Just had the most comprehensive and thorough exam by Dr. Barrera and her staff.. Started off with some state of the art exrays and pictures of my teeth. Safe to say she could see my thoughts with all the pix lol. I felt safe with the covid precautions and I love that their lead vest covered my neck as well. Next was an AMAZING cleaning by Pam the hygienist. I just came out of braces and she helped to remove a years worth of build up2. My teeth look and feel perfect and clean now. After my cleaning I was examined by Dr. Barrera . What a sweet and knowledgeable doctor. I was on the fence with getting veneers and she gave me her honest opinion of my teeth. She made some recommendations that will save me thousands on my smile makeover. I didn't feel rushed and she took her home explaining herself. In all my years of seeing dentists from LA to Beverylhiils this by far was the most thorough. Definitely will bring my husband here. Can't wait to do the in office teeth whitening next week . If you need a dentist this is the place to go! I called in with an emergency because I was in a car accident and experienced trauma to the face. Long story short, I chipped my two front teeth and one of them was pushed backward. Patricia answered the phone when I called in at 8am - she expressed concern and was extremely thoughtful. She popped me on the doctor's schedule right away and I was seen once I arrived to the office. When I met with Dr. Barrera she was kind and thorough in her evaluation. She explained to me that I needed to see a specialist for my specific situation and her office went so far as to call ahead for me and set up the required appointments. I would like to start off by mentioning the fact that I am a new patient for Dr. Barrera. From the moment I walked into the office, I was greeted instantly by one of the friendly front office staff. While you wait, they offer complementary coffee, water, and snacks, which you can never go wrong with. The entire office was spotless. Everything was organized and very tidy. Very poor crown work done 2020 and came off while brushing my teeth 5 months later! I emailed Dr Barrera that same night with ZERO response to this day! I researched on Yelp to find the best Dentist in Torrance due to a very bad experience with Dentists doing poor crown work and explained this to the Receptionist but unfortunately Dr Barrera's dental work was by far the worse! She worked both sides of my mouth for 2 teeth which was very painfull to keep your mouth open stretched out for hours and she was so rough she tore my skin on the corner of my mouth and had the nerve to blame it on face masks! Red flag when a professional tries to make up excuses for there poor skills. I definitely knew something was not right when after 2 months the tooth was still very sensitive and I noticed an odor when flossing both problems I did not have prior to going to Dr Barrera. Fortunately I was referred by a friend to a wonderful Dentist that examined my tooth thoroughly stated the facts that the fit of the crown was not correct no need for root canal which Dr Barrera strongly recommended however endodontist she sent me to said no need. The poor fit of the crown was probably due to the last minute filling she did first without my consent only told me about it after it was done, which was very unprofessional. There was a huge difference with the crown work I got from my new Dentist I did not feel any sensitivity at all, no odor when flossing and the floss does not snag on the crown like how it did with Dr Barrera's poor dental work. read more

I had to downgrade my review, the pros are what was stated but why I downgraded it was for these reasons. One the manager of the practice knew that I needed to use my benefits by the end of the calendar year, yet she neglected to tell me that the dentist would be closing the office on Dec. 18, which made me scramble and go through the hassle of finding a new dentist to finish all the work, also the referrals I was given were to high priced specialists that were not in my insurance plan which should have been checked because by visiting one, I was just wasting both our times and for the second, she was inaccurate in saying consultation would be free, it would not-please see my review on them, Torrance Oral Surgery Center as to why I wouldn't go to them.
