I normally order from Shamshiri Restaurant in Westwood, and the food is always delicious. Unfortunately, today's order came from the Glendale location. I'm not sure why the order defaulted to Glendale when I live only about 10 minutes from the Westwood location and nearly an hour from Glendale. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was extremely disappointing. The rice had a strong burned smell. The fesenjoon was tasteless and excessively oily. The Ash Reshteh looked nothing like Ash Reshteh--it honestly looked like spit-up baby food and was completely unappetizing. The barg was also tasteless, burned on the outside, and undercooked on the inside. This was a terrible experience and a huge disappointment, especially because I've had such consistently good food from the Westwood location. I definitely regret ordering from the Glendale location and will make sure any future orders come specifically from Westwood. read more

I love Persian (Iranian) food. Living in LA, the Mecca of Iranians outside Tehran, you can find good Persian food anywhere. Shamshiri is one of the older Persian restaurants in LA, I think they have 3 locations (Glendale, LA, Westwood). The food here is traditional. The atmosphere and ambiance is okay, the food makes it better. The service is decent. I loved their combo Koobideh (ground meats), with the beef and chicken meats. Their specialty rice (add $6.99 for specialty rice to your entree) is good too, I had the Zereshk Polo (barberry rice). It's alittle tart but yummy. Self service free parking lot. I went here on my birthday in 2022. I ordered the koobideh. The tomato was broiled well. The onions and bell peppers were roasted to perfection. The onion and ground beef kebab complimented each other well. It satisfied me and I felt full afterwards. It was kinda large inside, there were at least 6 tables. We have been to other branches and wanted to try this one while we were in glendale. We have ordered ghormeh sabzi and lubia polo Both tasted fine but i was expecting better quality. Their lubia polo barely has any lubia lol It was more like a tomato juice rice(kate goje) the rice itself was good. Good part of this place is every Saturday nights there is a small music band playing and singing. About the food and it's not comparable to whatever it was. Been coming here for 20+ years. We make the drive to Glendale to come here. Although the ownership has changed, the food has not. We always seem to get huge portions with whatever we order. The place is a small little hole in the wall with a great ambiance. Servers are always friendly. We usually do the Chicken Shamshiri, Shishlick and the Shish Kabob.
