This was a really great place to shop. The fruits and vegetables looked so fresh. I was very impressed with the mushroom selections, much more selection than where I live in Florida. Garden Center. Cheese shop. Deli area. Coffee station where you(?) (someone?)can grind your own beans, etc- are not the answers to the $100,000 Pyramid. But answers to what's Adam's Fairacre Farms Supermarket offers in Lake Katrine, NY about a hair away from Kingston. It's just a real delight. Hubs and I have bought produce from a local farmer's market in Phoenicia, purchased shrubs and plants from a nursery in Woodstock and gone to a supermarket in Woodstock as well. But if it's easy-breezy, shopping under one roof you're after, Adam's is it. While Adam's draws kind of a big crowd, the whole environment of this supermarket makes me feel comfortable and happy. Do know that Adam's doesn't participate in any loyalty point programs (when we asked)- so the prices you see, is what you'll get. They have the right products at the right prices for me I think and again, it's almost like one-stop shopping. They have all the major commercial brands and even some international finds as well. Garden Center is varied- not as huge as Lowe's or Home D. but they have a wonderful supply of mulch, bulbs and such. read more

I just bought cubed pineapple ready to eat for $7.34, and I've been trying to eat it, but it is all the core of the pineapple. First of all, why would they do that second of all what are they doing with the pineapple? I mean they're not putting it in this container so they must be using it somewhere else extremely disappointed in Adams. Apparently they don't care about health codes. There was a woman shopping with a full cart, and it included her dog in the cart. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt many employees saw her and said nothing. Guess Adam's is either immune from getting health codes violations or they just don't care. Ugh. read more

I love Adam's. When we lived in Woodstock, we went there all the time for fruit and vegetables. Their baked goods are delicious and you can do your grocery shopping as well. Their greenhouse is a little paradise and when the weather is warm, the outdoor garden center has everything you need for your property. Christmas time is a great time to visit for the decorations. When it's busy, which is often, the parking lot can be a bit of a nightmare and you must be very careful. read more

I arrived @350 pm,no noodles.Another potential customer patiently waiting says he already informed Adams Personnel of this.30 minutes later B4 I checked out went by Ramen buffet area & still no noodles with 3 additional people waiting.Noticed other 2 buffet areas(ie salad bar & hot buffet area)well stocked with no empties.So sad they couldn't keep noodles stocked as no noodles at a Ramen buffet equals NO SALES! Love this grocery store if you are up in Duchess County area. This is the place with all the fixings to make Indian from scratch. Large containers of Spices, Paneer, Jars of sauces, Korma, Tikka, Fresh Ginger and a selection of Naan~ in front of the deli area-not bread aisle-although a bit of a hunt. But there is so much other great stuff, beware being distracted from your list! So many snacky things almost detracted me several times. I loved the cheese samples, whenever i got turned around, they kept my energy going. So many delicious bites! I think I entered though the garden side which almost had me shopping there. Lovely, plants and flowers. They have everything! Meat Counter, Deli Counter, Bakery Area. It will always be my "go to" when I am in town. My partner lives in Saugerties, so I have lost track of the number of times we have driven by this place. We always thought it was just a giant garden center. When we stopped, we thought all of the vehicles in the parking lot were just getting snow shovels, and other hardware for the upcoming storm. Roy, were we surprised. The place is huge. They do have a good size garden center, but they also have a candy counter, meat, fish, produce, cheese, Hot food bars, a decent, bakery, as well as regular and specialty groceries. They also have a decent sized seating area where you can eat what you bought. It reminded us of a cross between Whole Foods, and Stew Leonards, only with a garden center attached. My partner got some herbs, seeds, and soil, and we also got some delicious chocolates, some fantastic, blueberry preserves, Some amazing apple cider, and some delicious apple cider donuts, as well as other groceries that we needed. The prices were very reasonable for what we got. Everybody in the store was also very friendly. When we got out to the car, we realized that the bag of soil had a small hole in it. I took it back inside, and grabbed a different bag. I took them both to the checkout, and started to pull out the receipt, and the lady just said, "oh, you're OK. I saw you in the other checkout line." This was a great store, and a great experience. We will be back. Thank you. read more

We went shopping today to buy items for an early prep for Thanksgiving. Included in our produce selection were Apples for a pie. Got home and caught a whiff of mold while removing these Apples from the bag. Yes, the smell of mold and also the taste would absolutely RUIN a fresh baked Apple Pie! Thankfully I was able to get some FRESH, MOLD FREE and UNWAXED Apples at Stop and Shop. Adam's produce is very questionable. This is not the first time I have gotten produce that was smelling/tasting like mold! Broccoli, Green Beans, Radishes, Potatoes are just a few items that were returned this past year. I don't know where this Dept's problem lies.....cheap suppliers with low standards perhaps? A dirty storage cooler? It needs to be addressed and corrected. Adam's is where my meals begin, Produce is a MAJOR part of the planning. If I can't trust your fruits and vegetables to be the absolute best in the Hudson Valley, why should I continue to shop here? read more

You will not find higher quality meat, produce, seafood, Deli, or bakery goods in this area. They also have indoor and outdoor plants , home decor, and gardening supplies. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the candy department And fresh brew coffee. You can literally do your shopping and buy things that are ready to eat and eat them in their café. ADAMS is much more than a store. It is more of a destination experience. I have been to all of their locations and they are all equally nice. If you are in the Hudson valley area, don't miss a chance to go to Adams. I had to come back on and mention a few things about the store. When I was there, last time, I bought a quiche, sushi, and some pastries. The quiche was out of this world, cut off a slice and heat it up in the microwave for about 45 seconds delicious. The sushi had huge chunks of fish in it way better than what I've had in restaurants. The tiramisu and Napoleon were phenomenal. I recommend you try these things if you go to Adams read more

Obviously you enjoy the groceries, but their catering is on point! I've been able to get food for family get togethers and gatherings for totally reasonable rates. I bought some fish at the seafood counter today and cooked it up for dinner tonight. There was something very wrong with it. It fell apart upon pan frying it. I've cooked flounder this way many times. It was advertised as Wild caught flounder from Maine which sounded good and also looked fresh. I've purchased seafood from Adams before and it has been good but I had never bought this particular fish. I have to wonder if it was treated somehow. read more

Adams allows dogs in the store which is against the health code for obvious reasons. Practically every time I go in I see someone walking around with a dog (and NO I'm not talking about well needed service dogs I'm talking about pets). I'd advise anyone shopping there to NOT buy food such as produce that is not in sealed containers. I like dogs, but not when I have to wonder if one was drooling on the food I just bought or if the wet spot on the floor is just some spilled water or 'something else". I decided to stop shopping here but If Adams starts abiding with Health codes it would be great to shop there again someday. Knowing they look the other way allowing animals in the store for all to see, makes me wonder what other health codes are being violated that customers don't see. Fresh produce (so many local apples right now!), great deli, amazing prepared foods (I'm a huge fans of their wings). Make sure you don't miss the confections in their own little enclave; usually I pick up childhood favorites that my Oma used to bring from Germany, but today I grabbed some chocolate covered orange peel and they're delicious. There's multiple hot soups daily (today I got Mexican street corn soup and pasta fagioli), fresh baked breads and pastries, and a crazy selection of cheeses. Some of their items are priced a little high, so maybe you don't want to do your whole grocery run here, but I was surprised to notice their Boars Head cold cuts were less expensive than the chain supermarket down the road. One word of caution: the parking lot is a mess. I've witnessed 3 accidents just this year. Make sure you're really looking around when you pull in and out. When my friend passed this place on a trip through the area she said to me while passing it, WOW you have never been and that I must go. So we continued on and would pass back on our way back home. A foodies paradise is the only way to explain this store. As I walked in it looked like just a regular market but as I took it all in I could see they had marvelous specialty items. Many items are made in house as well such as baked goods, meats and entrees you may not want to cook at home but can bring home for dinner. The cheese selection is amazing and there are some awesome choices that are imported. Since they were about to close they were taking some things (veggies & fish) away for the night to keep fresh, probably I assume a place cooler. Every time I attempt to ask a question, they buzz along like they don't hear me, even when I'm right in front of them. Every time. But it's not enough to keep me away from my go-to market. Adams in Kingston did a beautiful job with my wedding flowers this May. Rachel was extremely easy to work with. I wanted simple bouquets and she understood that right away. Other florists had said, "This is what I would do" and didn't seem to listen to me. Being that they are a florist, I didn't have to imagine my bouquets and table pieces, she built them right in front of me pulling our actual flowers not just pictures. When the flowers came into the shop, she emailed me about them. And they were reasonably priced. Flowers were delivered right on time. I couldn't have asked for more. read more

Went to adams to buy tomatoes, 2 weeks ago, at check out I was charged for hydroponics tomatoes $1.99 lb I call the cashiers attention to it and she changed it to 99¢ a lb. For regular tomatoes. Again I go back yesterday for more tomatoes (we like their tomatoes) the cashier again rang them up as hydrophobic tomatoes, I called her attention to it, which she thanked me, and said the tomatoes don't have a sticker on them so we guess at the price! Just cut into a custom baked carrot birthday cake, from the AFF bakery. I thought it felt pretty heavy when I bought it, and when I cut into it I found out why. It's 80 percent heavy frosting. There is literally an inch of actual cake; which is completely dry BTW. Just inedible. I have never had such a terrible cake before. Avoid. read more

Beautiful store. Great produce. Hot food options look amazing. I personally haven't tried the hot food section but it's always busy and looks amazing. Cheese options are plentiful. I got their homemade burrata which in my opinion wasn't burrata. The mozzarella outside was delicious but it tasted like ricotta inside. It was good but not the stracciatella that I love. Coffee section as amazing and I ended up leaving with 6 bags of coffee (I travel here and had to check a bag when going home but so worth it). The bakery...... DELICIOUS. I've gotten two cakes from here so far and I can't wait to get more. I use any reason you to get a cake from here. Definitely a must visit place read more

What do you need? Adams probably has it. They've got all the produce you're looking for, including apples, berries, lettuces, herbs, bok choy and bok choy babies.* They've got the soy milk you need to buy because evidently no one in your family drinks real milk any more, the sour cream you need because latkes are a Thanksgivvikuh must, and the apple cider you want because apple cider is always welcome. They've got a butcher's counter for your meaty needs, a surprisingly stocked seafood section, plenty of cheese, ham, and other things you might want. They've got flowers, gift baskets and housewares for when you do something stupid and you need to make amends with your lady. They've even got Underberg, which my booze nerd of a brother insisted we buy in bulk. I still don't know what it is really, but it's good to drink after gorging yourself during the most American holiday there is. All of these things are well-laid out, fairly priced, and stocked by nice folks. We had been living in Poughkeepsie & enjoyed weekly shopping visits to Adams! It has always had a vast array of fruits, vegetables excellent meats, cheeses & anything edible that you could imagine ! If you needed plants for your garden, flowers , you'd head to Adams! My son started working there after school when he was in high school, & he then learned the names of vegetables & fruits he hadn't wanted try at home ! Now we have moved from the beautiful Hudson Valley, but whenever we go back to visit, we try to get to Adams Fairacre Farms!! It's a tradition that many others continue after they've moved away!! This might be the best grocery store I've been to- their fish counter is great- and the service is wonderful. Even during the crazy before Christmas shopping they were spacing people, had plenty of stock and the staff was so courteous and helpful. Their produce is divided- organic/not organic, the selection is fresh and varied and their specials really add to their fair prices. Don't get me started on the bakery.... I'm just going to say the whole back of the store has smelled like fresh cider doughnuts and you can't help but buy a half dozen! read more

This Adams just keeps getting better and better, and I really need to get here more often. It's been a while since I was last here, so some of the specialty areas and the hot food station were new to me. No two Adams stores are alike, and they're all great. Compared to the one in Poughkeepsie I most often visit, I think the produce prices are often more competitive here. I was disappointed that I could not find grass-fed beef in the meat department here, something I buy often in the Poughkeepsie store. But overall they have a much more interesting variety of meats here, by comparison. That includes various types of bacons and sausages (yet another brand of duck sausage here to tempt me). Even more interesting were the frozen kobe beef patties and the Durham Ranch ground wild boar, ground rabbit, and ground ... KANGAROO?!?!?! Wow. Yeah, that about sums it up... wow! read more

If you want food with mold on it shop here. Got a cake for my daughter's 1st bithday, we cut into the cake and there was green mold all through the cake. The rolls we ordered also had mold on them. the cold cut platter had slime on the ham and the turkey and the veggie and fruit trays had old carrots that had turned white and the strawberries had black spots on them. Zero help from the store manager, she was down right nasty when we called. don't buy anything from this store unless you want to get sick read more
