They did not skimp on quality of effort nor quality of work. Like every homeowner project the need for good communication is key to a happy outcome. Steve outshines in this area. He listened to me describe mine and my yard's individual need. I had a nightmare situation of invasive tree roots growing from under the fence from adjoining neighbors excessively thorny trees. The consequence were thorny tree shoots growing throughout my backyard and its sucker branches popping up on every 2-3 inches along the way. It eventually took over my lawn area by 25ft + in every direction. And it was growing longer! This made it impossible to walk on the lawn and enjoy without being stabbed and bloodied by long sharp thorns. I needed these tree roots traced and dug out completely all the way to the fence line before applying new landscaping. Gaspar and Henry did an excellent job of removing each one of these multiple roots by hand digging. Very laborious and yet they handled it well in the hot summer sun and doing a complete and excellent job. They did it quickly and I thank them tremendously. I had to make the hard but wise choice of not re-sodding and no longer having a lawn. Steve was very patient and guided me to the right choices of landscape material that would help me eliminate this problem from reoccurring on my yard. Steve and Awaken Landscapes did an awesome job transforming our very labor-intensive front yard into a beautiful xeriscape oasis. We had few ideas on what we wanted, but several ideas about what we did not want. Raquel (Solea Landscapes) listened carefully and designed a beautiful yard, complete with 3D renderings so we could really envision her ideas in our space. They worked with us, even inviting us to shop with them for pots and plants. Steve and Awaken Landscapes did an amazing job in executing her design. The work that was done by Steve's crew was great - they did an amazing job. I give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, Steve promised a few things that he did not deliver on which is why I'm giving him 3.5 stars. The details were important to me and he didnt follow through on some of the finishing touches with plant placement and the use of boulders. So, for the price, I feel like I got less bc these things were promised for the price. When I spoke to him about my concerns, I got push back. Ultimately,, he said he would come fix it but I did not want to deal with someone who was disgruntled about it. So i paid him and decided to the remaining finishing touches myself. Also, our Job was 2 days worth of work and it seemed like he was too busy with other, bigger jobs to give our project the attention it needed (This is based on what he said to us). read more

Awaken Landscapes went above and beyond what we expected. Steve and Raquel are knowledgeable about horticulture, they're patient, great collaborators, and really care about your home and project. Steve is passionate about what he does and it clearly shows, he pays attention to every little detail. The budget is also considered and adhered to properly. I'd like to mention that we did a complete re-do of our backyard. We had a large deck that was built around a tree and took up 80% of the yard. Steve and his team demo'd the entire deck, but they left us a cute little mini deck by our bedroom door, with steps leading down to the crushed rock paths. He also removed the weeds and the root system to prevent them from returning. Above all, his team is very creative and willing to suggest different ideas along the way that will improve the quality of your yard and home. I reached out to Awaken Landscapes about some landscaping needs in my backyard. (I have included some before and after pictures). We hadn't done much with the backyard since we moved in and life got so busy that our yard was starting to become very overgrown. We found Awaken Landscapes and they were very quick to respond. I spoke with Steve who was able to quickly fit me in for a quote. I expressed my concerns with the backyard and what I would like done with it. Our biggest concern was the overgrown foliage, weeds, and moving a large planter box. Steve said him and his team could easily remedy our concerns. My sister and I had removed some of the sod ourselves but were unable to complete the job due to time and energy. Unlike most other companies who send hired arborists for estimates, the owner Steve who is a licensed arborist actually came out himself and thoroughly walk through all the work needed to be done.  He is very knowledgeable and made very good suggestions on how to handle all the different trees we have.  The estimate was very reasonable and scheduling was a breeze.  The best part though is the amazing crew working on site.  The entire crew is extremely professional and Steve also showed on the job site to make sure everything runs smoothly.  Marty and Don in particular really went above and beyond in working on every tree with the greatest attention to detail from pruning to hedging to trimming to everything else.  The crew cleaned up very well after completing the job on time.  I am very pleased with their work. We had a generally positive experience with the company for some recent tree removal work in our yard. We had five trees in total to remove, and the crew was incredibly fast and efficient, and payment details are all managed through an online portal, which lessens any risk in today's pandemic climate. A couple of things end up dinging the score for us: - Scheduling was a bit difficult and haphazard, though this could potentially be chalked up to the fact that the company admin is relatively new in role. - We had warned the crew in advance that we had some underground electrical wiring that we did not want harmed in the process of tree removal, and that we were willing to schedule more time if it was needed to ensure no damage done to the wiring. Unfortunately, we had multiple lines completely cut and severed, so our outdoor yard lighting isn't functional anymore. If you have a simple tree removal job, I'd recommend this company - the fact that they have a registered arborist on their team is great. But if you have complex wiring and/or sprinkler system, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Last year we used http://www.arbormagic.com/ after being recommended them and had a good experience with them. They took down a couple smaller/deader trees (they left very little tree debris behind!), did windsail reduction on a couple big ones, put up some securing ropes on another, gave me tips on what to do with one far back and not currently an issue, and were able to leave some of the woodchips where I asked :) I didn't do too much price comparison but was happy with what they quoted. read more

What stood out to us though was when there was a significant wind storm and a tree fell on our property. The end product was very nice, and I'm still appreciating the work they did 1 1/2 years later, although the workers didn't clean up some of the trimmings they left on the sidewalk and weren't happy when I asked them to come back and clean them up. Last Summer, I had One 50 feet tall Alder tree cut&trimmed down about 15 feet from the top, my total services were around $700 by Arbor Magic Tree Services. I was very busy at the time, no time to get more quotes from others, I got their flyer from the mail, called and got the job done within a few days. This Summer, I just had Two 50 feet tall Alder trees cut&trimmed down about 25 feet from the top, my total services were around $650 by a different Tree Service (A "Local" Charitable Mission"). Over the Memorial Day weekend, I called several tree removal service companies about a small tree job. Steve Durgan (owner) from Arbor Magic was the first to return my call and to set up the free estimate appointment after the holiday. Steve called to let me know when he was 30 minutes away. After a brief site survey, Steve was able to give me a couple options and quotes. I signed the contract on the spot because I was satisfied with the price, the schedule, and the way how Steve conducted his business. Steve treated me fairly and honestly. Not to mention Arbor Magic is licensed, bonded,and insured in WA state. And on the next day Steve's crew show up as promised. Steve's men were all professionals and knowledgeable in the trade. When the first worker arrived by car and before others, he immediately went to work, by climbing up a tree and trimmed off the low hanging branches that were blocking my view, all without sitting around and wasting time. The entire job was done in less than two hours. They fed the tree branches into the wood chipper and took the tree trunks away as part of the agreement. The last ten minutes was spent cleaning up the site and blowing away the loose chips and dust on the driveway. I'd strongly recommend Arbor Magic for your next tree removal or pruning job. We had some firs and cedars in our backyard that needed a lot of trimming. Two of which had ivy growing all the way up them that needed removal (a laborious task for tree service companies). Also needed three others cut down (sad, but necessary). Steve showed up for the estimate when he said he would and gave us a very fair price and since we were having so much work done, gave us a good discount. The crew came out a few days later and knocked out the work like it was nothing. The result of the extensive thinning was much more light into our yard while maintaining a natural look to the trees. Our backyard privacy was not compromised despite the amount of branches removed. Very thoughtful removals of the branches. I was called the NEXT DAY to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction. May 31,2012 Bill Hodgson Woodinville, WA Tree Removal by Arbor Magic Tree Service 130 ft pole fir died. Berl from Arbor Magic was canvasing the area on the Memorial day weekend. He told me what Arbor would do to remove the tree and estimated the net cost, date, chipping, drop, cut rounds, have another business remove all the tree remains. I searched the net for all the specifics for Arbor as well as Service Magic's suggestions. after about 5 hours of research, I called Berl and okayed the work. Arbor came out at 7:50am 2 days after ok for job, with 4 man crew and 2 hours later they had the tree in rounds ready for pickup. John showed up about 1 hour later and after 4 hours the tree rounds were gone. The people are excellent and friendly. Price is very reasonable and the crew cleans up after themselves. read more

We recently hired Arbor Magic to remove about 20 trees from our property. That included the removal of a very large fir tree. It was a big job spanning four days including stump grinding. I am impressed by the quality of service of Arbor Magic Tree. We scheduled a tree pruning services for the trees in my backyard. There is one tree that is at the boundary of my house and my neighbor house. Since there was a trailer in my neighbor house, the crew said that they will only prune the tree on my side and they will come back on another day to prune the tree on my neighbor side after the trailer get moved. Then Alex helped scheduling their return trip to finish the remaining work. I like how they take safety of my house and my neighbor house seriously and are willing to do extra work to make sure that. Within two hours there was a person at my house assessing the damage and scheduling the removal. They were able to do the work in less than two weeks. When they arrived, their crew was quick and efficient and removed three small trees and trimmed 6 others plus our hedge.
