No money driven they requested money each time I visited. I was a new patient and one would really reel someone in before trying to clean their pockets as in catching a fish. I have insurance to cover a antibiotic prescription but they wanted me to pay them 200 bucks for it. I have a tooth that really needs to be extracted and it had a build up of plaque behind it but they tried to convince me that it was a serious infection. When I did get my teeth cleaned the problem was dealth with. I hope you think twice about any recommended service. read more

I came to Dr. Akamoto's office a couple of years ago and love it. Due to my dental insurance change, I switched to an in-network dentist to save money but the service can't compare with Dr. Akamoto's office at all. Wow top notch! Quality service/facility Our family of three just switched our dentist, I was looking for a biological dentist. I found Dr. Okamoto on Yelp and in the last two weeks, all three of us have been here for our first appointments. I first met with Izumi, she was so kind and has been with Dr Steven for many years. She took her time with my X-rays before I Met with Dr Steven. He is VERY thorough, went over my x-rays and took his time explaining my dental health. I then moved on to Renee to have my cleaning done. She also has been here since she was in high school. She is happy, energetic, kind and gentle. We talked and laughed and got to know each other. I could go on and on about this place for days. Our son would leave prior dentist saying his gums got a major workout (which he didn't like). He left here and said he was glad we switched. Front office staff is great also. Was easy to send my records to them and book all our appts. This place is so nice, clean and state of the art equipment. I had been searching for a new dentist since my long time dentist retired...I searched on yelp and noticed that this dental office received some really positive reviews. I submitted a request online 2 weeks ago but did not receive a response..I then called last Saturday, thinking maybe my request didn't process, and I spoke with a front desk clerk. This used to be a great dental facility however they constantly churn staff and they are very rude to patients who have been seeing this dentist before they were born. Dr Steve now wants. payments up front before he performs any work, even from loyal customers who have always paid their bills!!! I just moved to the area and called this office, since it's nearby, to schedule a semi-annual cleaning. I asked them if they took my insurance, which is Delta Dental, to which the person on the end of the phone replied yes. Then she proceeded to tell me the cash price of both a examination fee (which is required for new patients before they can schedule any cleaning), and then a cleaning fee, which may or may not be covered by my insurance. I've provided my insurance, and asked if they could tell me if they accepted my insurance or not. It was a yes or no question, which was responded with, "every insurance is different. Your insurance may or may not cover, and these are the fees you could expect." I've moved from different states and different cities and have been to a number of dentist offices, but this is the first time encountering this kind of an incident. Needless to say, my family will not be visiting this dental office for cleaning or otherwise. read more
