I had a lot call out for work because this system. It's will alarm without any issues. AdT finally send some last week and fixed. But I was asked to pay #1600.55. This company needs to better. A lady call me back to tell me to pay $1600.55 now. She said this it's too much charge to be honest and never sign to pay $1,600 for equipment charge one time. So disappointed in my ADT Blue experience. I have been paying for 2.5 years and just want the service to stop. They will not assist in the installation. They assume everyone can watch a video and magically be able to work by installing a product into Stucco housing. It also has to be elevated and I don't have the materials to elevate it. My mother had ADT and passed away. I sold her house and canceled the service by phone with ADT. They continue to send text and mail about late payments. I have spoke to them on the phone to make sure it was canceled and they said that it was. Guess what, the geniuses at ADT continue to mail and text about late payments. The WORST of the WORST. I wouldn't use ADT again if they gave me a full system for free. They do not let you cancel for 30 days even though you have SOLD your house. I have full access to open the doors of somebody else's house through my app. You cannot change anything on your panel or do any self service whatsoever. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. They make it extremely difficult to cancel their services or make any changes. I have been a customer for over 20 years but ADT is UNSAFE. To save money, they switched from calling you back if the alarm is triggered. Now, as long as you turn it off within a certain amount of time, they do not call or text to see if you're OK. That is merely to save money. So if a burglar breaks in your house, puts a gun to your head and tells you to turn off your alarm, nobody is calling you to see if everything is OK. Simplisafe on the other hand will text or call you and if you don't respond they will send the police regardless of how quickly you turn off your alarm. RUN do not WALK from ADT. read more

1. I got this service after transfering from another company with the promise of 1 free year of monitoring. The first month I received a bill. I inquired via chat and phone calls with no resolution. So I cancelled. 5 months later I'm still getting monthly invoices for a service that I don't even have anymore and I can't seem to cancel it. 2. Service is horrible. I am soooo glad I parted ways with ADT. My front camera never worked right from day one. Several techs came out to fix it and never did. The last guy told me he would have to order another camera and ADT will add the cost to my account. That was BS and the camera never came and he never came back. There was an accident in my front yard where someone hit my mailbox. I tried to view the footage and nothing was recorded. That was one of the last straws for me so I started looking for a replacement security company. After a lot of research I decided to go with the company starting with the letter V. The day the new company was scheduled to do the install I tried to contact ADT with no luck. So V started to remove the old system and the alarm was going crazy. Everytime he removed a sensor the alarm would go crazy and I would disarm it. The tech from V said they should be calling you or the police should show up. No one called and no one showed up to check if my family was safe. That was the last straw for me. After the install was completed I called ADT again to let them know about the change and for my final payment and cancellation fee. They bounced me around to several departments to figure this out. I gave my account information and password to so many people I forgot the count. Come to find out I was never being monitored because they never completed the account when installed. They accepted my monthly payment for one year and never match the payment with an account. I'm lucky nothing happened to my house and family. Largest and oldest security company don't mean crap, they just want your money and to have a blue sign in your yard. I had North Star for many years. They were wonderful and I expected the same service when they sold to ADT. WRONG. All I got was a higher bill! Their service is worthless. I knew more than the moron they sent out to get my ring doorbell and Yale electronic door lock to merge with ADTs system. They never followed up and I ended up getting both to hook up by myself. After deciding to go with another security company, called to cancel ADT and they offer me 2 cameras, 11 window sensors, 1 doorbell, and 3 motion detectors for $900. Why the heck didn't you offer this before when I initially called? The gag is even if you pay for equipment upfront you are still locked into a 3 year contract and will be penalized if you cancel. ADT is THE WORST! They subcontract with ANYONE to sell contracts and get your money. If you have a problem, good luck finding anyone to take responsibility; each one will blame the other and hang up on you. 'On Hold' wait times are HOURS long so they can win by attrition. If they can get you to hang up, they don't have to address your problem AND they can continue to bill you for doing nothing. I proved they were not monitoring my system by unplugging the main panel and disconnecting the back-up battery inside... it has been over a month and the "monitors" haven't noticed that the entire system disappeared! Not one call, text or email... shouldn't the disappearance of a 'monitored' client send up a red flag to make contact and find out where they went? I'm not sure what the resale value is on the equipment but burglars take note; unhook it all and take it with you, they'll never notice! LOL! I have bought out my remaining contract, (nearly $1500), uninstalled everything myself, emailed every address they offer, sat on hold for DAYS, and still nobody knows how to stop them billing me! This is worse than a time-share, at least with a time-share I get to vacation at a resort once in a while! ADT doesn't give a sh*t about anything but collecting money. I have regretted going with them from the start we got there newer system and we have had nothing but problems with them. There equipment is very cheap, and there sensors keep falling down , and won't align up right . They won't send out someone without charging you a fortune . The batteries have to be replaced every 3-4 months and they use expensive odd ball batteries instead of traditional AA or AAA batteries. These people. I had service with them for 6 years. I'm moving tomorrow into a house that doesn't have ADT equipment, so I went to the website to log into my account and cancel my service. No such luck. The only way to cancel is to call. The first rep took my name, address, verified my password, my phone number, and then told me he would "get me to the right department." 15 minutes later, a second rep took my name, address, verified my password, my phone number, and then told me he would "get me to the right department." Why was I not already in the right department? Another 8 minutes and I'm talking to a 3rd rep, WHO CAN BARELY HEAR ME. I shout all my information again, along with the information that I've been on the phone 30 minutes and I'm now extremely irritated. The thing I'm doing takes 2 words to entirely explain. "I'm cancelling" Why is that hard? The 3rd rep I spoke to asked for my NEW address in case I was due a partial refund. Then she told me it would take 30 days to deactivate my system, and I'd be paying $50 for an entire month of service in a place where I no longer live. So the new address was really for ADT to send me another bill, not a refund. Honestly, I'm done with these people. From my first to my last interaction with this company, it's been a hassle. Extremely Disappointed with ADTs Poor Technical Support I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with ADT, and I must say that it has been nothing short of a nightmare. Eight months ago, my family and I moved to a new house and we promptly requested that our security service be transferred to our new location. Instead of relocating our existing service, they added a new service at the new house while retaining the old service at our previous address. As a result, we were unknowingly being charged for two separate locations for 6 months! Upon realizing the error, I removed my billing information so they wouldn't charge me again and immediately contacted their customer support, hoping for a swift resolution. I was met with some very nice people that seemed like they wanted to help, but I had to spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to explain the situation to multiple representatives, each seemingly unaware of the previous conversations. I had to explain my situation more times than I can count. Finally, I was promised a refund for the overcharges on the old location. However, what was supposed to take 30 days, but it was more like 60 days, and I have yet to receive a single penny back into my bank account. Shortly after the 60 days I did receive a credit to my ADT account. And then immediately noticed that they are still billing me for the inactive service using the money that they credited me. I do not like writing bad reviews but this is crazy. The security service is OK and we have no problems with the security service ADT provides, But I just want my money back. read more

SHADY!!!! When they come to your house to do an "mandatory upgrade" they will trick you into signing a 3 year contract. This is very much a standard business practice for them. I was ANGRY that my wife paid it I would have happily dodged collection calls since we sold the house 3 months after getting duped into a new contract. What they do should be 100% illegal. If you are signing a new three year contract that should be CLEARLY COMMUNICATED. The reason it isn't is so they insert you know what into you know where if you sell the property. Stay away. I've had them for over a year now and the biggest issue is the ADT mobile app. It doesn't work well at all, you try to see the cameras and it is either offline or it just spins and never pulls up your video. I've complained several times to customer service, but never get any where. They always tell me that it is my connection, but I have the best fiber optic cable out there and 1 gig. Our computer room is farther away than the adt box and we don't have Wi-Fi issues. Router and gateway are new. My mistake was I already paid off all of the equipment within 3 months of contract. I don't like where you can't see the cameras from the main pad either. I had Vivint before and there equipment and service was way better, but twice as expensive. If they could use better quality equipment and better mobile app to see your videos, they would be #1 for security. read more

DO NOT ever choose Google Home with ADT!!! I changed my ISP and all my cameras are no longer working. 1.5 hours later with an ADT tech on the phone and they still do not work!!!! There is no way to manually change the ISP on your google home device, google home app or hardware. Instead you have to climb up a ladder to get to each camera, press the reset button and then re-install the camera on your google home app. For me, with the tech on the phone after 10 tries it still wouldn't work. ADT offered me a technician - 7 days out and I have to pay $$ for as a solution. DO NOT USE ADT/GOOGLE. USE VIVINT!!! I had Vivint on my old home and I can tell you they are 100% superior. I figured with ADT a $7 billion public company and Google a 2.3 TRILLION public company vs. Vivint private, Google / ADT would be better. I WAS WRONG! read more

Have been a customer for thirteen years. Highly disappointed. They call us to tell us they are not receiving communications with our panel. Send out a service rep and come to find out it's been 8 MONTHS. I've paid for eight months of service for nothing!! When I thought my 75 year old wife is safe and my Grandson when I've been gone camping, they were NOT!! Now they want to charge me $186 to fix it even though they have taken my money for eight months with NO COVERAGE!! Time to change service. I spent hours and I mean hours on the phone to customer service, loyalty, billing, service. I actually canceled my service but was fighting to be paid back the money for eight months on NONE service. I was given the run around and in the end they tried to make it MY FAULT that I wasn't being monitored. It got late and I was getting ready to do battle again today. Before I could get hold of them a representative called early this morning and made sense!! They ARE going to fix the system and give me a discount on my bill for a year since they failed to pick up it wasn't working for eight months. I called to see why my driveway camera wasn't recording (only my driveway and not my other cams which always work) and they said sometimes you have to go online and toggle it back on. I went online and toggled it back on and the drivewaycam was recording. A few days later my cars were broken into and guess what, the driveway cam was toggled off. Once my contract is up I will install my own system. Not reliable, with as many years as they have been in business you would expect things to work. Or maybe employees have to much access to the toggle switch and turn them off when needed. Who knows?? ADT has one job and it failed. read more

I asked for a phone call if my alarm went of, I would get and e-mail informing me my alarm went off. We have been ADT customers for many years. We have given God knows how many thousands of dollars to this company. We moved almost 5 months ago and "upgraded" our account. We bought thousands of dollars worth of equipment alone (spotlight cameras, doorbell camera, sensors, smoke detectors, motion sensors, etc), and we pay a monthly fee. Our doorbell camera was defective and quit working appx one month ago. We did not attempt to remove the camera, AT ALL. I went to look at the back of the camera one day, to see if I could see the serial number, and it fell right off the mount, as it was not latched. The doorbell wires stopped it from hitting the ground. ADT would only do virtual calls for attempted assistance, which got us nowhere. The tech that installed the camera did not leave us the box, the manual, the tool to remove the camera from the mount, or the charger for the camera. We contacted that technician and he made an appointment- he never showed up, never called, and we have been unable to get in contact with that guy, to this day. We had to cancel important engagements that day. Finally, they sent a new tech to our residence for $170 to inspect the issue. He concluded that the latch was broken (Which was obviously done upon installation by the installer) and the camera needed to be replaced. I called ADT Customer Loyalty and spoke with a manager. I requested a new camera, free of charge, and a dismissal of the tech service fee. She said there was no mention of "faulty" equipment in the notes, so she could not do that. The tech didn't even get that far with the camera as he immediately deemed the camera irreparable, due to the latch. They then said it was our fault as we damaged the camera trying to remove it during the "virtual meeting" which NEVER HAPPENED! What company craps on long term customers by making them spend thousands of dollars on equipment, plus a monthly fee, give faulty equipment, then charge the customer for new equipment that the company should replace, and charge them $170 every time a technician comes out? I told the manager, if we cannot agree on a resolution, then I will take my business elsewhere. She responded, "Ok. I hate that. Thank you. Bye bye." (That literally happened) What kind of business model is this? I have never seen anything like this in my life. Additionally, we have several sensors that have already been going dead and I personally have been replacing the batteries. We were told the batteries are supposed to last for years. To add, we asked for the yard signs we were supposed to get (as advertised), and we were told, signs don't come with this type of account and we had to pay extra. WHAT?! Needless to say, we will be going with a different company. If you are looking for a good security company that is not going to screw you, that will stand behind their word and their products, and not nickel and dime you every chance they get, ADT IS NOT THAT COMPANY. read more

I've been a customer for over 4 years, their service has fallen off a cliff. They've also charged me hundreds of dollars in unexplained service fees, and then terminated my contract AND charged me a termination fee when I tried to dispute it. The system is installed and working as expected. But I give ADT 2 stars because of their underhanded sales tactics. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I signed on for a 3 year agreement! Never, in all of the conversations that I had with ADT prior to choosing them, and then again when speaking with the sales and installation people, was a 3 year commitment mentioned. Very poor installation tec. He tracked insulation into my house, and was offended when I asked him NOT to track debris from our Crawl Space into our living space. He made "extra" holes in my walls, due to "miscalculations", not did he repair them!!!!! He did not set the sound so we could actually even hear it, so again we had to have someone come back. Their Customer Support is a Joke. A MONTH waiting time to get service! So basically you CANNOT RELY on ADT. Obviously they really don't care about anything other than your payments! read more

DO NOT DO IT!!! Save yourself the trouble. I am not happy with the service at all. It is dependent on the internet. If the internet is down in the area you won't get recordings. The salespeople will tell you it's not the cameras that deter the break-in....well why charge me for them!!! I signed up because I was told I could cancel within months if I wasn't happy. I'm not happy and tried to cancel and found out I am locked into at 24-month contract or I have to pay $1600 cancellation fee. That was not my understanding when I signed up. I had to communicate with the technician that did my install about 5 or 6 times in the 2 months I've had the service because cameras aren't recording. They say it's updates to the system and every other excuse. Get you up and running and then back down the next couple days. I'm exposed already and don't want the service but can't cancel because I can't afford that $1600 charge. If you have issues, have the technician come out to your home DO NOT communicate through text or on the phone. If you have them come out to your home 3 times, you can cancel the service without penalty. If you allow them to give you their phone number and help when things go down....you can't cancel when you decide it's no longer worth the fee for the system not to record activity at your front door.
