When I read your profile, I was truly in awe--I knew I had found the right advocate for Noah. Today, witnessing you navigate a team of so-called experts with such knowledge, skill, and articulation was impressive. You did an amazing job, and it's clear how intelligent and experienced you are, not to mention your passion for fighting for the families you help. I sincerely hope you mentor young professionals because we need more advocates like you in this space. Thank you again for helping us navigate this new and challenging chapter for Noah. Just remember, on those rough days... You are a blessing to so many families; you truly change our kids' lives! And don't forget to treat yourself to a glass of wine! Because those high-demand teachers are often requested a week in advance, it can be difficult to book them last minute. Most teachers are good and will ensure you understand the material, especially if you come prepared with specific questions. With the strongest instructors, you're thoroughly covered. They make sure their explanations are clear and detailed, and they check for understanding. With the less effective teachers, you may need to advocate for yourself more and do additional work independently to get your doubts resolved. Math instruction here is a particular strength!!Shout-out to my goat Victor, his guidance helped me ace a Pre-Calculus test I was convinced I was going to die during. On SAT prep specifically: after attending both Elite and C2 bootcamps, I personally no longer believe SAT prep courses are even worth it. just get good at desmos bro, you don't need to even know math to do well (as someone who scored 1500). If you are set on doing a bootcamp however, C2 was by far the better experience between the two. For college applications, I would not recommend spending your hours here. While they offer college-app help, in my experience they're not especially attuned to what admissions offices prioritize, nor do they try to research it at all. You'll likely get more value from the excellent (and free) resources available on YouTube. That said, their writing + ELA support for school is fine so dw about that. MADE coffee is almost right next door and I love getting coffee before I go in Saturday mornings, that is a mega plus. overall, I really like coming here and it has saved my butt multiple times. the community of it all is wonderful and they make you feel encouraged no matter what. I'm someone who has to engage with a topic multiple times to understand something, so often I feel pretty stupid when I go to other places for tutoring help, but I never feel like that at all here! I feel safer to ask questions I would feel stupid for asking at other places. edit: a lot of my experience with this place has been during the summer before senior year, and I've heard that the vibe at C2 is a lot different during summers, so that should be something to note

At the beginning, we were invited to a group chat with teachers and staff, where responses were prompt and communication felt excellent - a major reason we chose the program. Regrettably, this responsiveness faded after a few months, with far more messages left unread or ignored than addressed. Additionally, we received no detailed academic updates about my son's progress throughout his entire time there. Teachers barely greeted you when picking up a child. Maybe this is the norm, but as a Korean mom who attended Korean hagwons (after school programs) before, in addition to being a teacher at an after-school program myself for five years in the past, this felt a bit rude and very unwelcoming. My son can have challenging behaviors, something I was transparent about from day one. I do appreciate that the staff worked with him over the months. However, after his dismissal in April, the lack of communication became especially concerning. I have followed up multiple times about the prorated refund for the unused portion of April's tuition and clarification on the refundable status of the enrollment deposit. Despite this, Grace, the program manager, has not responded since April. I gave her two months before writing this review. Additionally, when I directly asked Grace whether news of his dismissal had been shared with other parents, she assured me it had not. That said, I have since sensed uncomfortable vibes from certain parents whose children are in the same class, leading me to wonder if information was shared after all (my gut feeling tells me it has, because what are the chances? Timing is too coincidental). Regardless of the reason for dismissal, families deserve transparent billing, timely financial resolution, and basic professional courtesy. Being left in the dark after months is both surprising and disheartening. This has been a very negative, unwelcoming, and unprofessional experience. This place cannot be trusted. I would strongly advise other families to look elsewhere.

No, depends on your perspective on what good tutoring, or an good after school program should be. Below is my honest and unbiased opinions for your consideration. Pro: they do have capable tutors like Mr Andrew, Ms St Claire, but they are most effective on a one on one session which will cost you extra. The school always accommodates. Again, fees are on top of the regular tuition. Decent Art, Music, Foreign language Classes. Con: This school is not run by professionals with education background, trainings etc. The philosophy is that of Cramming the kids with class after class, and little room to spare. No playground, limited spaces for personal space. My son's biggest complaint was the loud noise in the so call homework room. Since all kids, who aren't enrolled in specialty classes are all in the room. So you guess it. Chaos... Lord of the Flies, and most of them are starving... Now if your child is struggling in school, and it is desperately to catch up? This might be the school for you. It is basically school 2.0. I can see kids from China, ESL , getting the extra boost here. Your kid will get improved grade, but essentially he is in school from 7 to 7. I guess that is a roar of the Tiger Mom thing, and just not this Asian Dad, but I never made it to Med school, so my opinion doesn't matter. Wish you all the best.

Here are the reasons we LOVE TLC: 1. Small class sizes (just like we had at our private school) 2. Feeling of welcoming, one big family! 3. Inclusive, my children have learned to interact with ALL kids! Typical or not! It truly warms our heart to see my children helping others on the playground and in classroom. 4. Teachers are responsive, and highly educated. 5. Kids are always recognized for their kindness and their success. 6. My children LOVE going to school! 7. Because of TLC's Gardening classes with Farmer Mark, the kids have created our own garden in our yard. They educate my husband and I :) 8. Teachers recognize each child's learning level. 9. All parents are welcomed to be part of the TLCCA which allows you to see what the kids are doing, help with parties, come up with fun events and help make TLC fun and engaging! 10. Homework is limited, my kids don't have excessive homework as in private schools. We get to spend more family time together playing Monopoly at home and Uno :) 11. My children are thriving! They are well educated and honestly sometimes we as parents, think they are book smarter than us :) Overall, I cannot emphasize enough about how much we love this school. One of the things we especially appreciate is Mathnasium's philosophy toward tutoring: no more than an hour of instruction per day and no homework. We love the recognition that children can only maintain their focus for so long, and that more work isn't always better. It feels like a very healthy approach to learning and was a major point in Mathnasium's favor compared with some of the other after-school tutoring programs we considered. Most importantly, our son has always had a tremendous amount of anxiety around math, and trying to work on it with him at home could be a real struggle. Math used to be one of the most dreaded parts of our day. We never expected him to actually look forward to math tutoring, but he genuinely enjoys going to Mathnasium. He has liked every instructor he's worked with, and their system of cards, stars, and rewards has been remarkably effective at keeping him motivated and giving him a sense of progress and accomplishment. For us, the biggest endorsement is simply that Mathnasium has taken something our son feared and disliked and turned it into something he approaches willingly--and even enthusiastically. We couldn't be happier with the experience.
