We celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday at this location, and she chose the 'Bounce and Laser' package. We were allowed into the room 15 minutes before the party started to set up our decorations, including tablecloths and balloons, which made the space look great. The staff member was very nice, and we had two people assigned to help us throughout the event. The kids started with 30 minutes of supervised jumping and had a blast! Afterward, we headed to laser tag; the TVs weren't working, so we couldn't see the scores, but the kids still had a lot of fun. Then, we went to the party room for pizza. The two staff members seemed to be struggling a bit, so I offered to help out, but my guests still had a wonderful experience and no one complained. A tip was already included in the package, but we gave the staff a little extra on the side for their hard work. Once the party ended, the kids were able to stay and play in the arcade for a while. Choosing the 7:00 PM time slot was perfect because the place wasn't crowded, we practically had the whole facility to ourselves! I also love how the teenage workers they assign to your party escort the kids to each section and actually watch over the kids to make sure no one gets hurt (unlike SkyZone or Launch Trampoline). I called earlier this morning to verify if my family and I could just walk in and have open play and they said yes . Fast forward to 10 minutes ago, five minutes away when I called to verify how long open play is and how much per, and they tell us they closed early. They then deferred us to Bounce "two minutes away" I called 5 times and each time got sent to voicemail. These establishments are probably ran by the same person and are pitiful. Hosted my daughter's 5th birthday party here yesterday and I was disappointed. The party literally started out with my daughter sliding into a giant pool of urine. While I understand the nature of a children's activity center, I would recommend the staff implementing a quick perimeter check of all the equipment prior to the start of the next party. We then had to take the entire party and move to the inflatables so they could clean. The children had maybe gotten 3 minutes of play before being told they had to get off. Other then an apology, there was no extra few minutes of play nor any other gesture to make up for a large (and gross) inconvenience. The lazer frenzy lights kept turning off and only one staff member could turn them back on and I wasn't always able to find her. We were brought into the party room at 4:55 so not only did we not get the full amount of time with activities, we were cut short to remain on what appeared to be a very strict schedule. We brought in outside entertainment (a princess) and it was clear this caused friction with the Active Kidz facility (this shouldn't have been obvious to me as the party host and it was). The performer was not smoothly accommodated and could not complete all the items of the performance package I had paid (a LOT of money) for. Thankfully my daughter had no idea but I did and this really really annoyed me. Lastly, we had an ice cream cake and they had no spoons? Normally, I wouldn't care about such a small detail but considering the monstrous price tag on these packages and all the aforementioned incidents, it was the icing on a really disappointing cake. I won't come back and I would recommend a different venue if looking to host your child's party. read more

Save your money. NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.  We booked this place for our son's 5th birthday. During our time in the inflatable room a serious incident occurred where an ambulance was called.  So, our party was not able to enjoy the inflatable room. I spoke to the assistant manager and she said she would work it out so we could go after their last party. However, when the manager/owner came she said no. My son and his friends were very upset crying. However, the boss lady had no compassion. She  only cares about getting money with no customer service.  The experience was ruined. As much money as this facility is making a partial refund should have been considered for the inconvenience. Let's not talk about how outdated and gross the facility is. The parties are booked back to back without disinfecting between each party. Like I said don't waste your money. Book at Xplore in Commack. Much better experience. read more

confusing play/credit rules. the card system to use anything doesn't make any sense (they don't just offer unlimited options or an hour, 2 hours, etc to play games Which would make things a lot simpler). everything here is convoluted when it literally doesn't need to be. just go to a Chuck E. We asked one employe to use the bouncy section then literally 60 seconds later a different employe told us to leave (kind of rudely) because we were not there for "open play". The kids didn't get enough food, they rushed to take the food away so that the adults wouldn't touch it, although it was paid for. But most importantly, we did not get all the experience we paid for. First time here with kids. Bouncy area is pretty big, Kids have more space to jump around and it even has a separate basketball/volley ball area along with slides in the bouncy house area. Also on the other side has a huge maze which is awesome. Also has ninja kids/rock climbing (extra $$). Kids definitely had fun. Drove 30 minutes to take my kids here for some serious fun on a Thursday. We got there at noon right when they opened and we're the only ones there. I wasn't aware that on the weekdays, their attractions are limited, which was quite disappointing. There were only 3 out of 8 attractions available, which was the adventure maze, ninja obstacle course and rock climbing. The cannonball blast, aeroball, lazer frenzy, inflatable fun zone and laser tag are available on the weekends only. My son was disappointed that he couldn't do the laser tag. He was only interested in the adventure maze and ninja obstacle course, and my daughter can only go on the adventure maze. Prices are a bit high but as long as they have fun, that's all that matters, right? The adventure maze is $13 per person, the ninja obstacle course is $10 and you get to do it 3 times and I also purchased a $10 game card for the bowling and arcade games. Besides having only 3 attractions on the weekdays, what was more disappointing was their virtual game galaxy, which my son was excited about, is under construction, the bowling game was not working properly so they have to call the manager to come in to fix it, few of the arcade games were broken and the air hockey table game was also not working! Seriously?! The ninja obstacle course took less than 10 minutes to complete. The kids went on the adventure maze twice plus played each arcade game twice (there were about 8 ticket games that worked). I actually had called the day before asking if this place was fun for a 3 year old and she said yes, absolutely; the adventure maze and arcade games. I think not. The adventure maze was pretty hard to climb up for her and it was dark so she was scared to go on it alone. I don't recommend this place for children under 3. Best to come here on the weekends with the blast pass (2 hours unlimited attractions). 6+ to play laser tag. But I must say, the staff that was helping me was extremely helpful and nice. She knew my kids were disappointed bc there weren't much for them to do overall and we only spent an hour there due to the several inconvenience, she felt bad about it so she gave them each a prize that they picked out even though they only had 60 tickets altogether. The kids were so happy and satisfied. And did I mention, the place is super clean! Definitely deserve that extra star. read more

Been to a few locations very similar to this recently for kids birthday parties. The 3 stars may seem a bit harsh but I didn't hate the place. Unfortunately you can't do 1/2 a star because I was teetering between 3-4 here. The location is in a complex so it's a bit rough to find. In the the back of the complex and the entrance is located in the rear of the location. Plenty of parking. The staff were friendly abiet young. Not sure if anyone was over 18 the day I went. With that...it still ran pretty smooth. The party I attended lasted 2 hrs. It was broken up evenly between a gym/maze type thing, a bounce house area, a ping pong shoot em out and laser tag. Add cake time to that 2 hrs also. The kids, ages 6-10 all seemed to enjoy it. Not sure how they clean the laser tag or gym (I'd love to see it since there is soo many nooks and crannys)...but I'm sure it's done because no one got sick (had horrible experiences at other places before). One of the employees dressed up as Spider-Man which was a nice touch. Bathrooms were clean and they also have 2 water fountains. They have an arcade and snacks for sale but I didn't partake this time around. Rock wall seemed to be closed. Overall enjoyable but not the best kids place I've been to on the island. We were here for a birthday party. We didnt know we could order food and have a party here. The place is clean. I cannot say that the staff is very attentive. But the kids had a blast. Adults wanted to play some bowling. The staff had no idea how to operate it. We had to wait for a while someone else come and turn it on. I am so disappointed in my experience at Active Kids for my daughter's 10th birthday party yesterday. It was a 45 minute commute from Brooklyn and I did not expect such an unpleasant experience. The venue is extremely over priced and they do not accommodate older kids. I had guests whose age range was 10- 12 years old. When I went for the tour a few weeks prior, I was told that we were the only party booked for that day and because of my daughter's age, I would get the cafe which had age appropriate seating. On the day of the event, I was downgraded to the smaller room with the aquarium theme. The environment is geared more towards 5-6 year old parties. My daughter was placed in a kiddie room with tables and chairs for pre-schoolers. After brain storming. I was able shift around the tables and chairs and make it comfortable. The children were given pizza that was 1/3 the slice of regular pizzeria slice. (Imagine a pizzeria slice being cut into 3rds) yeah!!! The slices were cut so thin that my guests were hungry after leaving the party. I was so embarrassed. The last slice was the width of a ruler and the party referees were asking the kids to pick a number in order for the "lucky person" to get the slice. As if it were an auction. I paid so much money for my daughter to enjoy herself. While the kids did have a good time, as a parent and a customer, I could see the flaws. I would have felt less taken advantage of if I lost $600 on the street vs. paying for this event. Afterward, i was handed an envelope with my daughter's name and the word "tips". That was very unprofessional. I wasn't asked about my experience or if everything went OK. The only reason I gave 1 Star is because the party referees were very helpful and they kept the kids entertained. I was looking for something different for my son's 5th birthday. I know they love bouncy places, but I couldn't do another party at Bounce U! Active kidz had a little of everything. I took a tour before booking and I loved that it was so super clean and open. They don't feel the need to pack every tiny space with something to where you feel claustrophobic. I the jungle gym area they had couches for the parents, who were actually able to sit because there we the venues employees INSIDE the play areas to assist the kids if they needed help climbing. The 2 men helping with the party were by far the best thing about the day. They were so helpful and accommodating. The kids loved them and played with them. I also really liked that there was only 1 party at a time, so kids didn't get lost with other groups. I had my daughter second birthday party here. At first I thought I had made a big mistake by having it here. I read the reviews after and they weren't that good. I thought it was going to be a private party. Like only us in the building but it wasn't the case. It was serval parties going on at the same time, but it was very well organized. Our party was kept separate and it was very private. First thing you MUST add the extra 30 mins which is $100 but very well worth it. Second, make sure you READ the contract, one mistake I did was not read it, so a week before the party I received a phone call in regards to not sending a list of name who would be in attendance. So I had to email them a list of names that kept a changing everyday. Not to mention the state on the contract they would give you a credit up to 2 kids who do lot show. On another note you can't bring outside food we had to order from them, well the pizza was very nasty. My 2 year old even refused to eat the pizza. We had the Maze and the bounce house, we added on the toddler center. The Staff was amazing unfortunately I don't remember anyone's names. I had kids from 10 months to 12 years old and everything was accommodating to those ages. The maze was awesome and the Bounce house was epic being that my child was 2 I definitely went in the maze and bounce house with her. They have staff in the bounce house and maze so you don't have to worry about that. After the fun was over it was time to sing happy birthday our room was set up exactly to our liking. At first I was very skeptical about those place cause of the other bad reviews but I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention they have so much to offer. After my party was over the kids stayed longer playing with all the games. When my child gets old enough for laser tag and other stuff we would have a party here again. We had a great party at Active Kidz. My 5 year-old really enjoyed the day. We opted for 3 20-minute segments, starting with climbing a cool multi-level obstacle course type thing. Then we did inflatables (which were great) and then a Dance Party. My cousin had a birthday party here and it was a blast! The place was amazing fun and great service. The arrangement was all in schedule. My cousin loved the laser tag, and the maze plus other games. While the young adult staff was excellent and were great to my son and his friends, the management was ridiculous and put a damper on the party. We got there on July 1, a Monday afternoon, about 20 minutes early to his 2:30 pm party. At 2:15, the power went out to the whole place. At 2:30, all my guests had arrived, and the power remained out, so we started discussing next step options -- cancellation, rescheduling, etc. I asked to confirm they would not charge me for the food I'd ordered for adults, and the cost of the cake, and was told by the female manager that I would have to cover that because I'm "cancelling." The nerve! I'm standing there with all of my guests, waiting for a party, not able to have one because there is no electricity, and she's telling me it's on my dime because I'm "cancelling." Then she suggested I take the wraps home and eat them all week, and said she could "freeze the cake" -- not an ice cream cake, mind you. She also suggested we could have the party in the "cake room" -- do arts and crafts, and dance around. Sure, an 8-year-old boy who came for a rock wall climbing party, he'll go do arts and crafts. Just balls beyond belief. AT 2:40 the power returned so it all became a non-issue. But the fact that she was not bending over backwards to accommodate us just really left a bad taste in my mouth. About 1/2 hour into the party she came back and threw in an extra for us -- allowing us to use the laser maze room -- which was a nice thing. But I can't really get over the fact that she was ready to make me pay and try to pretend it was a cancellation. So, an ultraloud BOOOO to her on management prowess and customer service. Next time, remember that lots of moms were listening, and have already avowed never to have their party there . They will also be sure to tell their friends what happened. Good customer service goes a long way, and so does BAD. read more

We went on a Sunday (today) with a 3.5 yr old and a 13 yr old. I called ahead of time to confirm what their website said for today (open play 2-5). The girl on the phone said they had open play from 3-5. Ok. So we get there and I say we're here for open play and the young girl says oh we only have 2 things open...the maze and the inflatables. Really? Maybe she should have mentioned this on the phone. While my 3 yr old loved climbing in the maze and going on the bouncy (there was barely anyone else there), the 13 yr old was obviously not impressed. I was expecting him to be able to do the rock climbing wall and/or laser tag. We were not impressed with this place at all. After we paid the girl ($20 each for maze/inflatables for 2 hrs), we never saw an employee again. This place is outdated, small, and does not have great people running it. read more

We had our daughter 5th Birthday party here on Sat. The facility is nice and they do have a variety of activities for you to chose from to add onto your package. I highly recommend that you add on the additional 30 mins to your party so that you can have more time to enjoy the party without being rushed. This additional time is $100 and only gets you 30 additional minutes. If you want to add another attraction to the party for that additional time slot that will cost you another $100 or more depending on what you add. If you don't want to add another attraction you can add that time onto the activities that you already have. I misunderstood the part in regards to a private party when I inquired about it during my tour. I thought when I was told yes it was like Bounce U, Kazaam etc places we've had parties at in the past and we were the only party going on at the time. I realized that wasn't so when I saw three kids coming to the maze during my daughter's party but I guess they realized that they couldn't go back in and they went back to their party. The staff was very nice, the experience was great the kids enjoyed themselves and I would've gave them five stars but the face painting wasn't the greatest. The other parents complained about the artwork. It seemed like the paint never dried. The kids got their face painted artwork was dripping after the completion as they returned back to the maze, they got paint on their clothes and it was messy. I've never experienced that with face painting before. So that would be one thing that I wouldn't recommend adding to the party. Although I put this in my review, I would go back again. You would think that with so many people being unhappy with management handling things in a money hungry way, they might respond to one of their negative reviews with compassion and understanding. Instead they attack every negative reviewer and claim they are always wrong. Why doesn't management try and make up for a customers unhappiness with an apology or credit. The fact they always insist that they are right and don't acknowledge how unhappy people are shows a lot about their character. It's appalling that there is not one apology in their response to anyone that was unhappy. You guys need to take a management course and learn how to treat people. I have people complimenting my negative review of you guys and telling me they had the same horrible experience. Pretty soon word will spread around the community of how you treat people and it will bite you in the ass. read more

We had a party for an 8 year old there. The party turned out OK (I would say even better than OK), there were no issues (the owners were present on the premises). I was concerned about the fact that there are several parties going on at the same time but it was absolutely fine, the place didn't feel crammed, although I believe, it was booked up to capacity. When I visited the place to book it, the staff wasn't too helpful, but at the party itself, the staff was excellent. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, I would recommend it to other people and possibly do another party there. We had our kids 6th birthday party there. The staff was great. We had two teenagers helping out with the party. They were very attentive to the kids, not just looking at their phones waiting to leave or something. The place was very clean. I was very impressed with the staff KNOWING that if they have gloves on and handling the pizza that if they had to go in their pocket for their phones they took their gloves off. I've been to delis where they would handle the food with the gloves and then keep the gloves on while ringing the register. Umm...defeats the whole purpose. My 3 year old daughter had an awesome time here. Pirate ship was small and simple but kept her coming back. The maze and inflatables were massive and endless fun. Laser tag, arcade, rock climbing wall, and other attractions for the bigger kids. Essentially, fun for all ages. Husband and wife team (Andy and Alicia I think) own the place and were quite friendly and helpful even on a very busy Saturday. Being from Queens, we were lucky to have found them through Groupon and will be having them host my daughter's upcoming birthday party. Good times, good times. Two thumbs up. read more
