I went here on my birthday in 2022. I ordered the koobideh. The tomato was broiled well. The onions and bell peppers were roasted to perfection. The onion and ground beef kebab complimented each other well. It satisfied me and I felt full afterwards. It was kinda large inside, there were at least 6 tables. Shamshiri is one of the older Persian restaurants in LA, I think they have 3 locations (Glendale, LA, Westwood). The food here is traditional. The atmosphere and ambiance is okay, the food makes it better. The service is decent. I loved their combo Koobideh (ground meats), with the beef and chicken meats. Their specialty rice (add $6.99 for specialty rice to your entree) is good too, I had the Zereshk Polo (barberry rice). It's alittle tart but yummy. Self service free parking lot. I ordered the Chicken Koobideh, and let me tell you as an American who absolutely loves Persian food, I have to say this was by far the most amazing and delicious chicken koobideh I've ever had. It was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. Everything about the experience was just fantastic, from the warm, friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately I've been having poor customer service at this place... being how tuff things are nowadays, this restaurant delivers the worst service. This is a big disappointment because the food here is still delicious and consistent, but the management team has been an issue when resolving issues with their customers... which may explains why the restaurant is always empty and not as busy as it use to be. I had both a pick up/dine in issue which was never resolved between the restaurant and myself. We have been to other branches and wanted to try this one while we were in glendale. We have ordered ghormeh sabzi and lubia polo Both tasted fine but i was expecting better quality. Their lubia polo barely has any lubia lol It was more like a tomato juice rice(kate goje) the rice itself was good. The quality of the food is not good anymore unfortunately but the service was good. The food price was almost the same as the other good locations but the quality was way below the average. Been coming here for 20+ years. We make the drive to Glendale to come here. Although the ownership has changed, the food has not. We always seem to get huge portions with whatever we order. The place is a small little hole in the wall with a great ambiance. Servers are always friendly. We usually do the Chicken Shamshiri, Shishlick and the Shish Kabob.
