This is one of my favorite, go to Mexican restaurants in Lakewood. The best thing about this place is the mini bar which comes with unlimited beans, salsa, and all essential toppings for anything you order. I normally get a burrito or quesadilla. I've noticed that they don't add salsa or veggies inside the burrito unlike other Mexican restaurants, so it is very dense in meat, beans, and rice. That's more bang for your buck and you can always add extra onions/salsa for free with their mini bar. I'm not sure how they stay in business if customers are allowed an unlimited amount of sides, but I would gladly continue to support their business because it is so worth the food and price. Service is quick and friendly. I've never had any issues with customer service except maybe once when they had an incorrect order but they quickly fixed it for free after I pointed it out. Just be courteous about it and it won't be a big deal on either side. The overall restaurant is pretty small and can get pretty packed on a weekend lunch rush. Buying to go is best. Overall, this is my default Mexican restaurant in Lakewood and I would go here forever to fulfill my Mexican food cravings. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. They absolutely deserve the recognition! The food is consistently delicious, well seasoned, quickly made, and at a good price point. Whenever I visit, I ALWAYS get a VAMPIRO ($4.15). It's a deep fried tortilla with melted cheese on the bottom and your meat of choice, topped with guacamole and a sour cream drizzle. You can't go wrong with any of the meats, but my favorites are cabeza and lengua. Two of these vampiros will definitely fill you up, especially with their FREE BEANS at the salsa bar. One of my favorite things about Adobo Taco Grill is the salsa bar-- it has everything under the sun from your usual salsa, lime, and radish to pickled red onions and habanero. This place always HITS! Literally our favorite taco place period. Simple. Friendly service. Delicious everything. I've been coming here for years now. Before and After covid. I live in TX now and the first thing we do when we land back in the LBC is hit up Adobo. My kids crave their food and when they think about great Mexican food they say Adobo. Always fresh. Always made with love. Super fast. The beans are amazing. Whoever makes these... chefs KISS Chicken Vampiro is our go to Wash it down with a fresh in house made Horchata.. soooo goood. In 2023, Adobo Taco Grill in Lakewood made yelp's national top 100 list for tacos. Do I think it's a top 100 place for tacos in the United States? I don't think so; however, this is a consistent local's spot for tacos. The meat is cooked on a flat top and served in a flour tortilla. If you get a vampiro taco, it gives interesting textural contrasts between crispy tortilla, meat, and cheese, and that is slightly more interesting. What elevates it into my taco rotation is actually their generous condiments bar, that allows me to layer the flavors. On my tacos, I basically want lime, cilantro, onion, and salsa. That's good enough for me. But what I like is that they give complimentary pinto beans and I like to add shredded lettuce, lime, tomato, and pickled onions to the pinto beans, which makes them filling and flavorful! You could also get grilled onions and jalapenos upon request! I personally stop by if I'm in the immediate area; however, I don't recommend taking an extended detour for it. It got onto the yelp top 100 list because it's a well-liked local's spot and the ratings are skewed high. The tacos would be better for me if they were cooked al carbon (over charcoal) or if the tortillas were thicker. Regardless, it's a decent/OK taco, it's a very clean place, and I like that I can get pretty full for about $10. It's definitely A-OK (3 stars), and I'd eat this any day. read more

What a great Yelp find! The food is all really good and the prices are just right. Everything we had here was great. I got the all meat burrito ($12.99) and he said I could combine meat so I got pastor & Asada and it was wonderful. Girlfriend got a corn quesadilla with chicken ($5.00) - and these are made with homemade tortillas - and it too was fantastic. She also got a shrimp vampire ($4.65) and an Asada taco ($3.25) we shared everything and it all was very good. My favorite was the burrito and her favorite was the chicken quesadilla. They have a really nice salsa & condiment bar which has pots of delicious pinto beans. He said all their Shia frescos are homemade fresh so we sample the horchata and it was one of the best horchatas I've had. All in all a 5 star experience - glad we stopped in!! read more

Came a couple months ago with my parents and my sister for taco Tuesday. If I recall correctly, they didn't have a TT special, but we were craving tacos anyway and they are super delicious. They also have frijoles de la olla for free and a fantastic salsa and condiment bar. The staff there work hard to provide friendly service, to keep the salsa area clean and stocked and to get anything to your table if requested. The agua fresca there is also delicious. Well, we got married and I live in Lakewood and we still frequent this place a lot for the last 9 years lol. Our toddler loves the vampiros and beans in the cup. I'm so glad this place survived the pandemic. We have never eaten inside as we always do phone orders for pickup. Came back here tonight for dinner, first time in a while. This place is amazing! Was packed as much as I've ever seen. I like their burritos and tacos and then they have a bar where you can take some of the sides like beans, cilantro, onion, etc. Service is decent and sometimes you have to wait for your food. They're a pretty popular place so they could get a line but it isn't too slow. Their meat is delicious and fat-free. Their service is fast and they bring your food to the table. It's really small in there, so try to get a seat as soon as you walk in. Their horchata is really good! It's sweet. They also have beans available for you to serve yourself at the salsa bar. Saw the high rating on Yelp and glad I came to try it out. We ordered one round of tacos, and had to come back for a second round. There are about six tables inside and turnover is fast due to the quick service (and how fast the food disappears). So good that I will definitely be returning while in the area. The proteins are what really stand out here, with only one not achieving a 5-star taste. Chorizo was slightly spicy and not oily, robust flavor. Al pastor was appropriate wet sauce and strong flavor without being salty. Shrimp were perfectly cooked bursting with flavor and still moist. Only the carnitas was 4-star, moist and good flavor but not at the level of everything else (we ordered everything again except the carnitas). Salsa bar and toppings are self-serve and were kept full. Onions and cilantro of course, with mild green salsa and spicy red salsa, as well as pickled red onions that are spicy, and pickled mixed vegetables. I especially love the Vampiro Taco, where cheese is melted into a tostada, protein is added with fajita onions and peppers, and then topped with a scoop of guacamole and drizzle of crema. Definitely worth the up charge, amazing with shrimp and should work well with the other proteins too. read more

I stopped by Adobo again after my pre-registration at the Lakewood Medical Regional Center yesterday so I could order the shrimp taco that my wife loved so much the last visit. I decided to order a shrimp burrito for good measure as well. I wasn't overly impressed with my lengua burrito last time. A good sized burrito with tender meat but it was a bit bland even using the 2 salsas from the bar. The bite of shrimp taco my wife gave me was so much more delicious I knew I'd have to return for that. The flan is definitely a deal at $2.89 but it wasn't quite my cup of tea either. I thought the consistency was a bit runny and it wasn't very sweet. I don't like things that are overly sweet but this was a bit too far on the other side of the scale. This visit just hit it out of the ballpark. The shrimp taco with red salsa was a wonderful starter. Then when I got to the shrimp burrito with rice and beans, oh my Lord. Every bite is loaded with shrimp. There may be some who might say there are too many shrimp. Nay I say! This was shrimp heaven as far as I'm concerned. If you love shrimp, RUN to Adobo and order this gastronomical masterpiece of a burrito. Maybe sample the 2 salsas to see which you prefer but I'm pretty sure one will tickle your fancy. The green does have more kick so if heat doesn't turn you on, you may want to go with the other. They also have a hotpot of beans at the condiment bar if that's your thing. Someone there raved about them but they didn't really float my boat. To each their own. My next trip will be for the vampiros shrimp. I can't wait to sink my teeth into one of those. read more
