I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. I brought my car in on October 6th 2025 for a diagnostic knowing I needed an oil change and possibly had an oil leak. I paid $130 for what was supposed to be a full diagnostic.. a thorough report of issues found after inspection. Instead, I got a single vague paragraph on paper (quote 1) summarizing $2,000+ in repairs with no itemized breakdown. I asked for photos, and they showed me pictures of my engine filters (note you have to get pass air ducts for this). Later that day I requested an itemized quote and suddenly the total dropped by nearly $1,000. Some of the issues just disappeared from the quote. That was my first red flag. How does a "diagnosis" of the same car change that drastically within hours? What did I pay $130 for if not an accurate inspection and record of the car's condition? I decided to check things myself. I ordered my own cabin, engine, and oil filters online for around $35 total (they quoted $180). I replaced the cabin filter in five minutes. Then I went to replace the engine air filter and immediately saw two large tears in both air intake ducts ... the hoses that deliver air into the engine (pre-filter at least). But both were completely ripped. This was never mentioned in either diagnostic, quote 1 or 2 despite being obvious... I paid $130 for them to "inspect" my car, and they missed something anyone could see under the hood? That's not just sloppy... it's negligent. And since accessing the engine filter requires moving those ducts, they had to have seen it. So, recap: I paid $130 for a diagnostic that missed two gaping holes in the air intake ducts something front and center. If I hadn't checked, I'd still be driving with this glaring issue. It's hard not to wonder if I was brushed off because I'm a woman. Im not the type to take someone's word without checking. This felt either lazy or deliberately dishonest. Fast forward to October 11, I came back for what I assumed would be a simple oil change. I'd already paid $130 for the lacking diagnostic, I believe I was informed with my initial quote that would go towards other services. Nope. They charged another $160. But I didn't have the energy to argue and I was planning to bring up the ducts. No one mentioned them... not even when I asked if there were any other issues. So I walked outside opened the hood pointed at the ripped hose and asked "What's this, and why wasn't it in my diagnostic?" The man looks me dead in the eye and says, "Oh, that's not really a big deal... most people don't fix that." Excuse me? I paid for a diagnosis and someone decided this shouldn't be included. Make it make sense. After pressing, he admits it should be replaced... something I already knew since I'd ordered both ducts for $30 online. Then he gives me a verbal quote of $55. I ask him to print it (because I'm not doing he said she said). He writes it up adding "no labor charge" like he's doing me a favor. I already had both parts sitting in my car. When I got home, I realized the quote was for one side the one I'd pointed at. Both were torn. At this point, I've lost all trust in this location. They're not transparent, not thorough, and the way they handled my situation was insulting. I hoped I could trust them with my car, but instead I learned a hard lesson. I'll now personally verify every service I pay for. If you rely on shops for maintenance.. open your hood. Watch a few videos. Understand what's being done before paying the "convenience" premium. Many of these fixes are simple and inexpensive. TL;DR: - Paid $130 for a "diagnostic" that missed two huge air duct tears. - Received inconsistent quotes -- price dropped $1,000 after asking for details. - No transparency or accountability. - Dismissive attitude when confronted. - Trust broken. I got a scratch and a dent in the door of a friend's car. I took it to multiple places to get quotes one place quoted me $4000. Adam took care of it for a fraction of that cost and did an incredible job. On top of that, he was the nicest person, and it made me feel really comfortable, which as a woman dealing with cars is view and far between. I've been going to Adam Auto since 2018, but the service quality has gone downhill over the years. What used to be a reliable shop has turned into a place that feels more focused on squeezing money out of customers than actually helping them. I brought my car in because the AC stopped working. I explained the issue upfront, but they still charged me $130 for a "diagnosis." Then they quoted me $1,500 to replace the AC. That seemed high, so I took my car to T&D Auto in Hawthorne and got the same repair done for $900. Big difference. To make matters worse, Adam, the owner, has been buying up the other auto shops in the same lot. So even if you try to go somewhere else nearby, you're likely dealing with the same inflated pricing and questionable practices. Avoid Adam Auto if you value honest service and fair pricing. There are better shops out there that won't nickel-and-dime you or take advantage of loyal customers. read more

Holy, Moly!!! I feel like I've found the Holy Grail!!! This place is amazing. The whole staff are friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and thorough! It's located in a small shopping center with several other repair shops and smog testing facilities. But they are the REAL find!!! Adam and his son were welcoming, easy to talk to, and really took the time to help me out. They started with an oil change and then gave my car a thorough check. I wish to respond to the major false allegations made by the owner of Adam's Complete Auto Repair. The owner wrote as follows: "While the vehicle had not shown any symptoms yet, you informed us over the phone that the tow truck driver told you the problem is the fuel pump. Without any results from our diagnosis yet, you told us the issue should be fixed with the fuel pump." The above is false. I am NOT a mechanic. After the work was already completed, I reminded the owner of Adam's (over the phone) what the tow truck driver told me and what he told the employees (in my presence) when he drove me and towed my car to the facility. It was the tow truck driver who made the repair recommendations. Again, I am not a mechanic nor do I know the tow truck driver. I was asked if I approved of having the repair done. What was I to say except that I approve or did not approve? Not being a mechanic, why would I not approve. It was the tow truck driver who convinced me to go to the Adam's facility even though I was initially going to a different dealer to fix my car. The driver said that he knew someone at the Adam's facility. The owner also wrote "We did not force you to accept any services at any point." This is a strange response to a review. How could the owner "force" me to have repairs? I merely repeated, after my car was towed to the facility, what the tow truck driver said to the person who checked in my car. The owner also said "This was a result of your impatience." The day after my car was towed to the facility, I asked again when my car would be ready (because I was renting a car and needed to tell the car rental agency when I would bring back the car.) Now the owner insisted in his review that I was rushing his facility, which was false. The owner also wrote "Regarding the credit card fee- our payment policy, including applicable transaction fees, is clearly posted at our front desk where every transaction is conducted." Under California's "Hidden Fees Statute," SB 478, any required charge, including credit card surcharges, must be included in the upfront, advertised/listed price on invoices or during transactions. If the owner looks at my invoice, the credit card fee is not shown nor indicated on my invoice. The credit card fee is hidden in the total amount charged to my credit card. The charge to my card was $1,501.67 but the invoice says $1,444.05. There was no disclosure except when I paid. I did not have any blank checks with me nor did I bring that much money. To add to the confusion, the owner wrote, regarding the failure to disclose the credit card fee, "You were also informed of the fee prior to arriving onsite." My question is, why would I be informed of a credit card fee prior to my arrival? I did not know that I was going to Adam's facility until the tow truck driver convinced me to change my original intent of using a different facility and accompany him to Adam's facility? There was no discussion of a credit card fee. The excuse for not issuing the partial refund (that would have brought this matter to a close), is suspect. Very often, a credit card amount is credited back to a customer without the customer present. The owner has now forced the necessity to resolve this matter in small claims court and with other State agencies. read more

Went in to get a whole bunch of maintenance done, oil change plus strut replacements, bushing, whole lot of stuff. Got a call detailing the work would be done by EoD which was really great as I didn't know how long it would take. They even sent an email because itemizing everything. Unfortunately, a spindle was cracked during installation of a strut and an employee called me right away to explain what happened and what the next steps would be. I went in and they showed me what happened and how it happened with very detailed explanations. Annoying circumstance? Sure, but I don't believe malicious. Is this loaner car a brand new top of the line car you would get at a dealership? Obviously not, but for a last minute problem it'll do in a pinch. Shit happens, They let me know and were able to tell me about the problem and solutions. Do I wish it didn't happen? Yeah of course, but for a problem that could happen anywhere they handled it best as they could bar having a time machine. read more

During my appointment, I later checked my dashcam footage and saw the new young mechanic going through my personal belongings inside the car. Nothing was stolen, but it was a clear invasion of privacy and extremely unprofessional. I didn't bring it up at the time, but I've avoided the shop ever since. Reasonably priced on some things and will overcharge you on others. They told me it would be around $800 to fix my headlight because a part from the dealership would be expensive. I had previously gotten my starter fixed here and they were efficient and reasonably priced. I ended up finding the headlight part for much cheaper on Amazon, but Adams would not install it. Totally fine IMO since it was their policy. However, i ended up finding another place that would install the third-party part for a half the price. When i told Adams i was going to a different shop that could install it, they suddenly changed their mind and decided they actually could do what i wanted lol It's clear they just wanted to overcharge me for the dealership part which would have been fine if they stuck to their OG story, but all of a sudden changing their mind when I was going to go somewhere else annoyed me!! read more

I took my new 2024 Corolla hybrid in today (2/2/24) for a Cat Shield installation. It was much cheaper than the local Toyota dealership. I've also been there before to take care of my 2002 Camry for oil changes etc. One time, it needed a new wheel bearing (I was able to hear the whooshing sound so I could guess what the problem was). As a single woman going to an auto repair shop alone, I never felt like I was being ripped off. Adam did not push any services on to me. He provides options (I've always declined unless it was absolutely necessary, such as the wheel bearing). My uncle is also a mechanic, so whatever Adam recommended, I would always call my uncle on the phone to bypass with him first. Perhaps that's why I never felt ripped off either. Very satisfied. I've recommended many others to this place as well. UPDATE: Some time after the installation of my Cat Shield, I realized I accidentally left the security key bits at Adam's shop. I called 10 days later (on 2/12/24) and Adam and his team still had it! Here's a shout out to Eddy for taking care of it and thank you Chuy for such great work. This review is based on an Oil Change service. I called on a Monday morning to ask if they had time to change oil in my car and they did so I drove on by. When I got there, they had barely opened and were washing the floor which is good to see that they maintain there work area clean. I asked for Mobil 1, and based on my mileage they recommended on the grade for a reasonable price. The oil change took less than 30 min. They also topped off the fluids and gave recommendations for additional service. Thumbs up if you need an oil change! The team seems nice, friendly, and treated me very well. AVOID THIS PLACE! I brought my car in for an oil change and when I was leaving I noticed the low tire pressure light was on. It was NOT on when I brought the car to him! So I told Adam and he said to bring it in the next day. He could have easily taken a look at it and filled the tire with air right then but he didn't. He is not a friendly or welcoming guy at all. I got the feeling he couldn't be bothered with customer service. I did not have time to bring it to him the next day which was too bad because that evening when I was on the freeway, the tire blew. Luckily I was able to pull off safely. I called AAA and they came and put on the spare tire. I now have to replace the tire (it's not fixable) and the one on the other side. This is going to cost me hundreds of dollars! There was nothing wrong with the tire when I brought it in!! Also had this paint stain from scratching our garage beam a few months ago and Adam was able to remove the stain! Got my Prius battery replaced and while I'm happy that they got the job done, they do fish you in when you call for a quote. Beware of the price estimate they give you on the phone as this is likely going to be higher once they actually "look under the hood". Transparency is hard to come by these days. For a 12 volt replacement it's about ~$300 and this seemed to be the average in other shops too In terms of service I dropped it off around 11am and it was finished just right before closing at 5pm. Took a bit longer than expected but apparently they needed to find a battery from a supplier somewhere. read more

If you're like me and don't know as much about car maintenance and what services they may recommend / when you should actually do those services (ex. do this service after 50k miles) - you should do a little bit research on it. I found these mechanics while I was browsing Yelp for good recommendations. They were quite responsive on Yelp and easy to work with when I gave them a call to schedule an appointment. Overall, the staff were friendly and the process was smooth and quick. I came for an oil change and got quoted for $60! Definitely the most affordable one I've seen so far. I really appreciate how they made sure to mention that they strive to keep the price that I paid the same as what I was quoted. They also estimated a 40 min turnaround time and it was quite accurate lol. They offered to do an inspection as well, but I declined. Appreciated the thought though!
