I love Persian (Iranian) food. Living in LA, the Mecca of Iranians outside Tehran, you can find good Persian food anywhere. Shamshiri is one of the older Persian restaurants in LA, I think they have 3 locations (Glendale, LA, Westwood). The food here is traditional. The atmosphere and ambiance is okay, the food makes it better. The service is decent. I loved their combo Koobideh (ground meats), with the beef and chicken meats. Their specialty rice (add $6.99 for specialty rice to your entree) is good too, I had the Zereshk Polo (barberry rice). It's alittle tart but yummy. Self service free parking lot. Credit cards okay.

So this was my first visit to Shamshiri Restaurant, and wow!!! I was absolutely blown away! I ordered the Chicken Koobideh, and let me tell you as an American who absolutely loves Persian food, I have to say this was by far the most amazing and delicious chicken koobideh I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Everything about the experience was just fantastic, from the warm, friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. You can tell they put real care and love into every dish they make. From now on, I know exactly where I'm going whenever I'm craving Persian food. Shamshiri has definitely won me over!

food is great! ambiance is cozy. couldn't decide between the chicken or beef koobideh but luckily they have a combo that has both. delicious as always with enormous portions that will last a second day. service was good, i don't know if they were closing soon but i felt kinda rushed near the end.

The food is always fresh and the portions are generous the Lula is very fresh and big portions compared to other local restaurants

I have been coming to Shamshiri since I was a little kid and it has always been the friendliest, most nostalgic, and delicious place!! We went recently after many years and it was so nostalgic!! Service and homemade vibes were top tier!! I highly recommend this place! I gave 4 stars because it is definitely a little expensive in my mind but you'll always leave w leftovers!

We have been to other branches and wanted to try this one while we were in glendale. We have ordered ghormeh sabzi and lubia polo Both tasted fine but i was expecting better quality. Their lubia polo barely has any lubia lol It was more like a tomato juice rice(kate goje) the rice itself was good. Ghormeh sabzi was a bit salty and it was like not ready as the water and herbs were apart each other. The staff were nice and friendly and the place itself was clean and cozy.

Good part of this place is every Saturday nights there is a small music band playing and singing. About the food and it's not comparable to whatever it was. The quality of the food is not good anymore unfortunately but the service was good. The food price was almost the same as the other good locations but the quality was way below the average. I cannot recommend this place for their food anymore.

Everybody order the TAHCHIN. It is a saffron rice, yogurt, chicken pie topped with barberries. The best item on the menu.

You are welcomed with basket of pita served with accompaniment of butter, radish, raw onion and mint. I always have to resist eating too much pita cause it's so good! We always order the cornish chicken kabab and beef soltani. The chicken is marinated so well with yogurt and spices and charred to perfection. Each piece of chicken is sooo tender (yes even the breast!) If you don't know what to order get this!! It is my favorite on the menu.

Since it was my first time here I asked the person working at the front ( you have to order up front where they then give you a number) some questions regarding the menu. They were supper attentive and friendly. After I ordered I sat outside to people watch which was honestly really nice. Reminded me of Paris. My food came promptly thus after. The Tumeric braised chicken is amaaazzzinggg the chicken is so juicy and falls off the bone. The rice has some sort of crunchiness to it that compliments the entire flavor profile of the dish. The eggplant dip reminded me of the one my grandmother makes, dipped with the chicken made my meal feel really nostalgic. I've been back four times since and never regret it. One of those meals that just makes you feel really good after!
