Later, my wife determined that while the clothes were cute, they were not really her style. We decided to return the them two weeks later. We needed to return the clothes within two weeks as this was the stores policy. We drove the 70 miles and planned to spend another day at the ocean so it wasn't an issue. When we went to the store to return the clothes (only three items), the same young lady who helped us before was helping my wife with the return. She was curtious and asked if there was something wrong with the clothes. My wife explained that the clothes were just not her style. While the first lady was processing the return, a second lady (blonde) came up and asked why my wife was returning the clothes and she gave the same response. Then the blonde lady became very agressive. She asked why my wife bought the clothes if she did not like them. My wife was shocked and asked if she was the owner. She said she just worked there and repeated her question. She was agressive and rude. I was shocked and had stayed by the door. I now went over to my wife who was visibly shaken up. I asked the sales lady if there was a problem. She said no that the return was being process but didn't understand why my wife had bought the clothes if she didn't like them. I asked her if she really wanted me to tell her what I thought or if she just wanted to let the nice sales lady process the return and for us to leave. My wife was offering to look at other clothes but I said we will not be shopping here again. We purchased a few items because we thought they were cute. She later decided they were not her style. We dorove 70 miles to return them. And we get a very agressive cross-examination from a sales clerk. We are done.

The sales woman was very friendly and nice, her well behaved doggy lays sweetly on one of the chairs while "mommy" works - how sweet is that. The shopping plaza it's in is dog friendly, so there are a lot of dogs around. Next time I come to Carmel, I am coming to this store. You can still purchase items online and request special orders. To find the shop in town, it's located next to Dona Esther's, walk back and it's across from a local brewery. Not least because this is a small town, and pretty much everything is within walking distance. Thus even if the spot you find is down a ways, it still won't be an issue to walk here. This is a smaller, intimate gallery. While most of the art is created by the woman running the place, she does have some small collaborative efforts. The brooches, costume jewelry and skater art swag are in collaboration with other artists. All the art is latin styles and there are some simply epic star wars styled works. The Milagros style pieces are unique, and it goes without saying that the Dia de los Muertos is highly creative. There is also some pop art on premises-a handmade snarky chandelier, fantastically worked skateboards, serape flags (no really), a stranger things waffle painting, cactus planters, and well whatever the house artist is inspired to make. Pricing is at the artists discretion and will range all over the place, but significant creative pleasing originals can be had for less then a hundred bucks, and some of the smaller items go below ten, which is a total bargain for work that is both creative, modern and very well done. If you are so inclined, the artist has been known do commissioned pieces(such as a portrait) but that's something you'll have to work out with her. Overall it's a newer, smaller, and the most creative art shop along the main downtown drag.

Everything is her own design, which she handsews stitch by stitch herself. She explained that she uses premium leather that she gets from personal contacts (from when she was an interior designer) that produce leather as fine as those for Hermès. Like her bags, clutches, and wallets put Coach to shame, and if you put a Prada or LV emblem (minus the luxury brand specific designs, stitches, etc, of course), I would believe that her bags belonged in the same tier. I snatched the most classic looking snazzy bag because she doesn't usually make more of one kind of bag and will change up the color, style, etc. Please go in and support this talented local artist!
