Great place to enjoy some good bangladeshi food. Service is great and the owner is very welcoming. We tried their: 1. Chotpoti 2. Mughlai Porota 3. Kachhi Biryani 4. Biye bari special chicken roast with Polao 5. Panch misheli combo Everything was delicious! Highly recommend the chotpoti, mughlai and biye bari chicken roast if you're visiting here.

First wanted to start off with how packed this place was usually you can't get in this restaurant without reservation the owner greeted us and is very humble, we got the fuchka, the walima roast, the beef curry, kacchi biryani, chi khicurri, the decor was really nice, nice ambiance, I did not like the bourhani it's too spicy but that's how it's supposed to be so I can't argue with that, yeah good flavour on the roast you have to eat that with palao that is a flavoured rice with desi ghee, absolutely amazing, yeah can come back here again for sure

Bangladeshi restaurants in Toronto (North America in general) has it tough. Most of the time they are advertised as Indian or Pakistani restaurants to draw attention to the familiar; and authentic Bengali items on the menu don't get the love they deserve. On the other hand, most Bengali (at least in my circle) tend to cook Bangladeshi meals regularly to preserve the heritage. So true Bengali restaurants are critiqued quite intensely by amazing home cooks. Now Adda caters to the community through their well rounded traditional Bengali menu, and draws in the mainstream with their inviting space. Let's face it, we are not usually very good at creating ambience, so I am really happy to see a restaurant with good food, service, and a clean space! I took my parents here and we ordered a combination of regular food items (things Bengali people eat every day) as well as special occasion dishes. And here is a summary of what we had... Paach mishali bharta: Bharta is a mash. It could be made of almost anything, and this "platter" features 5 different types: potato, eggplant, lentil, tomato, and dried fish (a bit smelly for some) mixed with fresh herbs and spices. And comes with rice, daal and a friend eggplant. (@Adda Auntie/Uncle, who ever made the fried eggplant, I think but you forgot to salt it... the fried eggplant needs some love. My mom was confused and still telling me about it a week later.) Chingri Dopiaza: Shrimp in a curry gravy - it's one of my favourite dishes, and I got it with some pulao (fragrant rice). It was delicious! Almost like how my mom makes it. My mom agreed. Biye Barir Roast = Wedding Roast. Traditionally at weddings, chicken roast (Bengali style, not rotisserie) is commonly served with pulao, and it's the classic scent of any banquet hall. And it's absolutely delightful - order it! Kacchi Biryani: Most people are familiar with Biryani, and Kacchi is like "dumm" Biryani where everything is cooked in a sealed pot. Bengali style... Fuchka - pani puri, but better in my opinion. Most items on the menu are traditional Bengali dishes (except for Butter chicken), and I would order almost any of them. Note: traditionally fish are cooked with bones... so you likely won't get a nice de-boned fillet. Despite asking for green chilis on the side and a couple snarky comments, my parents really liked it. I'll definitely go back with my family and friends - this is great place to share traditional Bengali food!

First time having Bengali food and it was a delight. Pulao was delicious and pomfret fish very well seasoned. Albeit a bit on the small side for $15.99 combo price. I also really enjoyed the fuchka and tamarind sauce. I found the began vorta lacked depth of flavour and perhaps salt. It was also a bit too smoky or chalky tasting for me. Just not my thing. I prefer the Pakistani Baingan Bartha style much better However I am glad I tried several different items. Plenty more on the menu for me to experiment with. Restaurant was busy when I arrived and my meal was ready very quickly. Great service. Well lit spot at the corner of danforth ave and danforth rd.

I had the pleasure of dining at Adda. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere drew us in. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the menu and make recommendations. The food was absolutely phenomenal . Food 10/10 Service 9/10 Cleanliness 8/10 Price 8/10

Adda, a gem that few friends introduced to me in Toronto. As a Bengali person, the last time I had authentic Bengali breakfast when I was in Bangladesh. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant, Mohammed Rashid. A most humble restaurateur I have ever met. From the owner to waiter and waitress, the service was top notch. I took the vegetarian breakfast platter (mixed fruits, paratha, aloo bhaji (potatoes dish), fried egg, sweet polenta) with puska (pani puri) on the side. I honestly felt I was back in Bangladesh in my grandmother kitchen, devouring flavorful, delicious food. In the end, I drank a heavenly chai. 100% recommended!

    The reception

The restaurant, reception. They have music on Saturday evening. Not attended as yet. I ordered the Mughlai paratha and the fish pakoda. Fish pakodas were really good, thin coating and lots of fish.will order it again. The Mughlai paratha had too much batter, not enough filling and did not complete it. Will not be ordering it again.

If you're used to…read moreIndian or Sri Lankak food, Bangladeshi food will be a bit milder regarding spiciness, but still has flavour. I have to google what all the dishes are. The apps are a bit on the pricier side, but the mains are well-priced. Apps: It was my first time trying chicken momos, which are spicy dumplings. Really good. I love the tuna kebab, which is flatter than a fish cutlet. The singara, which is like a samosa, was okay, but the dough wasn't cooked through. Main: I've tried several of the meat options, they were all new for me. There's always a thick amount of oil on top, but the masalas are all nice. Mejbani beef curry was spicy and okay. There was a lot of fat left on the meat, so it was a lot less than what it appeared. The Biye Bari chicken roast (curry) was really good. The beef tehari was too mild, not spicy at all. The rice they use here is a short grain rice with a bit of bite, not the basmati I'm used to. So I prefer the rotis. The luchi was great, it's a small poori. Desserts: Looks like homemade desserts. The doi was too salty for me, but my mom loved it. It is fermented yogurt, which tastes like extra salty, concentrated yogurt. Their jalebi was okay, but nothing special. I like the option to try new things.

As soon as I walked in I could smell some amazing cook working their kitchen magic with some exotic spices AH YES! Pretty roomy with booths and tables good for big groups, and even a playroom for the kiddos. Simple decor but I loved the texture and design of the walls in the dining room and women's washroom. Told the hostess/waitress/cashier I've never tried Bangladeshi food before so she suggested the Chicken Roast+Polau+(hard boiled) Egg and the Bhuna Khichuri + Beef. So grateful they had free Wifi to keep me busy during the short wait. Tried the Chicken Roast first. Oh my! It was absolutely delicious! There were two pieces of tender chicken covered in a thick, delectable, medium spicy sauce; hubby and I devoured it all! The Pulao (rice pilaf) was bland and I didn't care for the hard boiled egg. Next was the Bhuna Khichuri + Beef; it was just ok. The beef was swimming in oil, so I had to fish out the chunks and put them on top of the Bhuna Khichuri (rice and lentils). The Beef was totally overshadowed by the chicken roast. Next time I will order the Chicken roast with the more flavorful Bhuna Khichuri rice. I will be back to try out more menu items so I can bump up their rating, but in the meantime I'll give it a solid 3 stars.
