They came an hour early, finished early, trimmed the trees to my liking, and cleaned up behind themselves. So happy with the outcome. They were one of the cheapest out of 3 estimates. Adirondack provided me a quick quote on paper and gave me a few options for a Tulip Poplar tree that had damaged my house. They talked me through the costs and benefits of each option and offered competitive pricing. They cut down a large set of limbs over my house and brought them safely down between my house, the AC unit, and my son's swing set without damaging anything. They were prompt and on time. I called around several places for tree trimming for DC. Ended up with Adirondack as they were pretty much the only game in town and they got good YELP reviews. They were quite expensive but I needed the service done so I sucked it up and did it. They asked for signed letters from my neighbors which I understand but some form to have them sign would have been helpful. I sent them to the only email address I had. They either never got forwarded to their admin group due to incompetence or forgetfulness. I sent them again, same guy again I have no email contacts outside of this one fellow. He said he had them. Ok fine. A glitch, I get it . No worries. Go and trim the trees. There are falling branches. They go and charge me almost $2000 and they leave a HUGE branch in the wires! I write to complain that they left a branch. Possibly it was there before they got there but I expected branch removal. Email sent to the only email address I have. I get a rude email back from the PRESIDENT (John W. Anna, Jr. President/CEO) basically saying, deadwood only means deadwood still in the tree. Then ha said "Are you having a bad day, because you are not very pleasant!" This is their idea of customer service?!?!?!?!?! Seriously? Give me a call. Talk to me. What a jerk. Here's the deal. I got over 6 quotes to remove a huge old ash off the side of a rental property I have up in Laurel, MD. Some guys show up with a stakebed, a rented stump grinder, two chainsaws, and about 3 workers. These guys showed up with one dump truck, one chippings truck, a stump grinder a 60' crane, and 6 workers. They took their time taking the tree down. They wore safety goggles and gloves. They raked the asphalt after every large limb went into the tree chipper. EVERY time. Not just the last time (Why is this a big deal? Because you could trip on a small branch in front of the machine and get dragged into it. Very safe.) Instead of having huge chunks of tree fall to the ground willy nilly, each large segment was brought to the ground by crane. All the equipment is clean. The workers need NO supervision- each man pitched in to do a task without being told. Wow. This company ROCKS. Safety. Cleanliness. Professionalism. If only they would have removed the two small surface roots they left behind- (Stump removal if you pay for it only goes out 3' by their contract- read it!) read more

I needed work done on three trees.- removal of deadwood and raising the canopy 5-7 ft above roof level. The estimate i got was reasonable, and the references provided were very good. The foreman of the crew, the estimator told me, was a trained arborist. They did indeed raise the tree canopy - by chopping off all the branches on that side of the house. The effect is lopsided and quite ugly. I have difficulty believing the bit about the trained arborist. On the plus side, the crew was pleasant and polite and they did a very good job cleaning up after themselves. But i definitely cannot recommend them and would certainly never use them again. Amazing. I had three large dead trees leaning precariously over my irreplaceable back fence. Today Adirondack came out and cleanly removed all three with no apparent damage to anything on the property - they even raked the grass clean of any twigs or wood chips. I live on a wooded lot --surrounded by many mature beautiful trees. Two years ago I called Adirondack tree company and their arborist visited. He identified all of my trees and suggested some trimming. All was great. Called for another visit and the quote this time was very affordable. Removed tree and stump/ cut down old and dying dogwood and managed to do serious trimming of a mature gum tree. Very interesting to see how they were able to get lined up into the foliage which allowed the tree technician to get up the tree to do trimming. I dreaded having a large oak in my back yard removed, and put it off for years (until it really started leaning precariously over my house). This was a great experience, as sad as it was that I had to get a tree cut down. The arborist who came for the initial consultation and to generate a quote was knowledgeable and, more importantly, was very open to explaining his reasoning and share his knowledge. I got quotes from four companies in all; this quote was two-thirds the next least-expensive one! I wondered about that, but from all the reviews---yes, lower prices are their thing, and doesn't imply lower quality. The team was on time, incredibly professional, meticulous, efficient, and careful. I had initially asked them to take all the wood away, but later some friends asked if they could get some firewood, so I asked the crew leader to saw some of the higher branches up for me, which extra service they provided with no charge (and even stacked the wood behind my shed, although I hadn't asked them to). They cleaned up the brush and the thin branches and most of the thick branches as they went, and when they were done, the entire crew joined in the cleaning. They swept up my porch and even climbed on the roof of my sunroom to sweep the sawdust that had drifted there. They gathered all the bits and pieces and raked the grass. A few of the large, thick pieces falling down had dented the turf. They brought out a bent rake and actually straightened those and filled them back in as well as they could! I have a clothesline, one end of which was near the tree trunk. Before they started the work, they took down the lines (so they wouldn't snap under pieces falling down) and when they were done, put them up again. I had asked them to leave about three feet of trunk in (I'll probably make a planter out of it). They made sure it was the height I needed, and later on, I glanced out and saw them examining it from different angles to make sure that the top was left perfectly level. Long story short, their attention to detail was very commendable. A couple of the branches were reaching too far towards my sunroom and the neighbor's porch. They couldn't get a crane into my back yard. So they used a pulley/rope system to get the high-up branches down piece by piece. It was very impressive to watch, and perfectly executed: Not one piece grazed either my porch fence nor the neighbor's fence, and we're talking pieces that were almost as long across my yard. In conclusion: A++, would use again (and probably will, actually, I have two more maples in the back that seem healthier but have a couple of branches that can use trimming). read more

these guys are the best...they took down a 100ft. poplar and associated debris in the yard where the tree's 60ft. leader had fallen causing all sorts of damage...it was on the county right of way - so the county paid - therefore - can't comment on their pricing - but i do know that this company is much more professional and competent than those bozos in the orange trucks...highly recommend this company...they did a great job with both removal and clean-up...and - they are nice guys as well as highly competent and professional read more
