I haven't even received my new glasses l, but I had to write a review ASAP about my experience. Although I did not get an eye exam and just came for new frames and lenses, I imagine I would have received the same amazing customer service as my experience frame shopping. I've had glasses for 28 years. Whenever I get new frames, I am THEE most particular, nit-picky person when choosing them. I select MULTIPLE frames to try, video call friends, take photos, ask staff... I wear my glasses for EVERYTHING, so I want to love them thoroughly. Bridgette assisted me in choosing frames. They had a great selection, too. I wanted to get more of an out of norm frame than my usual (black, square rayban type frames). After choosing about 10+ frames, we got on to narrowing down my choices. Once we got down to five, I FaceTime my BF, and the three of us begin trying to narrow it down to the one frame we all agreed on was best. They are network of my insurance and I went to order my contact lenses. From the moment I walked in they were very dismissive, which I should've left by then. I proceeded with ordering my contacts and receptionist girl informed me that they will text me once contacts are delivered. Nothing for day 14th and I called following Monday. Yes, contacts are in , but nothing else was said. Now I have to wait until Saturday to pick up my contacts since they open during business hours. No service was provided as it was promised not sure it works for other clients but for me no go. I will find different place to order my contacts next time. I've been a patient of Dr. Silver for a very long time. I work in the film business, and knew he was the best and in fact used him to provide specialized lenses for a few films. But I had LASIK, and got lax with my eye care because I could see perfectly, and so hadn't seen him in awhile. Fast forward ten+ years, when I'd already given in to drug store readers but still wasn't diligent about my eye care and ended up with a chalazion (clogged duct). I went to a nearby optometrist for a quick check, was given an antibiotic ointment and sent on my way. Problem solved. Except that it wasn't - it continued to get bigger! It was time for the big guns - I knew who I had to see. And was very quickly reminded why Dr. Silver is the best. He took at least a solid hour to examine me and explain why I got the chalazion (based on my own physiology) and what I needed to do in the future to prevent them. Could not have gotten better care anywhere. As a result of the visit it was pretty clear that drug store readers were not great for me, as my prescription is different in each eye. So I decided to grab a legit pair while I was there, where my top notch care continued with Rosalina, who helped me find the perfect pair, look up my insurance, and lock it all down at a great price. This is my number one spot for optometry for good reason! On my recent visit Dr. Stacy Sommer and her wonderful staff who are always so pleasant and informative were excellent! I had lost my glasses and they did an emergency appointment and her staff got me right in even though the doctor stayed late for me! Dr. Sumner explained something to me no one ever has about my eye condition and saw to it that special optics were corrected and my prescription I was so impressed with her knowledge and care! I was referred to Dr. Stacey Sumner, O.D. in Sherman Oaks as my night time vision was beginning to get slightly blurry. I hadn't seen an eye doctor since 2001, so I was apprehensive for my appointment as seeing a new eye doctor welcomes a tremendous opportunity to chastise me for procrastinating for 13 years. The lobby / waiting area is comfortable and the receptionists welcomed me. I barely had time to complete my first time visitors paperwork before I was asked to come right back to begin my vision exam. The nurse was kind and competent with the first exercises then she escorted me to the private eye exam room to wait for Dr. Sumner. Dr. Sumner came in to greet me within minutes, her hand out stretched and she welcomed me with genuine dialogue. She made me feel competent, regardless of the 13 year lapse in my last eye exam and her bedside manner is the tops. She answered any questions I had throughout the exam. And although my vision is 20/15 she discovered a slight stigma which has warranted some new accessories for my face. I found a lovely set of frames with her associates at Professional Vision Group. I have had two general eye exams/prescription appointments now and I can't say enough about how caring, attentive, and knowledgable the staff is! Dr. Sumner is fabulous, not only does she know what she is doing, you can see that she truly cares about her craft and is meticulous. I have never in my life felt compelled to write a review for an optometrist until now. My visit yesterday was informative,thorough, and dare I say, fun? As much as any doctor visit can be. The front office staff was quick and efficient and Dr. Sumner was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and very funny. She took time to explain things to me that not one optometrist has ever bothered to do so and it is clear that she takes eye health very seriously. I am also on day 2 of an awesome contact lens recommendation and though I normally buy online instead of from the doctor, the office's pricing on contacts seems fair. Also, they have this awesome machine that takes pictures of the inside of your eye, as opposed to having to do a dilation, and the cost for that is reasonable and I actually found the pictures to be fascinating. The experience with the optometrist was great. The experience with the optical department was unacceptable in almost every instance. Wait times in the optical department are excessive, over 45 minutes on my last visit. I understand that wait time is unavoidable, but it seems excessive here compared with other opticians. I would recommend them for eye exams only, but would caution people to avoid their optical department,and order your glasses elsewhere. read more
