I think this is going to be my last run to Pinky's--for 3 reasons: 1. Inconsistent hours. It might show as open, but they're closed--so call before you drive over. Today it actually showed closed, but they were open. I happened to drive by and decided to grab a bite. 2. Pricing feels inconsistent. Today I was charged $13.25 for a carne asada burrito after she asked if I was paying cash. I'm guessing it costs more if you don't pay cash. For reference, the menu on the cart lists it at $12. 3. Questionable quality. There's nothing wrong with a $15 or even $20 taco truck burrito if the quality and portion stay solid. But the flavor tasted heavily loaded with MSG, and the asada was chopped into tiny pieces, which felt like it was meant to hide meat that was dry or chewy. At best, this is a $8 burrito--and I do have an issue paying $13.25 for something that tastes and portions like a $8 burrito. Disappointing overall. I'll be branching out and trying other taco trucks in the area. read more

Pretty solid taco truck. I've tried the carne asada, al pastor, and chicken tacos; I think they're all good choices but I especially like the al pastor because of the flavor. The meat is juicy and very flavorful, and they load it with onions/cilantro. Besides the tacos, I tend to get the carne asada fries which are full of meat and cheese. The mulita was also yummy! I recently tried the tacos with beans and rice, and the rice was good but the beans were slightly undercooked... I was also expecting refried beans, so was a bit disappointed by what came out. The first time I came here, my partner and I waited for over 20 minutes for our food. They let us know after that they're typically busy with online orders, and that it's a good idea to call ahead to reduce the wait time. We didn't like waiting for the food mainly because the area the truck is at is slightly sketchy at night. The best part of living in socal are definitely these types of taco trucks. Pinky's offers street tacos and fries stuffed with meat that's juicy and flavorful, right next to a chill liquor store with a crazy wide selection of drinks like thai tea, every beatbox flavor, etc. A very small crowd of people waiting to get their orders, nice and chill little spot that's illuminated by some string lights and the classic neon sign. So good we went back for round two an hour later to try their fries LOL Carne asada burrito/taco: nice big chunks of meat, where the flavor didn't get lost in the other ingredients. Tender and had a nice bite. Al pastor taco: they had it grilling outside, the big hunk of meat, so you know it's legit. My personal favorite, very very juicy and very flavorful. Cabeza: second favorite, sooo melt in your mouth tender and a bit fatty, just perfect 4 types of salsas, a verde, an avocado salsa, a red hot sauce (very spicy), and a darker red sauce that was tamarind esque. I'm not really a salsa expert, but the greens were amazing, definitely very limey After our tacos and burritos, we went and got the carne asada fries, and with much anticipation, we opened the container to see it stuffed absolutely to the top with melty cheese on top. There was so much meat, the proportion was perfect. The cheese pull was insane. Needless to say, it was delicious. The lovely lady gave us extra salsa, even though it wasn't typical to ask for more. We got all our food for thirty bucks or so, which is kind of pricey for a street stand. Burrito = same price as chipotle for less toppings was a bit of a bummer, but tacos for $3 definitely standard. I spent $19.50 and that didnt even include a drink. For one the meat didnt have no flavor, the rice was good and fluffy, the beans were mid they taste like the beans el pollo loco have, the green sauce and guacamole sauce is nasty. I asked for cucumber and radish the lady told me its on my plate when i opened my plate i had 2 cucumbers and 3 radish slices -_-. PINKYS IS THE BEST!! They didn't end up getting to the street until around 9 but we didn't mind and waited cause we knew it was gonna be amazing!! The lady who served us was so sweet and even gave us extra tacos and birria for waiting! :) When we saw the size of the carne asada fries we both gasped because it was HUGE. All of the food was priced superrr cheap compared to other places but the portions were 2x-3x bigger As for the taste, I think i had an out of body experience while I was eating it. Hands down the absolute best tacos I've ever had, and the birria sauce was out of this world!! The carne asada fries were heavenly as well - I could probably write an entire essay on how good it was. Will forever go to this food truck when craving tacos. It's very convenient since it's near my house and good thing too because I was hungry and tacos were the only food on my mind. Upon ordering I asked for extra onions and cilantro and they did not hold back. It was also without charge! I got a whole bag of onions and cilantro for free! They also didn't skimp out on the sauces either, a whole bag of those were given to me too! I ordered 6 tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos themselves were so tasty and fresh. The meat was very tender and I would tell they were fresh off the stove. The limes were easy to squeeze and not hard unlike some others. It was flavorful and paired so well with the fries which were crispy and not soggy at all. The meat : fries : cheese ratio was perfect; not too much/too little of anything. Friends and people I know always ask me where can I find good tacos?? I guess they ask because they know I love tacos, my daughters do too! I found out about this lunch truck because they park it by Mamasans liquor store on Centralia st. I am always at Mamasans store and I kept seeing this very cute pink and white catering truck parked there. It smelled amazing! Just thinking of tacos from Pinkys makes my mouth water right now. I highly recommend this lunch/catering truck. Located on Centralia Street in Lakewood parked near planet fitness and near the liquor store. It's usually there around 6pm but sometimes if you're lucky, it's there early. They have birria and barbacoa tacos too, the horchata is fresh and delicious as well. So I ate here once a long time ago and it was okay. I believe I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and it was very mediocre, or just not as great as I expected it to be. Well, I had been looking at some of the reviews for this place and it sparked my interest again, so i figured why not give it another shot and I gotta say, they didn't disappoint :) I tried the quesabirria and two quesatacos, and it was all just fantastic. I mean it was so simple but they tasted amazing! The quesabirria was so flavorful and the birria itself was nice and juicy even before i put it in the consommé. This is something that I love because i feel like birria tends to be dry a lot of the time when put in a taco. The quesatacos also tasted great, i got one in asada and another in al pastor. They were packed with meat and a good size as well, well worth the price (only 3$ per item). The salsa they gave us was also very tasty. There was one particular one that had such a good flavor and spicy kick to it as well. I was really debating getting some more but I held back because it was getting late. I'll definitely be back to get more though. Overall, this is a great location for a taco truck, if you live in the immediate area and don't want to drive all the way to Long Beach or Whittier or LA for mexican food late at night, this is an excellent option. read more

Stopped by tonight after looking for carne asada fries... this place blows every other place out of the water!! We arrived at 8:30 but after calling, we received a text saying they would be there in 20 minutes. We waited in front of the liquor store and the food truck parked up on the street. After a follow up call, we placed our order and were told it would take about 20 minutes since the oil had to heat up, prep, etc. I would recommend arriving around 9 to be safe or calling ahead to see if they're available! We ordered 4 quesabirria tacos and carne asada fries. Both were served piping hot and excellent. The birria and consommé is among the best we've had. Hearty yet light, pairing perfectly with the cheese and meat in the tacos. Also, the fries come with beans! Their salsas are also great. We love Mexican food and have tried most places in the OC area, we will DEFINITELY be back! I do wish there were some pickled onions and maybe a half portion of the fries, since we wanted to try more food from their menu. Jose and Rosa served up delicious food and provided excellent service. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for Mexican food. New go to spot, for real!!! Not to far from my home, right in front of the liquor store if you need some refreshments or some drank. I had the quesabirria tacos, tacos Al pastor, a mulita de Asada, and queso tacos. They were all very good but hands down the quesabirria tacos were the best. You'll see the picture, chunks of birria and cheese, what a better combination?! They only take cash or zelle, so have your money or your phone ready. LATE NIGHT food truck on Centralia in Lakewood! Not sure why it took me so long to discover this place, but so glad I finally did! The lady owner gave us a cup of birria de chivo to try for free since it was our first time, SO SWEET. It was delicious!! The goat was perfectly tender. They have this as caldo/soup from Friday thru Sunday and only enough for tacos the other days. You can pay with CASH/ZELLE. We also got the asada, al pastor, cabeza, quesobirria tacos. They were pretty good, but the only thing is personally I wish they cut the meat a little bigger but that's just a personal preference lol. I got the horchata, which was pretty large, they make the agua fresca daily and pour them into closed plastic drink containers. It was ok, not the best I've had, I want to try a fruity one next time. The salsa verde & roja already come with your order, I believe the others are extra if you want more. Definitely get the extra guac sauce because it is so good!! I tried the habanera but it was just alright, nothing special, so just stick with the guac, verde, and roja. They already have a kick to them. TIP: ask for grilled onions & jalapeños to eat with the tacos, these come on the side with an additional cost. I am definitely coming back to get that birria de chivo soup on the weekend!! read more
