally don't have a primary care doctor because I would go to one of those walk-in clinics at the grocery store for the everyday cold, and specialists for specialized problems that the clinic couldn't handle. Caring and supportive team of Doctors, Nurses and Medical Assistants. I first came here after 6pm on a weekday when I was extremely sick. Turns out I had swine flu. Doctor Hashmi stayed late to see me and took great care with me. I forgot to get a note from him excusing me from work and he met me at the Pharmacy to give me the note!! Talk about personal care. He is now mine and my husbands primary care giver. Their schedule is very flexible, you do not have to wait long at all to get an appointment. They are also considered an Urgent Care center for those who need last minute help. Highly recommend Crescent to anyone looking for a new primary physician, they really bring that old school feeling of personal care to the bay area. I was really concerned because I needed medical attention, and despite having signed up for Covered California healthcare coverage, my medical insurance had not yet kicked in. The scheduling staff does a great job making sure wait times are minimal for both appointments and walk-ins, which is super convenient, and everyone here is nice and accommodating. This is a learning clinic, so Dr. Hashmi is often accompanied by resident medical students, which really gives it a warm environment filled with energetic people that always put their best foot forward and genuinely care that you are getting the best treatment possible. The doc also has a disarming sense of humor, which besides contributing to the hospitality of the center also provides a disarming environment for talking about issues that could otherwise be embarrassing. Such a waste of time. I came on a Friday first thing in the morning to beat the rush. I was the 2nd patient to arrive which I was happy about. I came to see the doctor regarding my foot because I was in so much pain walking on it. Since my primary doctor was not available, I had no choice. I waited for the doctor to see me 1.5 hours later and when he came in he was more interested in pitching why this place was so great and why I should become a patient of theirs rather than finding out why I was there. My husband was already annoyed that we had been there so long that he had to cut his pitch so we can focus on the problem. Not even 5 minutes in the room and he sends me off to get an x-ray. After completing my x-rays, I was told that the doctor should have my results in 1-2 hours. It was 11:30 at the time. I called the doctors office around 2 and they said " your results were negative" and I'm like "great! So, what is wrong with my foot? What is this pain?" The person on the phone did not know the answer and said "I'll need the doctor to call you ". Which was even more annoying because he should be the one delivering me the results in the first pl. So of course, the doctor was "busy". They told me I should get a call back between 4:30-5. Come 5:30, no call back..so I had to track him down again. He finally gets on the phone and says "your results are negative" and again I say "ok, great so what's wrong with my foot??!" He basically told me that it was just inflamed and to take ibuprofen. I'm so glad I went through all that and paid $30 bucks...NOT! Today I went to a REAL podiatrist and was told I had a stress fracture and tear. So much for Dr. Hashimis diagnosis.
