I do not recommend this practice. I informed the hygienist, Fatima, about my existing kidney issues, yet she said its okay and insisted on proceeding with the dental x-ray. Afterward, I immediately went to the bathroom to vomit, but both she and the dentist insisted on repeating the procedure. Almost a month later, I went to see my primary doctor to get the antibiotics and did the urine test which inducated toxic substance in my uribe. A month later a urine test indicates that toxic substances are still in my body. I believe the dentist and hygienist lack the necessary medical knowledge and professionalism and all they want is the $$$. From my objection, allthe positive reviews are submitted by a new account. The truthfulness is questionable. read more

Came in for a check up. Dentist informed me I had some cavities that needed to be fixed but could not be seen on X-ray. Hmmmm yeah that raised some red flags with me. I had a second opinion from a family dentist and guess what ? ZERO cavities. Take that for what it's worth. Caveat emptor. read more

I had been a loyal patient at Gentle Dental Care in Lorton, VA, for over 11 years, initially choosing them for the convenience of their location. My daughter even got her first set of braces there under Dr. Chang and Ms. Macy, both of whom are no longer with the practice. Unfortunately, recent experiences have been so frustrating that I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction. In July, I opted to get a custom-made SnoreX device. The first impression they took resulted in a device that was loose and did not fit properly, so I had to return for a second round of impressions. I was assured by Dr. Parikh (female) that the device would be ready in two weeks. However, two weeks passed with no follow-up call, forcing me to reach out to them myself. I was then scheduled to come in on October 22 to pick up the device. When I arrived for what I thought would be to get my device, I was rushed into the chair, only to see the assistant preparing the scanner for yet another set of impressions--the third time! Confused, I asked to speak with Dr. Parikh, questioning why this was happening again. Instead of owning up to the situation or apologizing, she tried to shift the blame to her vendors, as if that excused the inconvenience I was experiencing. I made it clear that their vendor issues were not my problem and that the service I had received was far from acceptable. What was most disappointing was Dr. Parikh's complete lack of accountability. She became defensive and offered no apology for the delays, lack of follow-up, or miscommunication throughout the entire process. In my humble opinion, this has been a recurring, growing pain theme at Gentle Dental Care, where patients are rushed into the chair with little to no explanation--like cattle being herded--making the whole experience feel impersonal and unprofessional. In the end, I expressed my dissatisfaction directly to Dr. Parikh and decided to never return. I have requested a full refund, as I can no longer trust this practice with my care. Instead of owning up to their mistakes and making an effort to resolve the issues, they chose to point fingers at their suppliers and got a smirk apology from Dr. Parikh. That's simply unacceptable. I can no longer recommend Gentle Dental Care, and I caution anyone considering them to think twice. It's two stars for me! read more

Dr. Kaur was absolutely phenomenal. She and her assistant Haregua were very considerate and thoughtful with how they handle my fillings. They made sure I was comfortable and happy. Also, she made the appointment quick and easy so that I wasn't in the dental office all day. I HIGHLY recommend Gentle Dental Care and the office of Dr. Anuja Parikh. Dr. Anuja Ohri-Parikh is a scam artist. She recommended replacing my ENTIRE mouth, including all the fillings. I tried her for the first time, but quickly realized shes a scam artist trying to do as much as she can to line her own pockets with your hard earned cash. I go to the dentist every 6 months for exam and cleanings and have AMPLE mouth hygeine. None of my other dentists recently recommended ANY work at all. After going to this place, Dr. Anuja Ohri-Parikh said i had 8 cavities and wanted to replace most of my fillings. I had 2 other exams this year with xrays that showed no decay. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR BECAUSE SHE DOES UNNECESSARY WORK. I will be reporting her to the ADA and Virginia Board of Dentistry with proof of my previous exam and xrays as proof she is trying to line her pockets with unnecessary work. read more

I have been a patient for over a year.The office is clean,bright and welcoming just like the staff at the Silverbrook office.I have experience very little wait time in the office. My 12 yo and 7 yo have gone. My 7 yo needed a filling. Both my kids enjoyed it so as long as they're happy, so am I. I read the previous reviews, but i have not experienced any overages and the receptionists are nice and informative. I like that they text me my appointment reminders. This dentist (Dr. Anuja Parikh, DDS) is only interested in lining her own pockets and finding ways to do unnecessary dental work! She recently recommended I do a deep cleaning. I went to another dentist, and they said it was not necessary. She is building a large new house on 5 acres in Fairfax Station and needs MORE money from her patients. Stay away from this dentist if you want an honest opinion on what dental procedures are necessary. read more

I have been going to Gental Dental for at least 10 years and I love Dr Puja and Dr Ohri and the front desk staff! They are gentle and the best dental experiences I've ever had. From cleanings to root canals they are exceptional. Everyone is very friendly, happy and upbeat. They really care about their patients! I was told by a close friend many years ago to go to women doctors because they have a gentler approach and men don't. I've had a male dentist yell at me because I was in pain while getting a root canal. He told me I needed to be a big girl. After that experience I said I could never have another root canal. Well I've had several done at Gental Dental and I no longer have any fear. I highly recommend Gental Dental. I love going there!! read more

I found Gentle Dental care online, and was nervous about going to a dentist without a referral. They were very accommodating in finding time in the schedule to see me, as well as on rates since I am self-pay. I found them to be professional and transparent. For the cleaning, it was quick and nice. The doctor did most of the work, along with the hygienist. They walked me through my x-rays and digital photos to show where there were issues, and were very flexible in scheduling follow-up. Most importantly, the dentist can be incredibly stressful for me. The doctor was very accommodating, patient, and took her time. She was professional and kind, and I would gladly work with her again. I'll be sure to update this review if/when there are any issues in the longer term with the dental work. read more

I found Gentle Dental online after one of my molars chipped after flossing. I liked the name "Gentle" because as we all know there is nothing gentle about going to a dentist. I called they gave me an appointment fairly fast, they did a routine exam and told me I needed a deep cleaning. They offered a cleaning same day but I ended up rescheduling. Now the cleaning is where they won me over. Both hygienists were super nice and made sure I didn't feel a thing on top of that Angie I think her name is went from A-Z explaining what was going on with my mouth how it could have happened how to prevent it to the point I feel like a gum expert now lol. She def scared me enough to prop me into shape and start taking my dental hygiene serious. The front desk staff are very nice and do a good job at breaking the cost down. They are also very flexible with things you need. I needed a couple things and have emailed them to me. They're also very good at calling back and answering questions right away. The dentist is amazing, she's super sweet and makes you feel very comfortable. The manager gives out his cell phone for billing purposes. I had one problem, they didn't tell me they're endodontist in out of network which bothered me but not enough to take a star away. I had a root canal, crown, and a deep cleaning and all of it was gentle lol! Oh yea the endodontist wasn't very nice either. I could feel she was bothered cause I kept gagging. (Lady, your hands are in my mouth of course I'm going to gag). Other than those two things dental assistants are pretty cool as well. I can also tell they are all close and work well together. I've never had such a bad experience at a dentist. I was told I had several cavities so I got the first three done. During the procedure the dentist assisting was so worried about getting out of work on time that she was sweeping the floor instead of providing suction so I was drooling on myself. When I said I needed a numbing injection, she tried to tell me I didn't need it (because that would make it take longer). I was suppose to go back to fill the other cavities and they called asking if I could come in for an earlier appointment because they had an opening and I explained that I was at work. They called again an hour later to ask the same thing. I decided to cancel and switch dentists which is when they told me I still owed them money. They called me every single day about this issue and would not release my X-rays. The last call they tried to say that I owed even more money. I finally had my EOB in hand and called them out on it. I went to my old dentist and he told me I did not have nearly as many cavities as they said. This office is a total scam and only cares about getting money in their pockets. read more

After working at Gentle Dental with Dr. Parikh and Dr. Ju I really have to say that they are amazing and very professional Dentists. They are friendly and inviting, always make it a priority to let their patients feel comfortable and welcomed to the practice. All the Assistants and employees are helpful. Stay away from this dental office. They are very unprofessional in many ways. They charged my insurance with so many services without my authorization. They also charge me different price than what was in my insurance claim statement. They never credited back to me nor they mentioned that they overcharged me. They also invited me for an implant consultation where they said there would be no charge, once I went there, they charge for consultation and did an x-ray where I didn't need x-ray. I called the office to resolve this overcharges but the front desk lady never listened to me and kept saying I'm with another patient. After calling several times they never picked up my call. Very unethical and unprofessional towards new patients. Over charge without authorization. I regret I went to this place. Shame on this office. read more

They need to get their stuff together. They scheduled my children's appointment, then called back a week later and changed it to 4 days later. Which was annoying, then a few hours later I get a call that they can not see my children because they feel uncomfortable treating children at this location and recommend going to a pediatric dentistry. They gave me two numbers, no name or company info, nor did they check to see if they take my insurance or even try to send over my information. So if you want to have your schedule turned upside down and your children tossed around like second rate citizens, then be guest and make and appointment with them today! read more

Awful, horrible, equivalent to scheming mechanics. Unprofessional, the doc and the assistant were chatting away as I had cement dripping into my throat, had to grab her arm to get her to pay attention to me. 2 years and $1500 later the crown I got never worked for the pain I was having. I went back to her several times to have my bite fixed after I got the crown and she just brushed me off that "oh you will get used to it." Now I have to get my tooth extracted. Had she just referred me for a root canal id be better off. All started when she gave me a filling, didn't fix my bite properly, filling and tooth cracked more and now the whole damn tooth is ruined! The entire office is ridiculous and every time I've been there it's been empty. Now I know why! They are a bunch of crooks! Take a look at her staff's teeth, that shoulda tipped me off in the beginning. Go to Dr. Moffitt down the road instead, he's amazing and has a staff full of actual dental hygienists! Not to mention every time I went to her office her kids and hubby were hanging out like they are at home! Horrible!!!! I just wish I had my healthy tooth back!! read more

I have been to many dentists throughout my life and I developed a dental phoebia, from dentists I had been to. Then, I found Gentle Dental Care. The negative comments on this page make me suspicious that these comments were written by another dental practice. I first went to Dr. Ohri when I had broken a tooth and I was in a panic, so I asked my friend, and she recommended Gentle Dental Care. When I called in a panic, the dentist was so caring, kind and compassionate that I knew I had finally found a Dental practice I could call home. The doctors are so thoughtful and when they are working on you, they are so careful, unlike any place I had ever been. Both Dentists, Dr. Ohri and Dr. Parikh are knowledgeable, conservative with your teeth, offering only the best advice and their prices are very reasonable, unlike other dental practices I went to in this area. They are very understanding of my dental phobias, which have all but disappeared since I met them. The receptionist and all the staff are just as amazing - friendly, caring, and very helpful. They are very accommodating to my very busy work schedule, no long waits at all. The office is very easy to get to with lots of parking in a safe neighborhood. The way they take xrays is quick and painless, unlike those other bulky, cumbersome xray machines. I have sent many friends to see them, who have also found a new dental home. Been there a couple of times. I'm really sensitive to pain, at least they were willing to work with me so I didn't feel anything when I got my two cavities filled (yes, they were horrendously painful cavities already) !!! Loved the work. Felt nothing! Dr. Ohri and Choni were GREAT! I had to go back a few times for a night guard adjustment, but they were willing to work with me every time rather than shoo me off like other places. Thank god! My mom and I both shifted our dental practices to them now. read more
