This place is a hidden gem! In a plaza full of Asian food options Morena Mia is a welcome surprise. Right when you walk in the aesthetic is so welcoming and cute. It is definitely very instagrammable and lots of opportunities to take cute pictures of your food or the restaurant. The menu had great variety, something for everyone. There was carne, pastor, chicken, keto options, vegan options, birria, dinner plates, desserts, appetizers and beverages. There were a couple of specials advertised (two tacos and drink and the other being fish and/or shrimp). I got the fish and shrimp plate and had to throw in an extra birria cuz your girl was hungryyyyy (and also I couldn't make up my mind, everything sounded so good lol). The food came out fast and was hot, my husband got the chicken taquitos which he loved with a side of rice and beans. My birria tacos came with a salsa I haven't tried before and it was so good! Spicy and smoky and complimented my taco really well. The meat was tender and flavorful and the tortillas tasted homemade. The shrimp and fish you can get breaded or not, I opted for grilled. The shrimp was generous and fish very fresh (didn't have that fishy taste). I recommend both the green and red salsa so you can alternate. They also serve pozole and menudo but I believe pozole is a weekend option? All in all great value and delicious food! Can't wait to come back, thank you Morena Mia Tacos!

When you first walk in you will find yourself looking for a menu. However, they don't have a physical menu, you have to scan a barcode that they have near the register. We were greeted right away and the service was pretty fast. We got our food within 5-10 minutes of ordering. Everything was delicious! Both the burrito and torta were cut in half which can be convenient for some but I personally don't like when my burrito is cut in half because burritos are already pretty messy and it being cut in half didn't really help with that. The place is pretty cozy so I can imagine it gets overwhelming during lunch rush. Overall, I enjoyed the food and service.

If you're looking for a legit taco spot, this is it. I've been coming here for the last six months and it's become my go-to. Their birria tacos are delicious packed with flavor and always made right. It feels like a hidden gem in the area, and since there aren't many taco places nearby, I'm so glad I found this one. Highly recommend!

The location to Morena Mia is in a busy plaza with plenty of parking up front. There are quite a few tables available to sit at, and the decor was very cute. We ordered the birria tacos both regular and (dorados) crunchy they were delicious, the meat was tender and well seasoned. Options for onions and cilantro are available, it also comes with a small side of cucumbers. I enjoyed eating the cabeza tacos here again the seasoning is great, and the meat was very soft. The salsas were both very good. The green salsa was my favorite of the two options. They had aguas Fresca I think it was horchata and agua de piña. The wait wasn't too bad maybe about 10 minutes considering it was pretty crowded at the time we went.

I came to the area to do some shopping and saw this place across the street. Who can turn down tacos right? I got 3 asada tacos and they were definitely some of the best tacos i had in a long long time! They were soo good i got 3 to go for work the next day. I will come back and try the birria and pastor tacos! You can tell the tacos are made with the best fresh ingredients. The salas were great! They don't cut corners here. Its very clean inside and they have horchata and hibiscus drinks. Everyone should be going here.. Food rating: Asada tacos 9.8\10 the highest taco rating. They were fantastic!

THEY HAVE TACO TUESDAY DEAL! Buy 2 get 1 free. Had a craving for tacos so looked at maybe 20+ different places before deciding to try this. The pink tortilla makes it interesting. We love home made tortillas. I got 2 al pastor (it's on the spinning stick thing), 1 tripas and 1 buche. Also asked for grilled onions and grilled peppers. Took it home so me and wife could try it out. Definitely made to order and it was so hot that the cilantro was completely cooked within the 4 minute drive home. Overall, a decent taco. Priced a bit high for the taste, but very understandable for the location. The inside was also very bright and clean and cashier was very friendly.

We were so busy talking I completely forgot to take pictures of all of our yummy food. The restaurant is small and casual. Service was very friendly and helpful. Everything was cooked when we ordered our takeout and it smelled delicious!!! We ordered a little of everything...tacos, burritos, quesadillas, birria plate and the heaviest plate of carne asada fries! It was all fresh and flavorful. We will definitely be back and hopefully remember to take pictures.

Tacos are made fresh to order. Carne asada tacos flavor is inconsistent. They were flavorful and good on a Tuesday. We craved them the next day, and on Wednesday, they had a different flavor. On another day, they were bland. It's a hit or miss.

This place is such a vibe! I came across this on Yelp trying to find a spot to order from. My head was saying sushi but my gut was saying tacos. On a Saturday night, parking lots fill up fast so I took my chances on this spot. Cute little spot! Prices were decent too. I ordered the carne asada fries and opted out of the guacamole (allergies), birria taco and a shrimp taco. I ordered everything to go as I was sitting a very nostalgic song came on. It was "Angel Baby" and let me tell you, this brought back so many memories for me. I low key wanted to cry. This place could take all my money after that. I'm very picky when it comes to my carne asada fries, but this place got it right. And they didn't skimp out on anything. Presentation was amazing and it was evenly dressed. Shrimp taco was even better! For the price you pay, it was worth it. I had to eat a little bit of it with a fork in order for me to close up the tortilla. The birria taco was a miss for me. If I had consome to go with it, I think I'd love it too. Overall this place is such a gem! And customer service was top notch! I wish for nothing but the best for this place.

It's hard to find a taco spot that has a simple menu, good flavor, and fire salsas. We tried the carne asada, Al pastor, and shrimp tacos and they were SO GOOD. Then we tried the Birria, that's the stand out dish here. It has that delicious homemade flavor and the meat was tender and perfection! Will definitely be coming back here again.

Great fish taco but the rest was flavorless - dry meat and tortillas. Service and ambiance was fine.

The restaurant itself is small and narrow,…read morewhich gives it the feel of a dim alleyway, decorated with colorful Mexican festive banners hanging overhead. Some people may enjoy that style, but for me it felt overly dark and somewhat cramped. The service was okay. Nothing particularly good or bad stood out. As for the food, based on previous reviews, I expected something above average or even excellent. That really was not the case. If you regularly eat authentic Mexican food, the food here is simply okay. It is not bad, but it is also not especially good. I ordered the combination plate with two tacos, one enchilada, rice, and beans. The other person ordered one enchilada, one taco, rice, and beans. Since we eat Mexican food frequently, we have a solid idea of what good Mexican food should taste like. The food here was decent enough to eat, but nothing memorable. One thing I did not appreciate was the pricing structure. The menu combinations appear one way at first, but if you choose a meat other than ground beef, there is an additional charge of one or two dollars depending on the item. The restaurant does disclose this, but only in fine print, so make sure to read carefully before ordering. Overall, I probably would not return because I know what genuinely good Mexican food tastes like. However, if you did not grow up eating Mexican food regularly, you may enjoy this place much more than I did. It may appeal more to people who are less familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine. Also, to be fair, I did not try the burritos, so those could potentially be better.

This place is nestled into a small strip mall with a couple other restaurants located in it kind of tucked away not hard to find, but you would miss it pretty easy, it was either the owner and his mom or his wife and they both seem nice. They took the order they made the order and they brought out the order so it looks like a hard-working family. Now onto the food !! My soup was good and I could tell that it was fresh because it took about 20 minutes to make and nobody else was in the restaurant. I appreciate the attention to detail, but for me the broth was just lacking. Something was definitely missing in the flavor department. My 10 year old son ordered the Carne Asada quesadilla and I had a small piece of that, which was actually pretty good as the tortilla was nice and fluffy and very soft. The meat in the quesadilla was also tender and not tough which also helped out Not saying I wouldn't come back to this place and give it another try ,but the soup for me was definitely lacking what I was looking for and I've had better albondigas soup at other places.

So in the meantime we needed a Scooby snack :p The Mexican spot next to Thai bbq was closed for the holiday. So I started calling around because my mom needed her carne asada tacos! Called around and I remember I had Los consomes on my list and they were open YAY. I ordered two carne asada street tacos, a queso birria ,a queso asada taco and chips and salsa. I was raised in Cerritos so I know Artesia very well and made my way over from Thai bbq. Walked in, nice clean little mom and pop. Seems like the guy was the chef and cashier. I didn't realize there was a little bell to let them know you're there so I stood around for a good minute til I pressed it lol. For safety, I'd say they should have something that makes a noise when you first walk in. Anyhow, he came out, rung me up and food was packed and ready. Got home and tore into the bag. The chips definitely tasted made to order. Extremely fresh! The salsa was sooooo good. He asked if I wanted the hot sauce and of course I did. Even my mom indulged and she usually can't do spicy. It was a perfect amount of spice. She said her tacos were the softest, not soggy tacos she ever had. The meat was perfect and plentiful. The queso tacos were simple and delicious. No dried out tortillas here! The Birria was nice and soft. Their meat was perfectly cooked. Not tough or a crazy chew to it. My mom said the chips were addicting. We were full just off our tacos and some chips. I needed a nap LOL. They have a nice straightforward menu. Not a million things, just enough options to keep you interested for multiple visits. Great service from a hardworking family I bet. I can't wait to go back and try their soups, even with this summer heat I wish them much success:)
