I had a 1:45 appointment, and arrived a few minutes early. I had filled out all of the forms in advance and handed them to the receptionist. After one hour, I had not been called on or even acknowledged. I went up to the receptionist and mentioned that it was over an hour past my appointment time. She asked what my name was again, and said something about the technician being busy. About 15 minutes later I was finally called on, yet none of the information on the form I had filled out in advance had been entered into my records (and they had over an hour to do this) and I had to answer all the questions all over again. I make appointment call on 10 October they gave app. For the 31st October at 1.50 now my wife app.on 25 oct. at 1.20 the person who the examen was on vacation nobody call to cancel the app. She drove11 miles for nothing then they gave her the appoint men on 31st at 1.50 I all they said I do not have app. I can not have one until December I am not to happy with before I had 2 surgery with dr Samuel very satisfied with the surgery he did but now the people who do the app.they do not do good job read more

I had surgery about a year and a half ago and I was very thankful that they were able to get me in for the procedure on the same day my optometrist called them. The problem is the follow-up. My first appointment had to be rebooked after I arrived I was told that whoever booked the appointment did not look to see that the doctor who did my surgery would be in the office on the day of the appointment. Long story short, I went in for what was supposed to be a last check-up today and was told the doctor had to do emergency surgery and they had tried to call me last week to reschedule. (I don't know which option was the actual story.) This is the fourth time they rescheduled or changed my appointment without letting me know. I called last week to confirm my appointment because of my previous experiences and was told they had my appointment and they would see me on Monday. Today when I arrived I was given the story about surgery/they had tried to call me last week. I have to take time off of work to make my appointment. Every time I go to the office I have to find someone to cover me at work. It would be nice if the office staff would be respectful of my time. Horrendous lack of customer service, overbooks appointments then herds you like cattle into small uncomfortable rooms to wait with other patients. I had a 9am appointment and after having my eyes dilated, a dye injected into my arm only to wait another 45 minutes well I just left. About an hour later some assistant called me to ask why I left and when I told her she said she'd have the office manager call me but it's been over 2 weeks now and I've heard nothing. Their optical clinic is just as horrible as their optometry clinic year the seating is scarce and the carpet smells like urine. My opinion, stay away, there are plenty of other much better places to go in our valley. read more

I went to the acuity eye group on 02/12/2021 for a yearly exam. I have a $ 25 copay with my insurance. I paid the copay with my debit card. I have no complaints about the way I was treated during my exam. On 04/07/2021 I received a bill from the acuity eye group for $25 for my exam on 02/12/2021. I have my bank statement to prove I made the payment on 02/12. I called the number on the bill and advised them I had paid my bill that day. I was told this would be investigated and it could take 7 to 10 working days. They said I would be notified. I wasnt notified and every time I call im told its still being investigated. It has now been 18 working days. I was told on 05/03/2021 a manager would call me. It is now 05/06/2021 and noone has called me. I have excellent credit and they are co incompetent, I can see this being sent to a collection ageny when I sit here with the proof I paid. They say it wont but they havent told me the truth yet. Needless to say, I will never go to the Acuity Eye Group again. If I could give them less than one star I would. read more

I'm seeing Dr. Stevens for laser treatments. While not painful, this procedure is uncomfortable. Take something to read with you because there is a wait. The waiting room inside the back room is usually crowded of you go in early in the day. It's not as bad in the afternoon. You may want to schedule your visit according to the time if day unless you are an early bird. Dr. Stevens is very quiet, but professional. This seems to be a very large practice with more than one facility. I'd recommend this practice over another one I have been seen at. I rate 4 stars because there is always room for improvment. read more

No particular complaint regarding the eye care...but don't get your glasses there. My lenses started to degrade after 3 mos, and they won't stand behind them. Now you have to buy "insurance". Will cost me $160.00 for replacement lenses. After 3 mos. Get your glasses elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have been going to Aquity for a few years and at first trying to make an appointment was next to impossible plus they would end up canceling at the last minute. I had my Cataract surgery done by Dr. Murphy and the only reason I had more blurred vision after the surgery was due to COVID. I had to wait a year to have it done. It took a little longer for me to have a clear vision again. When it came time for my husband to have his Cataract done I received a phone call two days before it was scheduled and was told Dr. Murphy had suddenly left. I was VERY upset! My husband is a diabetic and also has mild Dementia. Of course, we had to see another doctor and were fortunate to have Dr. Fish. Not only is he very personable but when I mentioned using any anesthesia would affect his memory he told us not to worry he could do it without any sedation! I had my doubts. However, when it came to having the surgery I was allowed to go back to pre-op. I have medical power of attorney and the nurses were wonderful. The nurse advise me he would not be given any sedation. Dr. Fish was able to perform the surgery and he keep his word! I am VERY grateful for his expertise! and kindness. read more

Dr. Quach was great, and my new progressive eyeglasses are perfect. My only complaint about the Palm Desert office is their phone system. My appointment was scheduled for Friday afternoon, the day after Thanksgiving. Late Wednesday afternoon, I got a voicemail asking me to come in at 9:10am instead. The number I was asked to call to confirm my availability was turned off and not connected to a voicemail system. I ended up calling the corporate number on Friday morning to see if the 9:10 appointment was still available, and luckily it was. In my opinion, there's no excuse for this. Acuity makes use of technology in delivering their medical services. Why don't they value and respect their patients enough to invest in a 21st century phone system and an office staff with interpersonal skills? It was ridiculous that I had to spend Thanksgiving trying to return a call that couldn't be returned. If I needed regular treatment of any kind, I don't think I could deal with the chaos at this office. Too bad because I liked Dr. Quach a lot! read more

I was scheduled for cataract surgery - 2 days before I get a call cancelling it because the Dr. Murphy has an emergency. Two days later my insurance carrier informs me the surgery has been denied because the doctor has failed to submit the required clinical paper work. They contacted the doctors office and left information and received no response. I made numerous calls trying to contact the doctor only to be transferred to voice mail. Never received a return call. I finally made an appointment with the doctor to get this resolved. During the conversation he stated, "I just work here." Then he had the audacity to bill my insurance for an office appointment. To this date my insurance has not received any update nor have I received a call. Although you can wait in line to use the filthy patient bathroom (employee bathroom was spotless) this is a packed office of angry patients all waiting hours for treatment. Where do I begin? For the past 2-3 years I have tolerated this eye care group. Being on Medicare, I don't get many choices and even if I have to dole out more money or not, I will find an eye care group or private Optometrist that doesn't treat me like cattle going to slaughter. The facility is poorly run. When you enter the facility, there are way too many people, some with the same appointment time and Doctor. The wait time is usually between 45 minutes to an hour on average. There are just too many patients for them to see to provide appropriate care and you are rushed in and out. Here is my latest experience with Acuity Eye Group: The last prescription of contact lenses I had were for one year. Had it not been for 3 lenses that were defective, my prescription could have lasted through August. Realizing that I was on my last set, I called to order another 6 months supply as my vision had not changed and I did not want to risk going into the office due to the Covid-19 guidelines. I was told by one of the desk clerks that because my prescription expired two weeks prior, I had to come in for another exam in order to get a renewed prescription. I told the desk clerk that I did not want to risk being infected but was told no office visit, no renewal. In addition, she said the wait time for an office visit was one week out soonest and it would take yet another 3-4 weeks to get my prescription. Fortunately, I was able to find a source for another 6-months supply. I used this service and it took 3 DAYS to receive them! Shameful! read more

Hubby and I had examinations today. Everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs there and I noticed the staff was very welcoming to each patient as they were called to see their eye doctor. I was informed there was three doctors today. It was A full room for a Monday, but not much of a wait. My doctor Was very personable and made me feel comfortable. So I had an Appt last Jan 2019. And today I received a txt reminding me of a new appt this jan 2020. First of all I would never go back to this place ever! Was my first and last time there. The Front office Staff was So Unbelievably Rude to me! They couldn't pay me to go back!! The only 2 who were actually nice was the girl who was doing my eye test before I had to see the Doc. She was so very sweet. And the Doc he was great as well. It's really SHAMEFUL the way the office help there thought their actions were ok and funny. Not ok and so Not Funny. Rude and immature. I am so frustrated they are the provider for my insurance. I have been there twice. Very unorganized. Shabby office. Unfriendly staff. I truly wish I had another choice. The first time I went I arrived early, no sign in log. When one was provided, a couple of people who had arrived after me, signed in before me. I informed the receptionist that I was there before them and she assured me she would make sure I was seen before them. That did not happen. The second time I went to pick up my glasses. I signed in on the log. And waited for about 20 minutes while they were in there talking. I finally asked him if I needed to do something to get my glasses and They said they didn't realize anyone had signed in. Maybe if they were paying more attention to their clients I would've received better service. read more

Had a very bad first impression. As a new patient, I was treated in a very unwelcoming way. The reception area is not private and all of the waiting patients can hear everything regarding a patient's personal medical condition. The receptionist was rude and I had to wait for over 45 minutes before I finally walked out. Although I was approved with my insurance for an exam, the receptionist had a problem verifying my benefits. Rather than helping me to resolve the mixup, she told me to call the insurance company myself and told me to come back when I had it resolved. One of the optometrists walked out and spoke to me in a condescending manner, like I was a child. I will not return and do not recommend this office. read more

Never told me I would not be able to see after I left. Did not give me sun glasses. Which I found out later they are supposed to do, When they dilate and poke into your eye.
