The shop was empty when we walked in and they rushed to cater to him. Great cut and great customer service. She wore a mask and PPE and nobody else was in here so social distancing plus. This barber shop is legit and it's cheap. $15 for a fade/taper. Got cut by Willie, who happens to be a true pro. Not gonna lie, most of my previous barbers were Mexican so I was a bit skeptical about Willie, an Asian gentleman, being able to fade me up with the attention to detail that I'm used to, but the man did a really good job. I have lived in the Costa Mesa area for six months and have had my hair cut several times at different locales. I am not picky about my hair but do not like the Orange County cost for a simple hair cut. Today, I happened by Vista Barber Shop and gave it a go. I went in and had a lady by the name of Sophia cut my hair, and she did a fabulous job. Sophia was the best, happy, friendly, made me feel like a friend and she is very good at cutting hair. I have been coming to this Barbershop for the last 20 years. First I went to Ray then Estella, and now I go to Kelley. Kelley and the shop are doing a great job of trying to protect everyone from COVID. Kelley wears a mask and I wore one too. When she cut around my ears she skillfully pulled the elastic off my ears but held the mask tight to my face. Additionally, her barber chair is right next to the open door and she has a fan pulling in the air from the outside and dissipating and any bad stuff inside the shop. Finally, another gentleman came for a haircut and he waited outside until my hair cut was done...very cool guy...I suggest we all do that! I got a great haircut in a very safe fashion for a reasonable price of $15... I tipped heavily because I think we all need to support shops like Kelley so that they remain open during this tough time. read more

Vista Barber Shop... Wow. Willy took care of me, and the man can cut hair. His attention to detail is bar none. He uses an electric razor to get it way down to the skin, and then takes the straight Razor with traditional hot soap and ensures that your fade is truly skin tight. I'll be back. So after seeing the 5 stars rating and the fact that it wasn't tagged as an expensive place I figured sure I'll give it a try. Boy what a Royal mistake that was. So this darker complexion latina girl (forgot to ask her name) became available almost immediately after I arrived there. She motioned me to come over to have a seat so she can cut my hair. So I proceeded to sit in her chair. I explained to her how I wanted my hair cut. I also told her how I brush my hair and everything, to which she replied "Ok". So I said to myself "hmm cool she's smart and picked up everything I said quickly". First of all, she never allowed me to face the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. Second, not only did she screw up my haircut but she murdered it. Third, she never said "sorry" not once. Instead, she got mad at me first; shit excuse me for complaining. How rude of me. Fifth, she had the nerve to tell Estella (manager or owner) that I told her to do all the screw-ups she did with my hair. Shameless. So anyway, Estella showed some concern and ended up not charging me. In conclusion, if you do decide to get your hair cut there I suggest to stay as far away as possible from that latina girl or else be ready to be potentially murdered, well your haircut that is. I walked in around 1pm on a Wednesday. There was only one woman working in the back and she called me over to sit in the "salon" section in the rear of the barber shop. The woman who works there spent about 10 minutes talking to another woman who had visited the shop to ask for a small loan. They were speaking in Spanish. I look like a white guy but I speak Spanish. I wanted to walk out, but I really needed a haircut. I really should have just walked out when I saw that there were no actual barbers working at the three barber chairs in the front of the shop. I went here due to all the 5 star reviews for the barbers named Raul and Marcelo but they weren't around. Once my haircut finally started, she took 3 phone calls and spoke for a few minutes during each call. They sounded like personal calls, not other customers. During the last phone call she told the person that she had a client, which appeased my frustrations a little bit. The haircut was fine except for my sideburns were lopsided with one side being longer by 3/4 of an inch. I noticed it today when I was shaving. So I would avoid this place unless you are specifically going for the barbers mentioned in other reviews. read more

So they advertise on Yelp and on there window that they open at 9am on Sundays. I was going to give this place a try for the first time. Saturday I was looking up places to get a fresh cut and I came across this place and saw that they would open at 9am Sunday. As like many of us who value time I should up 10 min early (8:50am) on Sunday and waited till 9:20am. No one showed up to open the place and no sign on the window regarding opening at a later time. I left and took my business elsewhere. Not willing to do business and get service from a place that is not consistent. Technically this is false advertisement. WOW, I was recommended here by a coworker. I am always nervous about going to a new place for a haircut, but I had moved over 30 minutes away from my previous place. Walked in and was immediately greeted by Marlo. He sat me down and asked what I wanted. He took his time and was extremely detailed. First off , going into this place I was nervous not knowing what kind of cut I would end up with . But upon arriving I met Raul. Who's very understanding about your needs. Made me feel at ease .
