they were so delicious and full of flavor 10000000/10 I wish I can give more stars will definitely be back and such amazing customer service they don't allow an option for tips on their machines so if you're paying with card please bring cash for tips
My wife and I have been here a dozen times and we missing coming here. We hadn't been here in a while but thankfully we were in town and stopped by. It's our first time at the restaurant location as we used to go to the truck before. Here's what we ordered: Bean and cheese burrito: honestly a bit disappointed. This is more like a rice burrito as there was not enough beans or cheese. Flavor was a bit lacking. Crispy potato: definitely delicious and crispy! Black bean pepper: our favorite as the texture was on point but the cilantro sauce with cojita cheese made the dish. Crispy green potato: similar to the crispy potato taco but definitely better due to the cilantro sauce. The potato filling was also amazing and the taco overall was presented beautifully. Burnt fries: crispy fries with aioli sauce was the perfect combo - one of my favorite dishes here! Overall, this is our favorite taco spot and we'll always come back here.

I had tri tip nachos and a cucumber drink total was 24 $ and change plus 2$ in tip so 26$ just for me . I was not impressed what so ever plus the place had no AC I would not come back. The nachos were just shredded beef.
This place is open only Thursday through Saturday. I really appreciate the cozy, cultured atmosphere--it's small, relaxed, and inviting. I've visited a few times, and each experience has been wonderful. They also offer vegan options for those who need them. Their style is unique, standing out from most taco spots I've been to. I love seeing the diverse range of people who come here; it really adds to its charm. My little guy gives it a solid 6 out of 7--6...7. Lol. Restroom on site, and service is always amazing.
The star of my meal was the Crispy Fish Taco. I had the three taco combo and had the al pastor, shrimp, and Crispy fish. Next time I definitely need to try the softshell Crab taco and one of their awesome looking mixed drinks. Cute spot and quick service.
Pretty small store but they have a good amount of seating and big booths, I used to eat str8 up when I was going to school at Cypress college and they were still selling out of the small window of a carwash/gas station. Haven't had it since but I always craved it and told everyone that it was my favorite taco spot and it still is. I'm a meat lover through and through but their vegan options are amazing, I honestly prefer them over the meat options here. The cauliflower and potato tacos are my absolute favorite. Jackfruit is also a must try, and their pineapple agua fresca is great too when they have it. Sauces are really good, the red salsa is a perfect spice level *If you have a couple bucks to spare, definitely get their handmade tortillas!! Gamechanger for sure Service is standard and friendly, they also have an ordering kiosk to speed things up
I have been meaning to try this place, but it always seemed like or looked like they were closed. Being open only Thursday to Sundays, I never had the opportunity to be near by at the right time until now. I had to make it for take away, but I wasn't far so I knew I'd be able to still eat it fresh. I went on the website to try and order, but it suggested to use the app. So I downloaded the application to place my to go order. The thing I hate about online ordering is the lack of options the app gives you. The photos on Yelp for their menu was a bit out dated and there were items on the menu, but we're not showing up on the App. Between the photos, the website and the App, it seemed like there were three types of Taco combos, but when I went on the App, there were only two. I wanted the three taco combo which came with a drink. From the photos they offer agua frescas such as cucumber lime, horchata and Hibiscus, but when I tried to order through the App, I chose the three tacos that I wanted, but besides sodas, the only agua fresca option was cucumber lime, so like I said, that's why I don't really like ordering from websites or applications because of the lack of options or ways to modify your order. They did have a place for notes, but through my past experiences, establishments do not always read those, so either way I had to call them. So I called them and they were willing to take my order over the phone. I ordered the three taco combo with the drink. I went with beef cheeks, Tri tip, and the deep fried fish tacos. Also, I was able to choose my hibiscus agua Fresca since I ordered on the phone. Pick up process went fairly smooth. I was able to pick up and get back to still having very crispy, crunchy fish tacos, which were very tasty. It gives this other fish taco place I go to a run for their money. The beef cheeks and Tri tips were also really good too and the amount of meat in the tacos made up for the average price of each taco. I would give them future visits for sure, but maybe trying to dine-in next time might be better. Str8 Up Tacos were pretty straight up good.
Amazing tacos. Was in the area and started looking on Yelp for something new. When I saw that this place made the top 100 list for tacos, I had to try it. We tried the following: fish (5/5 - amazing taste and a great spice level), soft shell crab (5/5 - beautiful presentation and tasted great), crispy potato (5/5 - I was hesitant but it was so good), and the grilled shrimp (3/5 - decent flavor but the shrimp are too small and do not match the quality of the other tacos). I upgraded my tacos to the handmade tortillas and I loved them. They also have green sauce (mellow tomatillo flavor with a gentle spice and a red sauce that has much more bite. Highly recommend this place. Would absolutely come back.
so glad this place was open! The hours are confusing but luckily it was there to satiate my craving today. Picked up a crispy potato, green potato, and cauliflower taco to go. The tacos were large and pretty generously filled. The spicy salsa is truly spicy and works well with the tacos.
Shame on me. Str8 Up Tacos has been on yelp's national top 100 for tacos for several years and, despite living less than a mile away, it took me more than five years to try it. What was the hold up? Honestly, I wasn't sure about whether I was feeling tacos that were focused on vegetarian and gluten free flavors. The thing is this: while their vegan and vegetarian tacos are good, they also have great meat options as well. I'm good with spending more for a handmade tortilla, so I spent $1 for their thick, handmade corn tortilla. The corn tortilla is what elevates it to the highest levels. I had a potato taco, a cauliflower taco, and a beef cheek taco. The beef cheek taco was nicely seared, but it retained a lot of juiciness. The cauliflower taco is a battered, fried main ingredient that was a great entry-level option. It's crispy, juicy, well-seasoned, and well-sauced. I wasn't missing the meat when I had this. I didn't love my potato taco as the proportion of the potato was too high for my tastes; however, they have plenty of interesting taco options here to bring me back! I think this is a really cool spot for some unique taco flavors in an outstanding tortilla. The only drawback is that the price is high. It's $4.60 per taco, but I spent an extra $1 for handmade tortillas and an extra $1 for guacamole. $25 for a 3-taco combo is a little steep (when you factor in taxes, my drink, and my upgrades); however, I do think that the price is warranted given the flavor of the ingredients and the quality of the presentation/cooking here. When I come back, I definitely want to try their black bean taco, their tritip taco, and a seafood taco! They're straight-up good tacos and, if you're a vegetarian or vegan, then it's a no-brainer.
I had Str8 Up Tacos bookmarked for the longest. However, every time I got the craving, they were closed, (Only open Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 5pm. So basically, they run on part-time hours and full-time flavor). But the stars finally aligned, my schedule cooperated, and the taco universe opened its flavorful gates. I walked in, took one bite (similar to their motto, One Bite Away), and instantly questioned every taco I ever had before. I mean... what have I been eating all my life? Sigh! My boo and I got the #2 (3 tacos and a drink). I went with 2 hard shell asada and 1 soft asada. He got all hardshell, 2 asada and 1 chicken. For drinks, I got the cucumber lime, he got the hibiscus. We dined in, and let me tell you, I was not ready for what was about to happen! I used to think "tacos are tacos." I was so WRONG. These tacos are the Michael Jordan of flavor, the Denzel Washington of seasoning (smooth, bold, unforgettable) and the Prince of presentation: funky, flawless, and leaving you wanting an encore. Literally, hands down the BEST tacos I have ever had, and no, that's not a hyperbole! I've had tacos across cities, states, and questionable taco trucks at 1 a.m. and none compare to Str8 Up Tacos. The shells were perfectly crispy, the meat seasoned well and the drinks were refreshing, cold, and just the right amount of sweet. The moral of the story... don't sleep on Str8 Up Tacos. Adjust your schedule. Skip work if you have to. These tacos are worth calling in "taco sick" for. I even returned the next day to get some more! I will definitely be returning sooner than later!
Great experience! Everything was top tier, fresh and delicious! Service was excellent, the guy was patient and knowledgeable as well as accommodating with special request. We got chips and guacamole, a veggie taco, al pastor, rice bean and cheese, and fish. They were all delicious but the fish was outstanding! Light batter, flavorful, fresh slaw and a yummy sauce on top. The cucumber lime aqua fresca was so refreshing, this is my new favorite taco shop

First of all I want to know WHY it took me SO long to find this GEM....after ONE burrito ONE I finally feel like I found a vegan spot that's more up my alley in quality and quantity & looking forward to going BACK to try what else they have to offer!!! I ordered the jackfruit burrito no beans no rice add mushrooms and I was BEYOND satisfied as the burrito was HEFTY AF not to mention JUICY AF filled with the BEST flavor- and the cilantro and spicy aioli sauces to be honest with you though they were GOOD I didn't need it like I thought I would (being that there is no queso in the burrito) the way the jackfruit was cooked shiiiiiit PACKED FLAVOR! Customer service was also ON POINT, there was A LOT of traffic upon walking in therefore I KNEW there was a strong possibility I was about to get my monies worth and taste buds were gonna be happy right along with my tummy! People were seated and coming in and some coming out I LOVE THAT! also the woman who took my order TOOK MY ORDER and the woman who brought my food out to me... Delivered EXACTLY what I had ordered because SHE personally came to me as I awaitied my order to double check she made my burrito the way I wanted- I have ZERO complaints.. I'll be back FOR SURE especially if they keep making my jackfruit burritos they way they made it yesterday. The inside was beautifully decorated and was very welcoming... I need to make this update: Me and my husband ate here again today (8/30/26) This is his 4th visit in the last 3 weeks; two of which I went with him. He said that it has declined with each visit... Nobody was at the counter to take our order when we walked in. We waited for a few minutes then said "hello" to see if anyone came out. They did not. We ended up ordering on the kiosk (which we don't like doing, we'd rather order with a human). The guy finally came out, took someone else's order after us and his food came out within a couple of minutes. No joke. Meanwhile, it took our food 12 minutes; which isn't terribly long but we were already turned off at this point... I asked for more water (they have a self serve water jug), the guy didn't fill it. I asked for water again when our food came out (different guy). Then several minutes later the original guy said he filled the water. Ate our food. My bean and cheese burrito was meh. Kind of bland with not much cheese, and the cheese it did have was all clumped in one spot, not spread out evenly. My husband got his usual three tacos. He was very unhappy with them today. He upgraded to the homemade tortillas. They feel apart. He said it reminded him of tamale masa, they just crumbled apart. CONSISTENCY matters. We left unsatisfied and likely will not return. It quickly went from "wow this place is amazing, we found a new awesome taco spot" to "well, that was short lived". I'd also like to mention his 3rd visit with our daughter. They ordered. Waited 25 minutes. Still no food. He asked about it and they never put the ticket in to be made. UGH. read more

Right off the bat the decor and ambiance was putting out the good vibes. The service was seriously top notch 5 star off the heazy fo sheazy. Christopher was so nice and let me try a sample of the tri tip and pastor before ordering. Didn't have a pic to post of my tacos cause I ate them so dang fast. I got the tri tip, chickpea elote and fish tacos. The tri tip was super tender and flavorful. The fish taco one of the best fish tacos I've ever had and I'm from San Diego! Heaven. Saw something on this place on Instagram a while ago. Sounded awesome. Happened to be in their area. I was on Yelp searching on potato tacos, saw them come up, and came in. Ordered a trio taco plate: crispy green potato taco (non-spicy), portobello taco, and a tri-tip taco. Oh, and a horchata. I loved loved loved them all, in the order I ordered them. So crispy, so hot, so flavorful, so delicious! I did manage to take a photo, and I ate them like I had been starved. I ordered guacamole on the side, but they didn't need it at all and I was too full to enjoy it by itself. Go Here. Now. SO GOOD read more

Some of the best tasting and unique tacos I've had. Is on the list for Los Angeles's best 100 tacos . Vegetarian offerings is quite extensive. Roasted avocado guacamole plus chips fresh out of the fryer was excellent. I got the 3 taco combo that comes with an agua fresca (I usually get cucumber/lime), but other flavors available seasonally. Tonight it was Guava and hibiscus (Jamaica?). The Elote (sweet corn) and crispy chickpea taco is very fun to eat. Crunchy potato taco comes two ways : with cilantro (green crunchy potato) or plain potatoes - layers of potatoes deep fried taco, topped with cabbage and relish including red onion. Beef cheek taco - meat was so tender and had a really unctuous mouth feel. I've had the jackfruit taco in the past but that's a mind over matter experience for me - I could sense the very floral taste and expected the sweetness of jackfruit. Kids menu had a smaller quesadilla, we opted for fries - those were skinny, crisp & delicious (I think i ate at least 1/3 of the dish). It's not your usual taco stand for sure, because i somehow ended up spending well over $100 for 3 - taco trio combos plus one burrito. You place your order at the counter or a kiosk, pay first then food gets brought to table by a server. For Dine in, we were given two types of salsa in squeeze bottles. Salsa is also serve yourself on the counter, napkins, bags, to go boxes and utensils also self serve. We bussed our table at the end. Very interesting decor on walls, several booth type areas, plus two separate and smaller tables. Only one high chair is available. read more

This is the first time I've come to this location we randomly stumbled upon it. My friend doesn't eat meat so I was so excited when I saw straight up tacos because I knew she could finally enjoy taco with me ! I always think Latin people are happy. It's because they eat tacos! . So if you want to get happy come to straight up tacos there's something for everybody.! read more

First off the tacos are straight up delicious and tasty! My boyfriend and i decided to kick off 2025 by getting tacos and we decided on this place and we were not disappointed! We both ordered a combo #2, it comes with 3 tacos and a drink. For my combo I got the tri tip, beef cheek, and carnitas with a cucumber like drink. For his combo he got shrimp, tri tip, and carnitas with a cucumber drink as well. The tacos were well marinated and seasoned. My favorite of all the tacos was the carnitas but all of them were really good. Service is great, the guy who helped us was friendly, professional, and efficient. He was the only one working the counter and he was the one that brought us our food when it came out: As for the location itself, it was clean and organized. You pay first and then they bring your food out to you. They give you the salsa bottles, either hot or salsa verde: both were awesome! Love the artwork, flower wall, and decor. Definitely recommend this place for amazing tacos! read more

Everything was delicious. Food is a little pricey, but most things are nowadays. I got a portobello taco tri-tip taco and al Pastor taco. All good will be coming back. From what I heard they have remodeled so the place is a little bit bigger. They offer free water in the dining area as well. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat. I'm a vegetarian and am used to having few choices. My meat lovers aren't disappointed either. My colab says their carnitas are the best. (He also loves their red salsa so much he takes a shot while we wait for our food). Also - request the handmade corn tortillas - it's worth the extra bucks. I also like to add the toasted cheese to some of my tacos too. Chips - OMG - they come out hot, crispy, and lightly salted. Make sure you order the guac! The only downside was the short open hours and they only have a handful of tables. However, the recently expanded their hours Thur-Sat!!! This means tacos for dinner! Very good tri tip taco, home made tortilla is the best. Kinda pricey 5.25 for 1 standard size taco. Its harder and harder to eat out with the crazy prices. Wish their salsa wasn't so watery. read more

I cannot rave enough about Str8 Up Taco. Every bite is so flavorful, and it shows their true culinary skills. Over the past six years, they've consistently raised the bar for tacos in Orange County/Los Angeles. Their vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian options are exceptional, even for the biggest meat lovers.. The crispy black bean tacos are so good: fried yellow chiles coated with a savory black bean corn mix, cotija cheese, pepita seeds, and a creamy cilantro dressing. Another must-try is their Green Crispy potato tacos: paired with their house made creamy cilantro dressing, cotija cheese, onions/cilantro. The shrimp taco is also a standout, with its irresistible homemade mild red sauce!! (I love their salsas and sauces!) The food is always made fresh to order, so it arrives hot, fresh, and crispy. I have mixed feelings about this place. It's definitely not bad, but not memorable to the point where I'd find myself going back. The corn tortillas and green salsa are delicious, but the chicken was shredded and too marinated, leaving a really saucy/slightly soggy overpowering texture in my mouth. However, the fish taco was absolutely delicious. I'm not sure what the fish is but I think it's cod. The restaurant is self serve for the most part and clean. Great tacos, once you ordered be prepared to wait. The food is fresh!! Once you walk in if no one is at counter just use self kiosk to the right. Spanish music playing in background to set the mood making me want my food more haha. They have a great amount of tables. Now what I ordered The tacos are the star of the show but lets save the best for last. Had the quesadilla was really fresh so hot couldn't pick it up at first, Great flavor to the carne asada good amount of cheese. Now the tacos got the chicken and al pastor. The tortillas were fresh, the al pastor was good need that piece of pineapple and would have been great, the chicken was hot, steamy and perfect flavor. About a year ago, I randomly came across Str8 Up Tacos on Yelp while searching for vegan options, and I'm so glad I did. It's honestly been one of my favorite finds. What immediately stood out to me was the variety. As someone who is plant-based, I'm used to restaurants having one or two "okay" options. But Str8 Up Tacos has plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, plus options for people who eat meat and seafood. It's such a breath of fresh air to look at a menu and actually feel excited about multiple dishes instead of settling for the one thing you can eat. I switch up my order almost every time because there's so much to try. The first time I went, I dined in. The second time, I brought my partner (who is also plant-based), and he was blown away by the flavors. Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully made. We also grabbed aguas frescas, which were so refreshing and paired perfectly with the tacos. My personal favorites? The hibiscus taco, the green potato taco, the chickpea elote, and the red salsa definitely have my heart. And I say that as someone who usually only prefers red salsa, but their green salsa is actually so good too. They really don't miss. One thing I especially love is that they use black beans and cilantro-lime rice. I will choose black beans over refried or pinto beans any day, and their cilantro-lime rice is so fresh and flavorful. When you're centrally located to several other taco places, it's important to try them all...or at least a few. My husband said he was picking up tacos. I quickly looked up their menu and spotted FISH TACOS. Thank you for saving me a trip down to Alondra. THESE TACOS WERE AMAZING!! Nice size pieces of fish. The batter is yummy and had a solid crunch. We've been coming to Str8 Up Tacos since 2020--back when they were at their original location--and we've been loyal customers ever since. The food is always top-notch, and the customer service is consistently friendly and welcoming. Everything on the menu is delicious--it just depends what you're in the mood for. Burritos, bowls, tacos... they nail it every time. If they were open Sundays or had longer hours, we'd definitely go even more often! But we'll keep showing up when we can--this spot is 100% worth it. read more

Not certain but I don't see why the nachos (corn tortilla chips or french fries) or bowls (rice-based) wouldn't be gluten free.

No parking space?
Lol. I tried parking in 3 different areas of the parking lot and the car wash employees kept asking me to move my car.
Are the tacos pretty small? I could eat about six street tacos before I feel satisfied.
They are street tacos but we do fill them up well . Also we carry all of our options in burritos
