I came across this one here on Yelp, and I am SO happy that I did. The dentists here referred me to Dr. Pasternak, their oral surgeon. I hate having my teeth messed with and I'm already anxious just going to the dentist for cleanings. Needless to say, I was so nervous about the procedure and possible complications, but she did an amazing job of explaining everything to me and making me feel safe. Some of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so the procedure required more work and was done under anesthesia (by my request, I wanted to be out of it). Everything went exceedingly well, I had no pain during recovery, and the incisions/holes healed with ZERO complications. Two years later I still think back on the experience and how grateful I am to Dr. Suzanne Pasternak for the skill and care she provided. I figured I should write a review since I still feel so strongly. The office staff were amazing too and were very helpful during all of my pre-procedure visits. I highly recommend this place for everything dental-related. I would make it my regular dentist's office if I didn't live so far!

I did not experience any pain during my surgery as Dr Chang rubs a numbing gel into your gum before injecting the anesthetic. So I didn't even know when she inserted the needle into my gums to inject the anesthetic before performing the surgery. She is familiar with the major oral surgeons and orthodontists in the Ann Arbor area. This office exemplifies the model of professional staff, and they all work as a team with each person carrying out their role well. The dental hygienist is very good and gives excellent instructions for caring for your teeth, and postop care. You will be grateful that you were referred to Dr Chang's office.

I, like many, avoided the dentist as much as possible in my adulthood despite being in healthcare and advising my patients on the scope and sequence to better health. Do as I say and not as I do. Well no longer. Today, I drove to Robinson Dental without once feeling nauseated, thinking of turning around, or mentally cursing out another driver from misplaced angst. It was a freaking miracle. My experience with Dr. JD began a couple years ago when he was referred to me by a colleague at the hospital that I trust implicitly. This individual has been going there for years and continued even after a move now required an hour drive. Honestly, I was terrified. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and was apprehensive, embarrassed, and skeptical. While the initial visit was unnerving only due to my own neurosis, Dr. JD was kind, gentle, funny, and was never judgey, dismissive, nor condescending and continues to be all of those things. All of the others reviews are true. He calls to check on you the night after a procedure. He explains everything in as much detail as you'd like. He is straight forward and honest. He respects your time and discomfort. But while all of these statements are true they can not convey his earnestness nor convey all of the little bits that are inclusive in his magic. I know it sounds like hyperbole. It is not. Let me repeat. I did not have one negative thought about my appointment today. What was that? I just saw a pig flying... I also have to give a shout out to Jessica for calling me when there was a cancellation getting me in two weeks early. And to Paula for making me ultra comfortable physically and mentally. And to Dr. JD's father, who always has a smile, a kind word, and started something truly great. I have had my mouth completely overhauled and am confident that it will never fall into disrepair with the help of Dr. JD and gang. When my daughter was examined years ago, they diagnosed her with nine cavities. Her regular dentist found only three. More troubling was my own experience. In two thousand seventeen, I paid ten thousand dollars to have eight caps installed on my front teeth, replacing laminates I had worn successfully for twenty years without a single problem. Since then, I've returned approximately twenty times because these new caps repeatedly fell off. Each time, they attempted to charge me fifty dollars to reattach them, only backing down when I voiced my concerns firmly. The replacement cap they eventually installed doesn't even match the color of the original seven. My dentist was Doctor Julie. She was always friendly at first, but the moment I asked whether I would be charged for replacing the cap, her demeanor changed and she became rather ugly. Most recently, I underwent a root canal so they could place a utility cap on my tooth. However, when I came in for that procedure and also asked them to glue back on another cap that had fallen off, I complained about the situation. Rather than help me, Contemporary Dentistry refused to place the utility cap and told me to go somewhere else. This office shows a pattern of substandard work, repeated failures, and an unwillingness to stand behind their dentistry or support their patients. I recommend that everyone stay away from Contemporary Dentistry. They will cost you money and give you no good

I stressed that I like to get 2nd opinions on baby teeth work because last time Dr.Sam suggested a tooth pull, our 2nd opinion disagreed and we did not move forward with Dr Sam's recommendation and all was fine. Today when we went in I asked to just fill the cavity on the easier tooth as I haven't had time to get the 2nd opinion on maybe needing a baby root canal. He refused. Dr. Sam would not fill a cavity because he wanted me to do the other tooth first because he was worried about "what if you have to call me on the weekend with an emergency" and he kept saying I wasn't understanding. All while my child was already hooked up to nitrous and mind you is in zero pain from either tooth. Dr. Sam has horrible bed side manner and I have been on the fence about leaving and now this makes it very easy to do so.
