Linda knows her stuff and can make those styles you've been pinning a reality. I got a haircut, top color with purple ombre all in 3 hours. She's in the Mission at 18th and Treat. The entrance is on Treat, you just put it the suite number and it dials her and she buzzes you in. The building is a great creative space with a ton of other small businesses. I came to her after a stylist at Revamp Salon completely screwed up my request for platinum blonde hair (instead of bleaching my entire head, he gave me chunky highlights). Man, what a bird brain I am. There's a similar name salon and I left a review over there instead of this Acute salon! Oh well, good thing is I found the right one *smile* First stop, man oh man, Linda is a Goddess of coloring!!! Period. I came to her almost a year ago with the most damaged and breakage hair everrr in my life. I wanted a lighter version of Ashy Brow but my former hair stylist layered with many different highlights and uneven color, which it looked nothing ashy but a dead blond color. Plus, he even cut my hair without permission! He used to be so good, idk what was going on?! It was faith that I found her. I was supposed to meet my former hair stylist for a re touch. I came 15' late (it was freakin' 9am on a weekend! Give me a break). He sent me home. I was frustrated coz Couldn't bare to live with such damaged hair no longer. I looked up Yelp, called friends, call many other salons to book an immediate appointment. Linda was the first to respond. I got an appt with her in 2 hours. I came 30' later, had lunch then waited for her and the crew to arrive. She and her girls were welcoming. They sat me down, looked at the hair, gave several options then 4 hours later (costed less than $300) my hair was saved. They neutralized the light part, brought the darker part to a bit lighter then put on an overall color. Trimmed the break ends. Man, it was so long but they made the time enjoyable. There were three other customers. We had so much fun!!! I loved that she respected and listened to your needs!!! Came back again 3 months ago for bleaching. I was ready to go pink. Yass. Been hesitated for years since my hair was pretty weak. After couples of hair treatments, consultations. Here I was. Another 3 hours of bleaching... Came back today (hahaha, I am summarizing all of my experiences here) voila, less than an hour and $115 away-look at me now. IN LOVE!!! Linda, the owner of Acute Salon, is incredible. I've been seeing Linda for a little over a year and she can really do it all. On top of that her prices are very reasonable for how skilled she is. In the past year Linda has colored my pre-lightened hair to a gorgeous vivid pink, colored 21" remy hair clip-in extensions for me in a pink pastel ombre, given me dream unicorn pink hair with 21" hot head extensions, and taken me back to my natural curly hair, all while keeping my hair happy and healthy. I honestly don't know of any other stylists that have her range or expertise. To top it all off, Linda is hilarious and sweet, and her salon is bright and clean. You really can't go wrong with her. I saw Linda a lot when my hair was really high maintenance so I got to know her really well. Linda Thomas has been cutting and coloring my hair for the past six years, she's the best! I called Zip Zap Hair on recommendation from my roommates at the time and asked for the best colorist, that's how I found Linda. She does the best blonde highlights I've ever had, and they grow out so naturally I only have to go back every 4-6 months for touch ups. I've recommended several friends to go see her too. Aside from color, Linda has done an awesome job cutting and styling my hair over the years. I usually bring in a celebrity photo of a hair style to use as inspiration and she does a great job interpreting the style so it works best with my hair texture and face shape. I've had everything from long layers to short choppy bobs and I completely trust her with my hair now. So much so, I asked her to style my hair for my wedding in March 2011! Linda does a great job getting to know her customers, and she knew exactly what I wanted without having to try a million different styles. Love love love! Linda's been cutting my hair for the past 6 years and still going strong. I have thick long hair that is very coarse and heavy. I love every cut because my hair feels sooooo much lighter and always grows out so nicely. She always gives me her honest opinion and isn't afraid to push the envelope if you are. After searching for someone who "gets it" when it comes to layering hair, listening to my requests and delivering every single cut -- Linda is superb. I used to go to the fanciest places in Los Angeles and tried numerous hair dressers in San Francisco and I can say without hesitation Linda is at the top of her field. She is German (you cannot tell because she has no accent) and the precision and focus she brings reflects her background. She uses only the best hair products and cares about the chemicals she uses (non-chemical Kevin Murphy products -- PPD and ammonia-free) so for anyone concerned about toxins and staying natural with color -- Linda is the best. She manages also to blow my hair out with a brush like no one I have ever seen. Tip: There is parking if you go during non-rush hours and are patient and drive around.
