If you are running up or down 95, arrange to stop in Lumberton so you can eat Italian at Adelio's. We loved the veal Marsala Very tender, with sauce so tasty we ordered extra bread to mop it up.tastes like real Marsala! Wonderful angel hair pasta goes great with Marsala sauce. House salad dressing has a bit of tasty cheese. Unique Very inexpensive wines. Our Chianti Classico at $ 28 a bottle was smooth and tasty. Service was very helpful, and caring. Surprisingly good and tasty for a small town like this. We just really enjoyed the entire meal. The portions of meals and pasta where a bit small, but prices were not too high, so the value was still reasonable. Bread and salad were also tasty! First time here for hubby & myself. Beautiful rustic old building with amazing wood beams. We shared the shrimp bruschetta for an appetizer. The only problem with it was there wasn't enough of it! I had the house salad with homemade ranch. It was just right. Hubby had the czar salad and said it wasn't Bern's Steakhouse, but it was good. I'm a meatball snob but thought I'd give them a try. Oh boy! So glad I did because they were clearly homemade & quite tender. Just the barest hint of pink inside. Just the way I like them! Hubby had angel hair & Italian sausage and was happy with it. Then we shared a homemade slice of tiramisu. It could have used a smidge more coffee flavor but that's just me. Overall, if I lived in Lumberton, I would dine here very frequently. read more

I have been here off/on for past 6 week for clinical and this restaurant is my go to.. great beer, mixed drinks and food!! Everything I have tried has been phenomenal and beyond expectations. Wow! Who knew you could stumble on great food off I-95 in North Carolina!! After we checked into our hotel, we checked Yelp for Italian restaurants nearby and decided on Adelios. After a week on a cruise ship, and now heading home, we really thought we'd be lucky to find a place for dinner that wasn't fast food. My husband had "Chicken Francaise" and I had "Chicken a la Verde"- we wished we had these on our cruise - certainly as good as if not better than a couple of the meals on board. The chicken was tender, not over breaded. And the lemon wine sauce was wonderful. My salad was fresh and the house Italian dressing was terrific. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Minestrone soup. Add in the Crane Lake house wines and we will add this restaurant to our regular stops. However, I would change the background music- a little Michael Buble or even sappy Sinatra would be fitting. read more

This is an awesome restaurant! The food was fabulous. My husband had the special of the night, chicken and spinach lasagne with white sauce. It melted in your mouth! I ordered the chicken French, it was delicious, my only critism would be that it was on the small size, three little medallions of chicken. The up side was that I had room for desert. Home made chocolate moose, rich and chocolatey served encased in a pastry shell. It had the consistency of ganache. Absolutely heavenly. I doubt you could order anything bad here. The food is excellent I could not find better Italian food. The bartenders are crooks. They charged me for.more drinks that I actually consumed. I spoke to others about this at a latter time and it seems they have a repetition for cheating customers. Also don't go on Saturday night it's thug night and I don't really mean the customers. We went on a Wednesday night. There were two other tables occupied. We were told by the person who seated us that we would have exceptional service. I ordered fresh flounder with a side of pasta. My fish was just okay, the pasta side was watery and cold. My husband had veal Marsala which, according to our waiter, was going to be the best he ever had. It was not even close. No one ever came by to check on how everything was, the waiter who seated us and told us what great service we were going to have, disappeared, not returning until we were ready to leave. The other server was very occupied talking to the other table and never came by to check on our food, other than to take away our plates. Lesson learned, don't try to find exceptional Italian food in Lumberton, NC. What did I expect? Side note, we took a ride through the historic section, it is totally deserted, it looks like it once was a thriving, beautiful downtown area. Very sad. read more

As a downtown business owner myself, I want to love this place and support their business BUT nights like tonight make that hard to do. I called in a to-go order at 5:15 this afternoon, was told it would be 30 minutes, my husband got there at 5:45 and was told they could not find our order. After looking, they found it and told him it wasn't ready. It was not ready until 6:20. An ENTIRE hour after I called it in. I understand sometimes things take longer but we ordered chicken strips and a burger---nothing fancy. Last week when I ordered, my order was COMPLETELY WRONG (order chicken, got a sub... completely wrong) and I had to take it back. Like I said, as a business owner downtown, I would love to be able to eat from this restaurant often because the food is good but it's almost not worth the inconvenience anymore. read more

We like the food at Adelio's but the service (and management?) is definitely lacking. We went last night and were promptly seated by the hostess, but left after 10 - 15 minutes because nobody came to our table. Tables that were seated AFTER us were getting their drinks and getting their orders taken. The restaurant we ended up at had our salads on the table within 5 minutes of being seated.
