Walked in ready to spend money on some gold earrings. The lady working counter was nice and accommodating towards my wife and I. My wife was asking for some gold earrings that are above 14k when the owner of the store popped out of the back room and said hello then asked my wife "how are you going to pay me" this threw us both off. She said by card, he then says "what card"? She said debit card. He then takes some fancy earrings out of the back office and proceeds to tell my wife the price. I got up from the cozy couch and was about to tell my wife let's go after hearing this guy be absolutely rude and condescending. I stared at him until he looked at me and I asked if he was the owner and he said yes, I introduced myself and he introduced himself and it seemed to calm him down a bit. We left and didn't purchase because of his behavior. Will take our money elsewhere. Next time let the lady help us, she has better communication skills. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. I don't recommend this place at all especially to get your jewelry sized. I took my bracelet to him to get it sized the first time he measured my wrist. But then when I went to pick it up it was still big like he didn't even do anything. Then left it again and still was really big. He told me that's how it's supposed to be. Not when the bracelet goes all the way up my arm. I had it there for almost 3 weeks and literally was a waste of time. WASTED TIME AND MONEY He is also very rude. DON'T RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL! Gaspar took advantage of me many years ago and I wouldn't go back to this crook if my life depended on it. I bought an expensive set of earrings for my girlfriend. As it turns out, one of her ear lobes could not hold the large earring without collapsing into an unattractive angle. She had no interest in anything else in his store. When I went to make the return, he refused and accused me of having her wear the earrings once to be seen in public and was now returning them. This review is for anyone considering getting a ring resized here. Resizing is sent out of the shop and my white gold ring came back yellow and burned looking on the bottom. When I raised my concerns the owner told me that it was normal and necessary in how they resize rings. I ended up taking it to another jeweler where they were thankfully about to fix it. The second issue with this place was that they changed the price from what we were told when ordering the resizing and when we went to pay. Took my wedding ring in to have it repaired on Thursday morning and got a call back Friday afternoon saying it was done. I was amazed! I was told this doesn't happen often, but I was ecstatic to only be missing my ring for less then two days. The staff were friendly and let me in even though they were not quite ready to open Thursday morning. My repair had been quoted to cost $80 at another jeweler, and was quoted half the price at Gasper's. Went in to get a bracelet repaired and Gasper offered to clean my ring and tennis bracelets I was wearing while I waited. He took my ring and examined it and thankfully showed me where two of the prongs on my 2.25 carat diamond were worn to almost nothing! My ring was my great grandmothers and very sentimental and I am still thankful. That was at least 10 visits ago. Any jewelry or watch repair or cleaning I go to Gaspar...the best in town. I first went here to get the wristband of my husband's watch repaired. They were very nice and and it only cost $5. I've been back since for several jewelry repairs, and once when they made an identical replica of an earring I lost. I can't imagine going anywhere else now. I wish they carried some more contemporary jewelry designs though -- I'd love to purchase from them. read more

Very poor recent experience with owner regarding repair. Untimely and unkindly service. Sadly, I can no longer recommend Gaspar's.

I got a watch battery that they said was warranted for 1 year. When it didn't last I brought it in for my guaranteed new battery. They tried another battery and said it did work either so it was something with the movement. They said they it needed to be rebuilt and could send it for repair cost of at least $100. When I told them I really like the watch and have had it since the late 90's , he said I probably got my money's worth then. While they were checking my watch they told me to look around and send in my 'boyfriend' cause it was close to Valentine's Day. They have nice things but I don't need jewelry and showed no interest. Don't know where I'd wear it. I think they sensed that and decided not to help me much. I took the watch elsewhere and had a new battery put in and it's been working great read more

gasper is amazing!! I accidentally washed AND dried my boyfriends watch. Once I realized my mistake the band was missing a pin. I called up gasper and he told me to come in. He fixed it right away and didn't charge me anything. For a very nice jewelry store and him knowing how desperate I was I was expecting him to charge me whatever he felt like. I have been to Gasper's Jewelers many times over the years, primarily to help with exchanging worn watch bands or watch battery repairs. However, recently, I took a somewhat delicate ring with multiple water pearls and diamonds to Gasper that needed to be resized. I could tell it was a tricky job but Gasper took on the project and returned a ring that is beautiful and that I now love wearing frequently. I definitely plan to bring more jewelry to Gasper for resizing and re-designing, too. I also enjoyed seeing the array of lovely jewelry and Lladro pieces in his spacious and airy store and will keep it all in mind for the future. Called for some help, because my setting is loose, trying to get it fixed before a trip, and was told "Go on your trip, and come see us when you're back, we're just too swamped with repairs." I get not having time, and that's ok - what I'm sad about is a jeweler telling me to take my loose 2.5 carat diamond setting on vacation loose! Shame on you. My husband got my engagement ring made there and purchased a wedding band that was in the case. He received great customer service as he was purchasing the jewlery (as he took our money!) and received a 1 year warranty on the rings. Little did we know, we would need that warranty over and over....this purchase was in September 2015 and within the first 3 months it lost 3 little diamonds out of the band that needed to be replaced (luckily under warranty) but along with the replacement we received a horrible customer service experience mixed with a bad attitude and intimidation from the owner claiming it was my fault that the diamonds were falling out. I have a desk job and he said I was being too rough with the ring at work. We went round and round with him regarding the quality of the ring and he continually blamed me for the damage. Well now I am home and not working, and I lost another diamond. It is the 4th diamond and the year warranty is no longer available. Wedding rings are supposed to last a life time and they are made to be worn daily- but not if they are from here. I will never recommend this jeweler or his work. He sends out his work to be made and they do not back their work or the quality. Take your money and time somewhere else where your jewelry will be made well and you will not be blamed for their poor work and quality. read more

Wanted to purchase a large stone and custom setting like a setting I saw online. I had stopped in to Gaspers previously and liked the man I spoke with. Gasper jumped in, got a quote and was really attentive. Then the quote came back over $1k higher than what I could buy the original for. I asked "why would I pay more, it makes no sense?" I said I'd get my stone first, then we could talk about the setting. He said name my price/size and he'd find the center stone for it. I told him the size and price and he literally laughed said I'd never get a stone that size for my budget, maybe $5-10k more. Long story short... I did find it. Larger and under my budget, GIA certified appraised for 10K more than what I paid. I took it to him to discuss the setting and when he looked at my stone he LIED to my face and said it had inclusions that were not there. (I've got a GIA cert and 2 other local jewelers assurances that it has NONE of the inclusions he said). When I looked, I told HIM what he was pointing out as an inclusion was nothing more than a reflection and dirt.. He dropped it & changed the subject. I said thanks and left. The fact is Gasper was annoyed I didn't buy the stone from him and I was savvy enough not to let him scare me. IF you unwisely choose to use this jeweler, you had BETTER know your prices/values and be knowledgeable about gemology and the diamond business - that's all ill say. Use Marchesa Jewelry in Pebble or Hesselbein's Jewelers in Crossroad instead. They are highly respected, AND extremely honest. read more
