My dad got transferred to this facility from El Camino Hospital due to the fact he had Covid and had lost a lot of strength in his legs. He was placed in this facility with the understanding that he was there to rehabilitate his legs and gain strength so he could be more independent at home. We were told that he would have physical therapy and occupational therapy at least once a day while he was there.  Prior to my dad getting transferred my sister and I toured the facility and liked what we saw and heard. The other nice thing was it did not smell like some of the other facilities we had been to.  Once my dad got transferred there they took extra precautions for everyone due to the covid, and they still allowed us to visit him, which was unlike other facilities and the hospital. My dad shared a room with another covid positive patient, which was fine, his roommate was very quiet and slept a lot. The first issue arose when my sister asked for assistance with getting my dads shorts on. He was capable of standing up with some assistance, and just needed a little extra help. The staff member that came in treated my dad as though he was unable to do anything and very roughly put his shorts on him while he layed in bed. I understand that there are a lot of patients, but at least try to treat these patients like they are human and take a minute to find out what they can/cannot do.  The second issue was when my dad asked for assistance with getting another pillow under his head late one night. He said the staff member very roughly grabbed a pillow "yanked" his head forward and pushed his head very hard into the corner of the bed. My dad is not a young guy, but he also does not move very fast due to his muscles being stiff. Also, after being in the hospital for 4 days and having covid, he was moving a little slower than usual. In addition, because he was not getting assistance to get out of bed to use the restroom, he was getting weaker instead of getting stronger. After those two issues,  him only seeing a physical therapist and occupational therapist 2 times in the 4 days he was there, and him not receiving any type of rehabilitation we decided he needed to come home.  When my mom contacted the home, they said we would have to take him AMA because he could not get evaluated by a doctor for at least another day. My sister signed the paperwork and took him home. After getting my dad home, we received one phone call from a staff member and when my mom asked them to hang on so they could speak to my sister who had more knowledge of the situation, they hung up the phone and never called back.  After getting home, Home Health contacted us to start PT at home and one of the things they needed to start PT was the paperwork from Mountain View Health. Mountain View Health refused to release my dads records to them because we took him home AMA. read more

I went into Mountain view health care center 3 days post hip replacement surgery. I am so glad that Mountain view health care center had a room available, only one was available, but that was all that was needed. We arrived at night from El Camino hospital. I was very impressed with the warm well appointed interior and Indian staff Lila verma . We passed a sitting room with coffee and tea pots. As it turns out there are at least three or four of these sitting rooms and at least 2 two or three larger living / conference rooms with large TVs. The food was excellent, healthy, fresh and in abundance. You can always order off the alternate menu should you not find anything to your liking on the standard menu. And of course if you have special food needs, you will work with the dietion to draw up the best menu for you. (Lila verma ) director of staff is very kind shining star over there along with the non-nursing home feel, is the Physical and Occupational therapy. PT and OT are made fun. They have the state of art virtual PT/OT Wi machine. So fun! I looked forward to therapy. All of the standard therapy machines, most of which I enjoyed. And, in addition to the excellent PT / OT, the Social Services office forever had hands in all of the pies and were keenly aware of the state of the patients. You are strongly encouraged to share any concerns, internal or external, with them, and the follow up is incredible! Also! I quite enjoyed myself!, Lila verma and another shinning star is the outstanding nursing and cna staff. The beds always changed, trays removed, blood pressure, temp, etc. always taken. The staff, nurses and cnas aware of their patients and the special needs of all. Very kind and gental with their charges. Appropriate medications always provided at appointed times. A key with all of the staff, medical, therapeutic, administrative, janitorial, is that they care. Lila verma care about the patients, care about the living environment of the patients, and most of all care about the quality of the individual service each one has to offer to the patients and they provide no less than their best..... read more

Nice....nice....Nice...Nice....Nice.....nice... .Best nursing care ! I love this place .they care very good....I recommend this facility who really needs care..is a great skilled nursing center-- clean, kind workers, staff and nurses. My father needed skilled nursing to recover from an injury. He was there for over 5 weeks. The nurses were conscientious and low key-- very easy to work with (as I had to take my father to a wound care clinic weekly to have a specialist look at his progress) and they had yo fulfill Stanford doctor's orders. The wound care nurse at mountain view health care center did exactly as Stanford docs instructed and appeared to be experienced. She was kind and efficient and reliable. Food was very good, according to my father. The physical therapy and occupational therapy was excellent. The PT and OT rooms and equipment are excellent-- they have a lot of great tools and a large variety. In fact, he misses the PT now! He has returned to his hometown and the "high end skilled nursing" there has high ceilings and fancy facilities, with competent people, but Dad misses the people at in comparison and the PT and OT facilities are sparse and incomplete. Lilia, the worker at Mountain view health care center worked diligently with me to discuss Medicare coverage and get Dad the required papers he needed to transfer to his hometown SNF. Will definitely use this facility again if needed. BTW, my neighbor recovered from hip surgery here after breaking her hip two years ago and she commented how wonderful it is... read more

We admitted to Mountain View Healthcare Center over the weekend, which ended up being a delight. My family and I were a bit apprehensive at first with it being a Saturday, but it was a breeze from the moment we stepped inside. My mother was greeted warmly and we were on the way to our room. The nurse supervisor came in as we got settled and checked in with us. Everyone was super polite on that day and each day since. One week later, there has been so much progress from the therapy department that we are seeing that light at the end of the tunnel!! The therapy gym is so bright and surrounded by glass, there even is a fish tank adorning the entrance to the gym. I was told new management just took over, to them I say GREAT JOB! The facility is clean, from the rooms to the common spaces and the grounds. There are so many staff members cleaning and detailing each inch of this place, there must be a a small army behind the scenes! Thank you again Mountain View Healthcare Center. I had an excellent clinical experience at this site and would highly recommend it for nursing students. From day one, the nursing staff created a safe, welcoming environment where I felt comfortable asking questions and actively participating in patient care. They took the time to teach, explain procedures, and provide constructive feedback, which made a huge difference in my learning. The leadership team was incredibly supportive and approachable, consistently checking in to make sure students were having a meaningful experience. Their encouragement and willingness to involve us in the care process showed how much they value education and professional growth. Building is very warm and welcoming, when you walk in you are greeted by Nita very friendly and very helpful receptionist directing me to the right department, which I was greeted by Jonah and Jennifer in the marketing department. They took us on a tour of the facility and I absolutely love their physical therapy department, state of the art equipment . With every questions and concerns I had they not only answered them to my satisfaction but also put my mind at ease leaving my loved one in their care. As I was finishing up with the marketing department their assistant director Jenn introduced herself and just wanted to make sure everything was going well. If you would ask me why do I recommend this facility my response would be, the facility is very clean outside in, all the staff are friendly and always willing to help and if they can't answer a question or request they will solicit the proper response from their supervisor. I can't say enough good things about Mountain View Healthcare Center. My dad stayed here for five weeks, and the care he received was outstanding. Dr. Awerbuck was exceptional, spending a lot of time with my dad and making sure he was well taken care of. The Director of Staff, Kristin, was also incredible. She ensured that the CNAs were always informed about the best ways to manage my dad's confusion and specific needs, which made a huge difference in his comfort and well-being. A special shoutout to Erica in Rehab, who created a fantastic plan for my dad each week with achievable goals. Her dedication and expertise helped him make great progress during his stay. Initially, my dad wanted to go home in a week, but he ended up falling in love with this place. The care, attention, and kindness he received from everyone at Mountain View Healthcare Center made his stay truly wonderful. I strongly do not recommend this facility to anyone. A family member was there for a week and her condition got increasingly worse every day. This was expected in her situation but was heightened by the facility due to their negligence in taking care of our loved one. The nurses did not realize on their own that she was unable to reach the water bottle across her bed or call for assistance and we had to explain to the nurses when to give her water and medicine. This is their job and we should not have had to constantly be asking the nurses to do this and worrying when we weren't there that they were not checking on their patient. On the third day we visited it was clear they had not given her any water or attention in 24 hours and the medicine that she was supposed to be given every few hours had not been given to her once all day. Unfortunately, the nurses only job was to help her be as comfortable as possible in her last days and they did the complete opposite of that until we had to bring to their attention our concerns on the last day. read more
