I hired John Frank Moving Company to unload two U-pack pods at my new rental. Communication through the booking process was very good: quick and responsive, comprehensively answered all questions and as others mentioned the price was very competitive. As others mentioned they offer a discount for cash payment, and I was quited $145 an hour for 2 movers for the 2.5 hour minimum for my job. They were very flexible on timing compared with other companies. On the day of the move I let them know I was ready earlier than booked and they accommodated. They also came with 4 movers instead of 2 at no additional fee and got the whole job done in 45 minutes. The team were four friendly young men and they were super easy to work with, respectful, and careful with my things. They were willing, when I asked, to also remove some large garbage items for an extra fee. Overall: super communicative booking, flexible scheduling, competetive prices and a job well done! I hired first set of drivers yesterday. there were some issues. life happens. they were kind enough to send a second set of drivers out. there was a small bit of damage. they refunded me for the damage. I was a little miffed because they were suppose to come at 4 pm, but didn't arrive until 5 and I didn't want to be moving until night. However, all sins were forgiven because of how quick and efficient they were. I hired 3 movers and they moved at the speed of light where I just had to get out of the way because I was impeding their work. All of my possessions were handled with care and we got an entire house moved out and into the new one in 3 hours. The movers were also very polite, funny, and efficient. We requested a move through John Frank when our initial choice ghosted us after taking a $339 deposit we're still trying to get back - those orange and green college guys are probably throwing a kegger. I'll review them in a bit. Anyway, John Frank was absolutely on the ball. They gave us a very clear price quote, we sent photos of what we were going to move and everything went smoothly. A 24' truck, 3 young and surprisingly strong guys who knew their stuff. Art was wrapped, furniture handed with care. I started requesting quotes about a month before my move, and JFMC responded quickly with a very reasonable estimate. On moving day, two movers arrived right on time and completed everything in just 2.5 hours. I don't recall their names, but they worked efficiently and even disassembled and reassembled my bed frame at the new apartment. Parking was a challenge since it was a Sunday and street parking was free, but luckily a car left and there was just enough space for their 20-ft truck to park. Overall, the experience was smooth and professional. I'd definitely hire JFMC again for a future move. They're relatively new on Yelp, but they do have a strong track record on Google! read more

Stress free move. Not often I can say that. I hired 2 movers to transfer the contents of a Uhaul U-Box into their truck and then into an apartment. They arrived on time, worked fast (no milking the clock, even though they charge by the hour), took great care wrapping furniture, and were as friendly as could be. Opportunity: I originally got a quote online, which was super easy. I then called to schedule. The woman I spoke with said she would check the schedule and get back to me. After that, all communication was via text. She didn't ask if she could text and didn't tell me she would be texting. It was fine, but I would have preferred to continue via the method I initiated unless asked. Second, I paid cash (they give a discount) but did not receive a receipt. The mover couldn't provide one and I didn't get an email or text finalizing the service. I think they should provide a receipt, especially for cash payment. Overall though, I would use them again if needed. No second thoughts. read more

One grip about their scheduler is that you need to play games to get to their $195 an hour cash price even though that is what they offer as standard to everyone (they always say it is $205 and then back down to $195 to earn your business) read more

When i was looking around for moving companies, they were also the only one i found that offered a 2 hour minimum (every other company had a 3 hour minimum), which was perfect since my job was on the smaller side. I hired this company for a move on May 1st and it was a frustrating, costly mess. I was quoted 3 movers for 4-5 hours, but it took over 8 hours and cost me more than double--over $1,800 plus a toll. They showed up late with no courtesy call, didn't notify us when they left the old place or arrived at the new one (40 mins away), and left furniture scattered in nonsensical places--like shoving the couch in the farthest room and blocking it in with other furniture. Worse, they completely ignored my box labels. Nearly everything was dumped in one room, and they stacked fragile boxes on top of each other, including ones clearly marked "do not stack." Several items were broken, including a shattered lamp (they admitted they didn't strap it down) and bent collector posters worth hundreds. Customer service told me to wait to send photos until I finished unpacking, which has taken time due to my work schedule--but the damage is real and extensive. Save your money. I expected better service for the price I paid. read more

This company offers reliable, even last minute, moving help. I was very happy with the guys who helped me move. They were friendly and communicative. I wish they had lower cost options for smaller moves. I really didn't have a lot of stuff but had to book 2 guys for a minimum of two hours so I ended up paying more than I wished. And they were not open to negotiating. The other thing is that, unfortunately, the movers got held up and arrived much later than anticipated. This could happen, of course. But I would plan on being flexible on move timing. That said, for larger moves, I would definitely recommend this company. read more
