Also the prices are very reasonable and my co-workers kabob plate looked very good. Initially I just gave it four stars, but after eating my small Persian salad, decided it is the best Armenian food in Burbank. Well, I typed in food, filtered "open now" and "$." I find Adana's and look at the pictures, it looked fancy but attire said casual so I went. There is no hostess but there is always somebody peeking their head through the kitchen door awaiting to greet and seat entering customers. Everything was delicious! The entrance to Adana does not look very impressive. It is in the middle of an industrial neighborhood. Inside the ambiance is pleasant, not unlike a banquet hall. We had dinner here on a Friday night and only 4 other tables were occupied, so service was not a problem. At busier hours apparently service can be a little slow. The food is simply lip smacking delicious. We ordered pasus dolmeh, which is a cabbage leaf dolmeh. I have had grape leaf dolmeh before and I love it. Pasus dolmeh is even better. We get 4 dolmeh per serving which is a pretty big portion. We also got kashk-e badamjen from the appetizer menu. Crispy eggplant and caramelized onion. We munched it down in no time. I am not a fan of barley but the barley soup we ordered which is a yogurt based warm soup was quite good. Finally for the entree we shared a chicken koobideh. Good, but nothing spectacular like the other dishes. For dessert we had a honey cake. A layered cake, a little dry and like a sponge cake in texture, just the right amount of sweet. Great service. The owner, Edward, kept checking with us and explaining the dishes. Will definitely come back next time I am in town. read more

I had an interview here per my suggestion, and while the decor is not my flavor, the food certainly is. Highly recommend for a healthy authentic non-touristy lunch. Do not eat here if you have a food allergy- specifically a dairy allergy. My boyfriend and I told our waitress twice that I have a dairy allergy and can't have butter in my rice. She said so you do or do not want butter? I said no, I do NOT. My boyfriend said she will get very sick if she has it. Midway through my meal I started to feel funny. Sure enough I had a miserable 30 minute drive home asking my boyfriend to pull over and am severely sick thanks to their negligence of ignoring my food allergy. What a waste of money. I could sue them for that so I'm not sure why they wouldn't take it a little more seriously as food allergies are real serious. As a Persian myself, you can get better tasting food and better service elsewhere. read more

Amazing Persian food! We had gormeh sabzi and the beef kebab combo- oh my god, everything was so great. The meat was TRULY char-grilled perfection, and the gormeh sabzi even came with tadigh. The yogurt drink was speckled with mint, which I loved, and all the sides were excellent as well. And if you need any more convincing... The portions are huge! Definitely coming back. read more

I was looking for a place to eat dinner before a show. I was so happy to be lucky enough to come across this wonderful little place. If you like middle eastern food, I highly recommend eating here. Their food is excellent. Fresh, good portions and wonderful flavors. Unlike a lot of American dishes, middle eastern dishes rely on a complex combination of spices. I find this makes different restaurants more unique in their dishes. Adana's uses wonderful spices in the chicken and beef dishes. Next time I will have to try the lamb or one of their ground meat dishes. Their prices are very reasonable too. It's not where you would expect to restaurant this good to be, but go and discover your new favorite place. read more

Although located on the main street and the restaurant front is covered with dark glasses this place provides a great experience. Customer service is excellent. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. But the main thing, their food. The chicken was so fresh and tender, not dry like on other kabob places. Their hummus was creamy and not bitter. I tried their homemade yogurt drink. Not disappointed at all, not salty, very refreshing and the mint leaves on the drink enhanced its flavor. Beautifully decorated inside. Very pleasant atmosphere. Really enjoyed the food-- It was very tasty! I ordered the filet mignon steak and my husband had the lamb chops.... I have to say both were so tender and full of flavor. Another thing I really loved about this place was that it is BYOW-- we were unprepared for such invitation, but I quickly went next door to Walgreens and bought the best Merlot bottle I could find. I believe they charged us a $5 corkage fee which was A-OKkkaay with us. NEXT TIME WE'LL BE READY! Only found about this place because of Yelp. It is in a semi residential/ industrial part of town. I was expecting more of a hole in the wall place but that is definitively not what I got. Adana is a seat down restaurant with a hotel decor. Soon as you seat they put two kinds of pita bread on the table. I highly recommend getting an appetizer to share. The eggplant dishes are simply amazing. We shared lamb kabob and beef soltani. The prices are also easy on your wallet. I wisely asked the server's recommendation on my first visit here months ago, and was skeptical at first when she smiled and said, "the pork ribs". Being from the South, (and I don't mean San Diego, I mean the REAL South, where we take our college football and pork ribs extremely seriously), to say I was dubious about pork ribs from an Armenian restaurant is an understatement. Um, in one word: NOMMY. As is the kobbideh, oh and the hummus beats anything you'll find at Whole Foods, and given I'm a buyer for Whole Foods, that ought to count for something. Don't let the unassuming exterior (or interior) with the occasional homeless person walking by dissuade you, Adana is an exceptional foodie gem. So much so, I live in Ventura now, but go out of my way whenever I'm in L.A. to nosh here. The folks are super nice, service is prompt and efficient. Oh yeah, order some lavash. Just do it already. Kinda vacillating between a 4 and a 5 on this one but I guess I will go with a four. The meat and most of the dishes were truly phenomenal. My chicken kabob was incredible (just so flavorful and tender), my wife's lamb was amazing and the stuffed grape leaves we had for an appetizer were awesome too. The meat just had the perfect char-grilled crispy outside with a soft interior. Really excellent. On the other hand, the hummus was just average and the bread that they brought to the table tasted like something out of costco. Prices were maybe a bit higher than some similar restaurants in this area (not a huge deal considering how good the meat is) and the service was a bit understaffed - the waiters were very nice but there were only two for a full crowd on a friday night. My boss had been glowing about this place. I can do the same now. We expressed to the owner Edward what our particular tastes were and he began by bringing us an eggplant dish that was topped with a creamy yogurt and crispy onions. It was delicious. We shared two dinners one was lamb and one was ribs. I still can't think of why I would order ribs here but DAMN I was glad I did.They were excellent. as was the cherry rice. The lamb was also perfect, and the rice that my boss had with the tiny little tart berries was so good. All of the sides were great. Edward was so enthusiastic in sharing the preparations of the food with us. He knew that we work with food and even brought out some vegetables that he was excited about to show us. It turned out that it was purslane. He had explained that it was only available briefly. The joy and love this guy puts into his food shows. I can't wait to go back. read more

As a visitor to the area I have have been making it a point to avoid chains and try only local eateries. On the lookout for a spot for lunch with a friend, I heard good things about the food here and we stopped in for lunch last week. Everything was wonderful! We each got the lunch combination plate with chicken, beef, looleh, and rice, along with two sides. The meats were flavorful, tender, and delicious. And the size! A large portion - not all all what I expected from an item specifically as lunch. (While I finished most of my plate, my friend took half of hers home for later.) We both ended up with yogurt with dill along with hummus and pita bread. Everything was delicious and clearly made on site; a great compliment to our meals. I also got the Persian salad which was a flavorful and crisp counterpoint to the meats in the meal. After dinner my friend got an Armenian coffee which she also enjoyed. We were both too full for dessert, though given the quality of the meal I feel confident that dessert would also have been wonderful. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. First of all, the meats are awesome. But its also one of the few places you can get an all-vegetarian meal and not even notice that all the dishes are vegetarian because they are so balanced and so filling. The chef has mastered balancing flavors in vegetable dishes unlike anything I've ever tasted. All of his dishes - from the Ikra (eggplant dip), to the Vinaigrette (Beet and Kidney bean salad), to the Avocado Salad, all have this addicting balance of sweet, vinegar, salt, and spice. There is absolutely nothing like this place. And the chef is very involved and takes pride in every dish that goes out. Over the years I've ordered Adana - not just for an average Wednesday night take-out order, but also for large events, family reunions, holiday meals etc. Everyone is always blown away. You know those meals you get where you can't stop taking spoonfulls of food because every dish complements the next and they all taste so incredibly good? This is one of them. Last thing. This place pulls of the magic trick of CONSISTENCY. Very very few restaurants are able to be 100% consistent every single time you go there over a span of years. It takes meticulous planning and coordination and an airtight restaurant culture to ensure everyone is doing everything exactly correctly every time. But I can honestly say this place has been 11/10 every time I've had it over the past 10+ years. read more

I stopped by here for a late lunch the other day and boy am I glad I did! I knew the moment we stepped inside and were greeted with delicious cooking aromas that we made a good choice. I had the chicken breast kabob lunch special with the cucumber yogurt and Persian salad sides. My daughter had the koobideh kabob which was 2 huge kabobs that had a perfect balance of flavor.
