Each one has a totally different experience. I've chartered Luna and Soliel. Luna is a huge sailboat that caters to larger charters in the 30+ person range. It's a cool Caribbean vibe and very tastefully outfitted. There is even room to dance on deck or below. Lots of white bean bag chairs on deck to lounge in with friends. It's like nothing out here in the Hamptons. Have it catered and go. The other boat I chartered to Block Island is Soleil. It is a Hinckley picnic boat that has that classy Hampton appeal and is super fast with a jet drive engine. We also went to Duryea's Lobster Deck in Orient point. I mean really? Does it get any better than that? I showed up in a Hinckley, had Lobster for lunch, then went to Block Island. Bucket list checked. Thanks for such a memorable summer. Toby the owner of this charter business is awesome and knows how to make it happen with his professional fun staff. I highly recommend.

The owner is as deceptive as his business practices, including fake reviews from friends , which you will find out too late should you proceed with him. In the screenshot, you can clearly see that Mr Toby Stull, owner of this business, accepted our offer on a brokerage and provided a special discount. This discount was unfortunately higher than the prices advertised - a rip off attempt. When we called him out on his skeevy practices, he then in a rage kicked our family off his boat. This is emblematic of how he runs his business. And I will note he spread bad words about my family around Sag Harbor, defaming his customers. We criticized his customer service and reminded him of our right to post about this experience which ALL consumers have.

The Flying Cloud goes out twice a day* and it's $45/person. All tackle and bait is included. We decided to go on the afternoon fishing trip; there were three other small groups on the boat with us but it wasn't crowded at all. Since only three out of our group of four was planning to fish, they were nice enough to only charge us for three people. If you're a first timer at fishing make sure you let them know and someone will give you a crash course when you get on the boat, i.e. how to bait your hook and how to properly drop your line into the sea until the sinker hits the bottom. Delicious! A couple tips: 1. Even if it's overcast (which it was) you can still get sunburned (which I did) so remember to put on sunblock! 2. If you're prone to seasickness, pack some dramamine in case you need it and don't eat too much before the trip. I started to feel sick after the boat stopped for the first time and it lasted almost an hour before it went away. 3. Bring rags because things will get messy. The pro fishers on board all knew this. 4. Pack some snacks. They sell some on board but it's all overpriced (e.g. $2 for a can of soda). 5. Bring your camera! If you catch a fish you'll definitely want a picture of the moment. Plus, you'll have a great view of the Montauk Point Lighthouse from the boat. Despite getting sunburned and seasick for a part of the time, this was easily my favorite part of our Montauk vacation. He took us to many fishing spots around the Montauk lighthouse, some closer to shore and others a ways out. He had many spots marked on his Gps so they were easy to get to. He baited all of our lines, measured all of our catches so we had keepers to take home. He also filleted some sea bass for us at the end. We did a lot of research and were unable to book a sailing adventure until we spoke with Afton from our hotel. Afton was fantastic and was able to find Island Girl Adventure for us. Words can't express the amazing experience we all had. Bill & Maggie picked us up from the Marina at Gurney's Star Island. They were super friendly and down to earth captains! They took us on a beautiful Sunset Cruise around Montauk and treated us to chilled champagne and gourmet appetizers! We listened to relaxing music and had many laughter's during the two hour trip. The photos we captured during this sunset cruise are priceless and we're all left with beautiful memories that will last a lifetime! My 2.5 year old daughter joined us on this trip and wore a life jacket. According to the captains she was the youngest guest/sailor on their charter :) She had lots of fun as she watched the sunset on the ocean! We can't wait to return and book a Fishing Trip w/Bill & Maggie! We highly recommend them and can't wait to see them again soon!
