Every dish we ordered was incredible, and the drinks were just as impressive. The food was packed with flavor, beautifully prepared, and consistently excellent from start to finish. I really wanted to share my love of tapas with some company in Queens and stumbled on this amazing establishment. It has an instant intimate vibe great for a date and/or catching up with friends. Food: 5/5 I will be honest and admit I ordered as much as I could for four people! Out of everything we got these were my favorite: - Pulpo: So TENDER nicely seasoned with sliced potatoes. - Filet Mignon: Cooked to our preferences perfectly with asparagus and mash potatoes in a red wine reduction. Owners Francisco and Pat have done a marvelous job with this wine bar and not to forget Francisco is an actual Sommelier which is amazing, don't forget to ask him about his wine selection! Was a little disappointed after trying the different tapas. Wondering if it's an off night where the main chef was off. The food was only mediocre even though I saw some many Wonderful reviews for this place. So here is my take on the venue. Decor: 5 stars Really well thought out decor to match the tapas theme. One fo the lights/chandeliers was made out of wine glasses with a board of corks on top of it. Loved the decor here. Service: 5 stars From beginning to end, the service was excellent. We literally came in at 6:58pm, looked at the scanned menu at 6:59pm and asked if we can still order a couple items from the happy hour menu which ends at 7pm. It wasn't a problem at all. The sever was very attention throughout the dinner. Changed our plates to clean ones cause of tomato sauce. Food: 2.5 starts This was a little disappointing. We ordered the meatballs which was yummy, the spicy hummus which was drowned in oil and had way to many pepper flakes in it. I couldn't stand it and the pita bread was only so so and over toasted. The shrimp with garlic was only ok. My husband kept complaining that it was too liquidy and didn't have much taste. The octopus (pulpo) was probably the most disappointing dish of the night. Zero taste and the amount of dill was an overkill. My husband drowned it in salt and pepper. Two pieces of the sliced potatoes were black (maybe over cooked) and placed at the bottom of the setting. Welcoming both inside and out! The interior is beautiful, but it was a lovely evening and they had a fantastic outdoor space. Covered and cozy with great lighting and safe spacing. The food and service were both incredible. Our waiter was attentive and helped us pick a delicious bottle of red for our meal. We started with the spicy hummus that came with the fluffiest, warm pita bread! We shared the chorizo al vino and the pasta bolognese. I didn't love the crostini, but I think I also learned that I don't love chorizo on its own. The pasta was DELICIOUS! It was fresh, homemade pasta and the sauce was flavorful. I wish we got two! For a Saturday night, it was very busy. The neighborhood must be starved for a decent wine bar. There were constantly new people coming in despot the place being full. There was live music that helped tone the ambience. The decor was rustic and typical of a wine bar. Food-wise it was just okay. I'll be real... Visited this place on a Wednesday during their happy hour and had a great time. Staff was courteous and friendly. We ordered 2 flights of wine (loved the Dornfelder red - highly recommend it). In celebrating the return of indoor dining and the uptick in the local food scene along Northern Boulevard, my partner and I decided to visits Addictive. The tapas bar is a sector the Additive Family with the Banh Mi and wine shops just across the street. With no tables available when we first arrived, we enjoyed a glass of wine inside of their outdoor dining cabana, beautifully decorated with lights and wine corks (loved how these were used). As soon as we could be seated, we were greeted by a friendly waiter who promptly took our order and explained some of the menu items. We ordered the Salmon, Gambas al Ajillo and Chicken with Figs and Brie. Everything was great. It was perfectly paired wit the wine selected and our interactions with the owner and staff who all came over to chat with us about our experience. The place is beautiful and has a very upscale feel which is great to see in a Latin owned business, serving a predominantly Latin community. This may not be the place for traditional tapas, but its worth the try for the creative twists they are putting on the genre. read more

Addictive Wine also has a store in which they sell wines and have hosted pre-pandemic wine tasting events and I learned about wines. However, I haven't had a chance to go to their restaurant. The service, was superb and the Sommelier was very helpful with the wines he paired our tapas. I can't wait to go back and try different wines and tapas. Addictive Wine and Tapas Bar is located on the corner and when I walked in I knew this was where I could enjoy a few glasses of wine in a great environment. Soft Spanish music playing in the background created a very relaxing, pleasant atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy a few minutes out of my day. I sat at the bar and took in the large wine racks behind the bar which were both functional and practical. After glancing over the wine selections I decided on the Aviary 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon which was very good for the price point. I got some great notes of black cherry and a rich almond finish. While I was enjoying my wine they brought over some bread and oil to dip in. I thought this was a nice touch. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgable about their wines and what to recommend. They even poured a few tastes of other wines they thought I might enjoy, one being an Argentinian Malbec which I don't typically care for but it was delicious. We started with the meat and cheese platter that had a great selection of great Spanish products. We had the chicken toast with Brie as well. We came here on the first Sunday of January, in the evening time. We didn't know if it'd be packed with people from the Holidays...but it wasn't! It was empty, the ambiance was perfect, the Christmas decorations made it feel like we were in a small spot in a remote snowy area... 5 stars for ambiance (they also had heated outdoor seating that were in small private "rooms", also well decorated. We opted to enjoy inside the main bar because it was empty. They checked our proof of vaccination and ID's. We ordered two Reds; an Argentinian Malbec and a Napa Cab. My Malbec was truly rich and full flavored, and I loved how it was a but deeper than other Malbecs. This place doesn't serve filler wines imho. We ordered two tapas (Chorizo con Camarones, and Burrata) plus we shared a Bolognese entrée. The chorizo was unique and actually these small sausages and had some heat to it! I loved how it was served on a skewer and it was perfect. The Burrata was also soft, with a surprise pistachio that contrasted the soft cheese. I thought it was great. The Bolognese was a solid B. The meat was definitely warm, sauce was well sautéed, but the pasta was oddly a Boccoli pasta - which didn't mix nor absorb the sauce and meat well. I think if they opted for a more traditional flat pasta like a Tagliatelle, plus mixed a small portion of the starch water (that was used to boil the pasta) in the sauce, then it would've bonded the pasta plus sauce/meat more. This Bolognese was tasty, but not uniform. All in all I would 100% return for the wonderful ambiance, drinks, tapas, and perhaps give the entrées another shot. The staff was friendly, and I can see this as my new spot when visiting Queens. Parking can be tricky, even on a deserted Sunday night. Street parking only. read more
