ADT service is very inadequate. I had to call on 3 times before I was transferred to a technician and even he was horrible. 2 of the 3 times I called the call was dropped. They didn't bother calling back. I had to re establish next 2 calls. They also had me climb up ladders for cameras. Also I have constant battery dead alarm they can't clear. Doorbell has not worked properly since system was installed. They are quick to install but slow if not impossible to get a technician dispatched. Harassment! Showed up at my door unannounced and uninvited 3x this week. The first time, the guy pushed his way through the front door and entered my home. I immediately asked him to leave and told him I was not interested. 2 days later, two guys show up at my door. Again I asked them to leave but instead they escalated the conversation. Today, the same two guys showed up and would not take no for an answer. The Branch manager literally yelled at me through the closed window. My neighbor came over to see if everything was ok, that's how bad it was. Never would I ever do business with this company. I am a customer for 6 years. I have the security monitoring service and feel that it is extremely secure and safe. The unhappiness can when I had video doorbells and camera systems installed. It was a very expensive system. The installer came at 11 and had to leave at five without getting the system fully operational. He had to schedule a technician to finish the install, and ADT charged me a $25 service fee. That technician did not have the experience and could not figure it out so he had to have a supervisor scheduled to come out.. That supervisor also could not get it fully going and we had to pay yet for another technician to come out. It got so frustrating that I just tried to deal with it the best that I could and unplug it every couple of days to get the cameras to come back online. The doorbells lasted about a year before the internal battery died. I went to batteries plus bulbs, but you cannot get a replacement battery for those cameras. so they are now useless and I am still paying for those for another two years.so they are now useless and I am still paying for those for another two years. I have called technical support spent hours on the phone with virtual technicians. They have all told me the same thing that the equipment that ADT has installed in. My house is subpar and has now been replaced and they are not using any of it anymore including the ADT which is what I used to be able to monitor the cameras. It takes 3 to 5 minutes to be able to get a video feed on the cameras once you open the app. The person who has rang my doorbell has usually laughed by the time the camera comes on. I still have several years to pay for that doorbell and the driveway camera works unreliably on and off. ADT's response was to sell me their new system with a new keypad. I won't need any new cameras except for the doorbell and that's gonna cost me $1200. I am reluctant to spend any more because they have never got it working well. So I would be stuck paying $1000 for the equipment that's no good and 1200 for equipment that I hope will work. If I could I would return the equipment ask them to credit that thousand dollars I still owe, and use somebody else for the video monitoring of the security system.of the security system. I think ADT is a great choice for the windows and doors sensors but if you want anything state of the yard and want a system that you will be able to keep updated with the latest and greatest, do yourself a favor and don't get trapped with ADT. There are literally Dozens of security companies that have phenomenal amenities and options that continue to push to stay state of the art. The worst part is nobody even listens to you at ADT. adt has horrible customer service and sale tactics. they came to install a second camera.... well they couldn't because of stucco or something. I called to reschedule and they could now not add the camera because the employee did put in window sensors and I would have to pay out of pocket for the camera. They charge my card twice every month and are ridiculously over priced and they make it impossible to cancel. You can cancel but you have to pay the reminding months. So what the hell is the point of cancellation. I would not recommend them at all. Over priced, hard to work with and phone waiting times at 60 plus minutes. do yourself a favor and go with the many other options cause they don't do ANYTHING special comparatively to other systems. read more

Do not use this company. Had a system installed a few months ago. My wife and I spent over 5k for this system and from day one, one of our outside cameras have never worked right. Every time we call we get passed around to another department. We were on the phone with customer service for over 2 hours and were passed to 12 different departments. No one here has a clue. ADT told us we need an electrician so I had one at our house with in the hour. The electrician said it was a faulty camera. The ADT technician also said it was a faulty camera. We call ADT again no help after an hour again. Finally after being passed along to 3 different departments over 6 months after install I asked if I could just buy a new camera and they said yes. Underhanded Sells Tactics Charged for an outdoor camera that I didn't want or receive. Called customer service several times for an updated contract or price adjustment for the $289.00 outdoor camera and $10.00 POGO 3M flying leads (whatever that is) to no avail. I requested a call back through the automated system since the wait time was 20 minutes. (Days Later) I'm still waiting on the call back. Called customer service again, transferred to someone who was extremely rude and would not give me her name then hung up on me. Called customer service right back, asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. The customer service person I spoke to tried to help me however no manager was available. They do NOT provide good services. For almost then ENTIRE time we used them, we were not able to log into ANY of their app or sites. I would change the password and it would still not work. When they asked for our account number I would explain to them that we couldn't get it because nothing would let us into our account. The company is hot garbage, and the customer service is even worse. Have a "low battery," which means I can't use the service until it is fixed and there is a constant beep until the battery is changed. So I called in to get it fixed. They say I can't do this in one call; first, they charge you $32 and mail you a new battery (you would think if they want me to keep their service they would pay for the battery, but no. I let that slide). Once that finally arrives, you have to call in a 2nd time, and they will give you a tech to talk you through the steps to replace the battery, and have your tools ready (and it's not as easy as it sounds) or they can charge you $60 to send out a tech to replace it. So, $92 to replace a battery unless your Tim "the Toolman" Taylor or Bob Villa, so you can keep using their service. Oh, and when I said I refused to pay that and please turn off my service, they transferred me to another department that handles cancels, I was on hold for 40 minutes, then a guy picked up and talked over me, raised his voice to me, and was yelling at me. I would rather be robbed and lose everything than have to deal with ADT and their customer service. There are other security providers out there; go with them. read more

No matter what I do I can't get a technician to come to the house. I have a low battery warning and other issues and finally talked to someone after being dropped. After answering questions and trying a few things, she agreed that I needed a battery and asked if they should send it or would I prefer to purchase it. I asked if I could get a technician to install it. She said that I could get a video. I've had other problems for a year that I've found ways to work around. No service. Ever. To be fair, their security monitoring service has always been excellent. The monitoring staff are always friendly and diligent. This has kept me from moving until now. Do NOT use ADT. We just got locked into a 3 year contract. They told us that fire was included in the quote and contract. We told them this was a requirement, as a family member had died in a house fire. The sales rep and district manager (for NH and MA) assured us it was and then installed the system and did not install smoke detectors. When I brought this to their attention, they denied any responsibility and said it was our fault and we never told them about the fire monitoring, which was a lie. We were very clear about that. Now they want to charge for a tech to come out and install the smokes and basically laughed at me and refused to waive the installation charge. Not a good look for this company. read more

Aside from ADT being very expensive, their customer service is abysmal. I've been on hold for your to fifty-six minutes just to be transferred and cut off. I have never been connected to a customer service rep without being on hold for a least twenty minutes. Time is money. The lack of a sufficient amount of customer service reps is indicative of the lack of respect they have for their customers. Moreover, the equipment is expensive, especially if you want to upgrade the technology. They have plenty of old equipment that they still use, so you need to be discriminating. ADT was in place when I bought my house so I continued with them, but when the control pad failed due to age, I insisted they replace it without charge because their monitors never even told them my system wasn't working. I was without a security system for several months. The new panel is old technology. Push buttons without any bells or whistles. In fact, a recent system problem left the technician puzzled when I told her it was lacking up and down arrows that she wanted me to use. She had difficulty assisting me because the panel was so old, yet it was my new replacement. I don't even like the app which has a long delay period every time it's opened. It's delay makes it inconvenient to use. I am locked into a two-year contract that expires in September. I cannot wait to end the relationship with ADT. I would not recommend this company to anyone who needs security service. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I met with their security specialist after paying the deposit of $99 plus tax. The specialist gave me a totally different contract term than the person I talked to on the phone so I decided not to go with ADT. When I called in to have my deposit refund, they just pass me between departments and no one will say he can help me. ADT secures out community center and I'm not sure what happened but after some time we started to get alarms at all times of the day even though its only suppose to come on between 11 pm and 5 am. Their phone system is probably the cheapest they can get as the call quality is terrible and we can't understand one another due to the poor audio quality. On Friday March 1st I had an appointment with ADT security from 12pm to 4pm. The day before they called to confirm the appointment. On Friday I waited all afternoon for the ADT tech but no one showed. I called at about 4:30 to see why no one came and they told me that they got tied up with another job and that the tech tried to call me. To be clear, no one called to tell me that they would not be coming that afternoon. I then set up another appointment for the next day from 1pm to 5pm. We made an appointment with the ADT technician with a 4 hour window for arrival. At the 4 hour we called and confirmed, but they still never showed up. They didn't seen to care that we arranged our day around the technician's arrival. I thought that with all of the competition out there for the home security market that ADT would step up their customer service game. It seems the opposite has happened. I am told that they use 3rd party technicians who may or may not be qualified or licensed for certain repairs. My gen 1 ring doorbell is a 1080p and has a way better picture to it. 6: There outdoor security cameras are magnetic. Magnets lose their charge when they heat up. So what happens to their cameras when they encounter this Texas heat? Guess that's why they all have that security strap to catch them. Zero stars if I could, faulty equipment! Cheap equipment, it kept falling off the doors and windows. We got broken into with ADT service. We had to set up our own equipment and we paid a handy man to do it as well. Wireless equipment doesn't work nor did the solar, you have to keep charging it, the cameras never ended up working or recording. Just a fail of a company. Then they have the audacity to keep charging us even after we moved from the house we got broken into twice. Honestly it's probably a sting operation they got going on. I have been a customer for years, I do not want to do auto pay any longer so i just send them the payment on the due date. They have informed me I am in breach of contract for this. And they will be sending my account to collection unless i pay the 400 for the equipment up front. I thought I had a 3 year contract, its a 5 year contract. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ADT ! I got ADT in November 2020, in December less than a month later my home was burglarized. The robbers tampered it's the equipment and all ADT did was send me an email at 1:16am telling me the equipment was tampered with. It took months to resolve the issue (it's now March 2021 and I'm still in contact with them) I terminated my lease on January 31, 2021 and prior to that I notified them that the equipment needed to be removed, they did nothing and after I turned in the keys with all the equipment inside they continued to bill me. After my situation ADT is still expecting me to pay $1600+ In termination fees. This company is a scam and I wish I would've read the reviews before. This is the worse home monitoring services. We had five sensors fall off within a few days. I have called several times for a technician to repair instead they send me glue. They also lied and deceived us regarding the monthly bill and the equipment. We received a bill for over $3700 for installation and equipment and charged 2xs the amount we were paying for monitoring. Because the sensors won't stayed connected we have yet to be able to arm the system. We are stuck in a five year contract with a couple with faulty equipment, poor customer services, and deceptive practices.
