He has a welcoming manner and seems to be genuinely interested in how I'm doing as relates both to allergies and to life in general. His expertise has helped me greatly in dealing with my allergy symptoms. When I first moved to New York about six years ago, I had almost constant, violent symptoms from spring through fall. Now that I have been taking allergy shots from him for several years, it's very rare that I experience anything more than some slight sniffles. He has a fairly large volume of patients who receive shots and the office runs like clockwork, not requiring an appointment for shots, they'll put as many women as can fit in one room and as many men as can fit who are there for shots in another room and Dr. Friedman will usually see a patient who is there for a consultation other than a shot then come see all the patients there for shots in the two other rooms, rinse and repeat. I almost never wait for more than 10 minutes to get a shot. The only somewhat negative thing that I would say about his practice is this: the doctor doesn't usually show up until half an hour or so after his advertised hours. The ladies who run the office are there and they answer the phones throughout those times but if you are planning to go in first thing in the morning or afternoon (depending on the day his hours fluctuate), knowing this, you can plan to not show up until about 30 minutes after the opening hour. While it can be annoying when you're trying to get in and get out quickly for an allergy shot, now that you know, you can easily plan for it. The extremely positive quality that more than offsets this mild inconvenience is that he very often during the heaviest of allergy seasons, stays much later than his advertised closing time to help as many people as he can that day. I should also point out that the ladies who staff his office are extremely helpful and friendly and when they know you and your foibles, they'll cater to them. I, for instance, call before going there almost every time that I go in for a shot. The doctor and staff are observant Orthodox Jews and, not being a Jew at all, I'm never sure when there might be a holiday that they might be taking off, so I call. When they noticed this trend and recognized my voice as the voice that was doing so, they started printing out a sheet for me with holiday hours when there is a holiday. At one point, one of the ladies even made a point of calling me to tell me the upcoming holiday schedule so that I would know and could plan my visits around it. I can't recommend Dr. Friedman highly enough. If you need immunology or allergy treatment, I cant imagine there's anyone better in the city.

I got my gf to switch over to her from her current PCP. And my gf is happy with her. 1) No wait time 2) You ONLY see Dr. Lu and not some medical assistant 3) They don't rush you in and out as if you were cattle trying to you milk you and your insurance for money 4) She totally devotes her time to you. She'll answer all of your questions and concerns. At first, I was skeptical because I thought she was too young and inexperienced. She proved me wrong. She actually gives a shit whether or not you want to hear it. 5) Co-pay. When my gf asked if she had a co-pay, the receptionist told her no. My gf's former PCP required her to pay a $10 co-pay.

Dr. Pellegrini is one of the few doctors who will sit with you and discuss why he is ordering particular tests, explain what the results are, and then discusses with you courses of treatment, providing you with information to help you make your own informed decision regarding your treatment. At first I thought that Dr. Pellegrini was one of those physicians who orders a million tests and referrals just to assist his "friend" physicians, but he is really trying to do everything possible to find out what is wrong with his patients and refer them to the appropriate specialist. His staff is friendly and they have gotten better as time has gone on, the patient flow in the office is much better.

I came in for a hand injury, he 'touched' my hand as his 'thorough evaluation' and refused to refer me to an orthopedic specialist because he saw me 'texting in the waiting room, saying my hand must be fine'. WHAT?? My concerns were completely dismissed. He had poor bedside manner, ended the visit by saying "bye," in a sarcastic manner and slamming the door. The appt was literally 1 min, he's a scammer. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first experience with him, years ago he was similarly dismissive of another medical concern. I was hoping he wasn't going to be the doctor when I went, otherwise I def wouldn't have wanted to be seen by him. Many people have expressed how insensitive and dismissive he is. My appt wasn't productive and just a loser bullying me. Wish I just went to the CityMD in Bay Ridge where I am treated with respect.

Left work early and got to my appointment 15mins early because I was a new patient and figured they would need some info/run my insurance etc. At 6.30pm I ask the receptionist if it will be much longer she says "yes you have one person in front of you" at which point I pointed out I made an appt and would have appreciated a call if the Dr was running behind so this way I would not have had to leave work early. Then 10mins later she tell me the Dr wants me to do a breathing test, to which I ask well the Dr has not seen me yet so how would she know?? Anyway, I go into the test room and recognize the woman who is performing this test as the one that had left 20mins ago and just returned from McDonald's!!! So while she was getting her coffee break I was waiting in the office like an idiot!! So now the visit is complete and the Dr electronically sends my scripts to my pharmacy, they only receive 3 out of the 4.They called all day and no one answered the phone or returned it. So its the weekend and I dont have my rescue inhaler!! For the amount of money spent on insurance this office felt like a Medicaid clinic!! And the last thing that irked me was not only was my co-insurance/copay $200 but I was charged a $5 surcharge because I wanted to use my credit card..who the hell walks around with that kind or cash or checks these days??

Dr. Steinmetz is just a caring, understanding, well-mannered, humble, and gracious person. I have to say person, because he has to be such a person first to be a doctor with those qualities. Not to be ignored is his staff. His staff is just as courteous and understanding. I read reviews putting them down - but I beg to say, the person writing such a review, doesn't quite have an understanding of what to expect from an office staff in such a delicate yet fast-moving environment, attending to phones, patients, and any requests of the doctor...
