SPIN is the only real core cardio that all ages can do and they cancel it. Poor quality "healthy food" cheese wiz on stale chips. 5 day old broiled chicken on premade salad from days before. Food $$$ & no outside food or drink allowed. Shakes taste a 5 on a scale of 1-10. After taste that keeps you from finishing the whole shake. Each shake $11- $15 Staff is nice, but limited in helping you. Price is set. Memberships very complicated. There really is no "you can go to any gym if you work aboard." each gym has specific benefits. If it doesn't match up boom not allowed. For example: NY has 14 gyms that do not allow you to go. Period! Membership offers a "all gyms" with hike up in $$$. So you pay extra for nothing. Look on line and it shows you how few gyms are interchangeable. Hot tubs need updating. Water is low so it hits you below chest with only 3 jets in the entire tub aimed at your back. Just like a motel would have.

Strongside is a community of incredibly kind people who gather to be a better version of themselves, on a daily basis. The gym is incredibly clean. The people who go daily are so nice, and are always rooting for each other. Lifting each other. I work out among men and women of every shape and size. All of them trying to just be a BETTER version of themselves. A stronger version. A healthier version. As a middle aged woman, that feels wonderful. And the coaches are phenomenal. They push you to go that extra mile. To lift just a little more. To get in JUST ONE MORE REP! PUSH THROUGH!! My coach is Joe and he is absolutely AMAZING! Without haggling, we struck a deal for thirteen months. I went in yesterday to pre-pay and sign papers. Because of a family emergency the gal I dealt with was out, so Paris -- he said he's the manager -- took over. Right out of the gate he said that he will not honor the thirteen month deal, his employee was not authorized to offer it, blah blah blah. I reminded him that she DID agree, and since she represented the company, they have an obligation to follow through with her commitment. (For what it's worth, I've been a satisfied member for over a decade and have always received additional months and a competitive rate, as incentive to renew.) Paris finally agreed to the thirteen months, but made an issue that they will NEVER do that again, and it will be written into my contract. (He repeated this a number of times, like I'm a child who's being punished.) I walked into Gold's, in a good mood. I walked out, kind of disgusted. Seriously, is this the way to treat any client?! And if current policy prohibits extra months gratis, shouldn't their sales reps be apprised? This guy representing the gym should really take a refresher course in Customer Service 101. ADDENDUM: Several evenings later, Paris called to apologize. That's fine. As nobody else who strikes deals, has the "no future extended months" clause specifically written into their contracts, management should certainly delete it from mine.

The club is nice. The manager Max is excellent. Yesterday my friend that I work out with told me…read morethat the trainer there named Dee a young black male had approached her asking questions about me and saying ugly things about me to her as well. Today I saw him in the club and I asked if he needed to speak with me. He leads me to the locker room which made me uncomfortable bc there is no cameras and began to accuse me of saying bad things about him and I could see he was very angry. Nervous, I asked to speak to the manager and he told me he was the manager and no one else needed to be involved. I exit the locker room and find the asst manager named Max he was excellent. This trainer Dee was telling the manager that he over heard me saying things about him, I don't have any clue what this dude thinks I said. It's obvious there is some underlying mental disorder. As I went to go work out he started to follow me yelling and trying to intimidate me, he began to remove his shirt, he was screaming names at me, the manager Max actually had to restrain the man from attacking me. I didn't know if maybe this man has some sort of self esteem issue or he just looks insecure standing there. There is no telling what this man is capable of, I'll never feel comfortable going here again in fear of getting physically attacked by the lowest paid employee in the building.
