I was given Tami's name with high praise from Lori at Truewood (my mother's place of residence) Everything was clearly explained to Tami regarding my mother's 24-hr care requirements until her death. All seemed in order and they met us at her home when the ambulance transported her there. Not until then did I learn that the caregivers were NOT licensed and would not be able to administer meds or suction her airway as needed. I had to pay over $12,000 in advance for 14 days of care. The staff were more like companions than caregivers, asking to do laundry or cleaning but clearly unsure how to care for a dying patient. One didn't even turn her for over 6 hrs, her face wasn't washed, her teeth weren't brushed, and I read with much distress that my mother had woken confused in the night and asked for me repeatedly but I was never called or told, even though I had given instructions call me anytime. One caregiver was pretty good with care..she knew how to position my mother, she changed her clothes, gave her a bed bath, and even brushed her hair. Unfortunately, this was the same caregiver that was curled up like a cat on the sofa, shoes off, sound asleep in the middle of the morning and I was in the apartment for a full 15 minutes before she even woke up. The last morning was horrid. We arrived about 9am and the caregiver reported she had just repositioned my mother. When I walked into the room, I could tell from her color that she was gone. She had stopped breathing and the girl didn't even notice! I called hospice and dismissed her as she stood there with saucer eyes and asked me what I wanted her to do! I called Tami a few days later and told her that I felt the staff was unprepared to care for a dying patient. She immediately got defensive, told me that the staff was assigned according to experience and there should have been no issues. She then asked for a good review. The final straw...my mother died after only 5 days and so we were due a refund. She died on the 9th. We didn't receive the check until the 4th of the following month, made out in my DECEASED mother's name and sent to the wrong address. If they had been honest about their limitations, I would never have hired them. We had other options that I would have taken. I cannot honestly recommend this company unless all you need is companion services and/or your loved one is able to speak for themselves.

The End Result of the contents of this review are that: I Graduated from MJC; Modesto Junior College in-person; on campus grounds for the Class of 2022 BECAUSE of MJC's Disability Offerings & the continued support and guidance from Kayla Locke my MJC Disability Counselor (1 in a Million!). My Degree is an: Associate of Arts with a Speciality in Social & Behavioral Sciences. A life-saver for me. :) At nearly the end of my required course list (in real-time), Kayla came to me and informed me that the few courses left on my educational-plan, did not need to be completed which catapulted me into graduating a year or more earlier. Which I did complete in the Spring/Summer of 2022. I'm still in shock as one was a math class I avoided for years & didn't understand why it was a necessity when my Major originally was LVN then RN and the math courses frightened me so that I stopped attending San Joaquin Delta College & MJC years past due to the struggle I have with advanced math courses. It all worked out beautifully and I owe all of this to my Mother aka: Dar T. & Mrs. Kayla Locke. Seriously & for the record. Still working on putting together a career plan for myself as I have to take it nice & easy. ITs the Bipolar Type: 1 I'm told that causes my brain to freeze up so much. Personally, the Cogentin I now feel is a major player in my brain-fog. Yet I digress...... I think the addition of the new President? not sure of his title as I just learned he is no longer assuming? this title, but he was a darker-skinned male who handed me my diploma & smiled; President of the School??? I think so. At any rate he kept up with the large volume of in-person graduates not falling behind. Thank you for all the changes you implemented in the school; and the college tuition assistance. You did so much; it was crystalline clear. Thank you. Please return to the college as we need people like you. And you're always so professionally dressed! It's difficult to miss your continued input & work with the students and this humble-college of MJC. I've applied at Yelp! Sacramento now that I am a College Graduate, (wow it is still so exciting to say that out loud and think about it) some months back, and believe, since I know my body so well and its ailments, that I would be a magnificent, helpful addition to their faculty/team. I'll keep you all posted via Yelp!. Prayers are welcome :) I'd like to do more with my education. However, it appears as of late with obtaining and seeing a new Neurologist for my ailing memory that is, in need of continuous TLC, that attending college, creates some stress & anxiety for me. If it were not for the emergence of COVID-19 where I am still wearing a mask as viruses and or inhalants are still floating around, the CDC has released I believe they said. I wouldn't have been able to complete the strong courses I needed to complete for my College Degree via LONG-DISTANCE & REMOTE Courses ONLY; ALL OF THEM. For this, I am ETERNALLY Grateful. The staff was caring and took care of the patients. He would entertain the other patients and the staff with his harmonica playing. The nurses would come in and listen. They treated him very well. I currently volunteer there now as well. And thank them for taking care of him.

I had gone to get the car, and when I came back around, my mom stood up and suddenly started falling backward. This amazing bus driver, who was truly an angel, reacted instantly and got behind my mom just in time to catch her before she hit her head on the cement. Her quick thinking, kindness, and compassion made all the difference in that moment. I am beyond grateful for what she did and wish I knew her name so I could thank her personally. When the time comes that my mother is ready for assisted living, Dale Commons is absolutely where I will be sending her. Staff members like this bus driver are one in a million, and her actions showed just how much the residents truly matter.

Unfortunately, I have never encountered someone who has demonstrated the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism that I have experienced with Patricia Hogan. In my experience, Patricia has been consistently rude and dismissive toward family members, disrespectful in the way she communicates with employees, and seemingly unconcerned with how her behavior affects the residents themselves. These are individuals and families who deserve to be treated with compassion, patience, dignity, and respect--not made to feel as though they are an inconvenience. After more than nine years of having my mother in this community, I know the level of care and professionalism this community is capable of providing. Patricia's behavior does not reflect those standards. In my opinion, she is simply not the right fit for a community that is responsible for the care, comfort, and well-being of seniors. Leadership in senior living requires compassion, professionalism, respect, and the ability to communicate appropriately with residents, families, and employees. Based on what I have personally witnessed and experienced, I have serious concerns about Patricia's ability to demonstrate those qualities. I sincerely hope these concerns are taken seriously because the residents, their families, and the hardworking employees deserve leadership that treats them with the respect they deserve.

She was taken to the hospital on a Saturday and I arrived on Monday from out of town to find all this out. That whole time not a single word from them about what was happening. Horrible experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone who cares about their family member who may need help
