Was ready to give up hope. Something told me to try again, was able to get in contact with a trainer (Charles), and schedule a training session. Started off with determining how unhealthy and big I was , (was pretty big and pudgy), and they encouraged me and let me know that there was room for improvement. I. Was assigned to work with Khendal, the other trainer there, and over the last few months, she and Charles have worked diligently for me to form my ideal body. (Luke Cage baby!) I'm stronger, uh... maybe faster, and my stamina has increased. Definitely can lift more than on day one. To throw in a tip, nutrition is a huge part of working out. If you work out and eat an entire cake after, you aren't making progress and feeding you muscles what they crave. Protein. Lots and lots of protein. This gym does cost a pretty penny, but the support and the desire to become your best self and be fit and healthy is there. Thus, gotta give them 5 stars.

But, cold weather means sometimes having to fight the intimidation and basic idea that I don't know much about gym equipment and get in there for some excercise! BodyPlex is my first gym membership, and although I've not tried everything, I'm really enjoying it! The classes are wonderful...a great way to dive in even if you don't know what you're doing. The teachers have been super helpful and encouraging. The seem knowledgable and patient, and are good not to embarrass anyone if they need to make a suggestion. BodyPlex is centrally located in Cartersville which is perfect for swinging by on the way home. It seems clean to me, although I do take my own workout mat to the classes. (The gym mats really stink!) The atmosphere is good, and people really seem to focus on their own workout rather than watching others. Just something to think about: A friend of mine just changed her membership from BodyPlex to Gold's because it is closer to her house. But, she prefers BodyPlex and may switch her membership back.

He also didn't respond to my last email asking about the original amount he told me, even though I provided documentation from initial email. It seemed very unprofessional and I felt I wasn't treated well just because I had a Groupon, when I was using that Groupon with the intention of potentially joining the gym if I liked it. I looked forward to joining because from what I've heard there is great camaraderie among Crossfit-goers. Definitely won't be doing that! If you're willing to pay full-price for a membership here maybe you'll have a better experience, but I'd think twice before taking advantage of the Yelp deal they're advertising right now.

I met Jimmy Nixon, one of there wonderful trainers and members. We trained for months then he encouraged me to join the classes and become part of the community. Still overweight and struggling I reluctantly went to a group class. All I can say is that it was nothing like I expected . Some of the fittest people I have ever seen in my life were right next to me encouraging me through my workouts. Its a truly amazing place. I continued my personal training with Jimmy and now through this pandemic enjoying their online programming. It has been an amazing ride. I was a member at the Holly Springs, GA Hotworx location and I would not recommend this gym to…read moreanyone looking for a serious or flexible workout routine. First off, the class schedule is ridiculously limited. Despite advertising as a 24-hour gym, your actual options are narrow. At 6 AM Monday-Friday (the only time I could go), my only choices were Hot Stretch, Hot Yoga, Hot Warrior, and Hot Iso. The first three are basically recovery classes -- Hot Iso was the only real workout, and even that didn't change for 30 days straight. Doing the exact same thing over and over is boring and ineffective. On top of that, the rowing machines were broken most of the time I was a member, and for what they charge -- membership fees, enrollment fees, cancellation fees -- it's outrageous. You're paying premium prices for something that doesn't even function at a basic level. What really pushed me over the edge was trying to cancel my membership. My friend (who joined with me) canceled a week before I did. She was allowed to cancel after our 6-month minimum with no fee. When I tried the same thing -- literally a week later -- I was told I had to pay a $99 cancellation fee. I was speaking to a manager, and even then, the staff had no idea what they were doing. It felt completely inconsistent and unfair. Bottom line: this gym is not built for people with real fitness goals or busy schedules. If you're hoping for a versatile workout, working equipment, or helpful staff -- look elsewhere. Hotworx in Holly Springs is overpriced, disorganized, and frankly a waste of time.

I won't re-hash the previous review, but I will say that I pleased with the response and attention given to my concern. All to which, just adds to the positive vibe I got prior to the one isolated experience. I got a call from one of the owners and she respectfully listened to me after letting me know that she takes the reviews very serious and is concerned about my safety and the safety of her patrons. That particular act made all the difference and I am going to continue my membership because I am convinced by our conversation, that she too is concerned about the safety of her clients and business.
