First of all, this creative space was located inside the beautiful CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles (a weekend market with a myriad of handmade products by local businesses)! We took the "Wheel for Two" class where we got to enjoy making 3 separate ceramics during the 1.5 hour class. Our instructor April was AMAZING! She was patient and extremely helpful through the process. We were able to keep 2/3 of the ceramics! April keeps them for a few since she has to bake them and glaze them (you get to pick the color) and then come back and get your pieces when they're ready. 5/5 stars because we loved the experience and would recommend it to any of our friends that are visiting LA. read more

What a fun time we had at Adewole Arts! The instructor/owner was so kind, patient, funny, informative, welcoming, and accommodating for our group of 6. How sweet that she provided snacks for us. Tasty cheese, apples, crackers, mixed nut, and a wonderful drink she made herself (mango, ginger, other cool stuff, and a splash of adult juice ) Even when closing time was l coming up & the whole place was going to be closing, she never did rush us once or get pushy (even though it was clear that we were not close to even being finished ...but we rushed ourselves to quickly finish and leave) Thanks for your hospitality! April is as genuine as can possibly be. Great for beginners. Great for intermediate. Great for the advanced. April guides you through the entire project one step at a time and will help you along the way. Jane and I had such a wonderful time together crafting our bowls. Pinching clay is therapeutic mana for the soul. Heck, April--unbeknownst to her--gave me some free therapy when she mentioned how I set my standards too high and ended up overworking my piece . Had such a great time doing April's pinch pottery class! She was very sweet and patient and I made my very first pottery piece. The first of many, I hope! We were outdoors in perfect weather wearing masks, which convinced even our hermit friend who hadn't ventured out for any social gatherings the entire pandemic to join us. He ended up upstaging us with the best piece of the group, that smug creative bastard. But I digress. In a nutshell, it was really fun and also the shop is in this adorable artsy shopping center with a bunch of other awesome shops. It was such a lovely outing. Girlfriend and I had a group lesson for the Sip and Pinch with April a few weeks ago and had an absolutely fantastic time. April provided snacks and some really amazing lemonade (with whiskey optional). It was our first time ever trying any pottery so the libations definitely helped get the creative juices flowing. April was generous with the clay and an attentive teacher throughout our lesson, providing all the tools and guidance necessary to create our own personal pieces. She didn't rush us at all and time flew by as we were there for over 2:30 in total. Would definitely do it again or try another one of April's classes. read more

We booked a 'Wheel for 2' class and it was a lot of fun. Definitely harder than it looks but we had a good time and appreciated April's guidance while we worked to figure it out. We both want to go back and try the Pinch clay class to see if that works better for us, but no complaints! We wanted a beer experience and this fit the bill. My daughter and I took the quick intro to the pottery wheel class as well as the tiny wheel class today and loved the whole experience. April is a both a talented artist and a very kind, patient teacher! We have no experience in this kind of art, haven't even really ever watched it done, but today we made things, regular and tiny sized, and we are super pleased with our first tries. This is fun and totally worth doing! We enjoyed both classes, I would say if you want to learn to work on the wheel to take the full sized wheel class here, it's cool and you will learn how to make whatever shape you're aiming for. If you want something quick and adorable do the tiny wheel class. Or, for bigger smiles, do both :) read more
