Extortion as the Sub-Zero Parts Distributor in Marin. Very pleasant, on-time/early and professional, but highway robbery. Charged us $500 for two freezer drawer clasps and a water filter. Charged $200 to show up, $150 for labor, and another $150 for probably $25 in parts. They easily resolved the problem, were on site for maybe 30-40 minutes, but the $500 charge does not make sense. I will take the time to find somebody more cost reasonable next time. read more

Beware, staff at this company are unprofessional. My Thermador range has been giving me issues and I cannot use my oven. The tech came out and was not happy that he had to replace the part and he had no clue what he was doing. He had to read the instructions and told me it was his first time replacing that part for this type of range. The past month I had to turn off the power to my house and turn it back on to reset the range to use the oven. He replaced the part and the whole thing just won't work. I can't even turn off the power and turn it back on for it to work. He was honest about his experience and felt that Thermador was not a great product. I'll give him a 2 stars for honesty, but he had a bad attitude. After I reached out to Thermador, Advance Appliance Services fired me and said we will not work on your range. My oven no longer works even after I reset the power... So now what? I would recommend not using their service. I am now left with a $13,000.00 range that only has a working stove top. read more

We were having a problem with the Sub Zero freezer drawer on our fridge over freezer unit. We were getting horrible frost build up and the drawer was not closing all the way and sealing. Advance Appliance Services is the nearest authorized repair company. I was a bit apprehensive to use them based on their reviews. I called and a very nice woman answered the phone and scheduled an appointment for me. She was able to squeeze me in before our warranty expired - literally within a day or so of it expiring. Carlos called me the morning of our service appointment and was able to come early - which was great for me. Once he arrived he identified the issue in approx. 10 seconds, explained it to me and told me what to do if it happened again. I couldn't be more pleased with the service and process. I'm happy to have found Advance Appliance Services as we also have a Wolf range. read more

I'd give no stars if I could but it won't let me select none. Here's the story: we called for service on our Wolf Range to fix three burners on a six burner range. The repairman charged us an arm and leg to look at the issue and acted like we were idiots, didn't fix a thing. A few months later and we have the same issue occurring since he failed to fix it. We called AAS to come back to the house and they refused, apparently because my wife asked him to look at our refrigerator, which he did for literally a minute and attempted to charge us for another service "minimum" for looking at the fridge. He had the audacity to make a note that we refused to pay for servicing the refrigerator! These guys are seriously crooks. Unless you like rude repair people who will rob you blind, suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Wow, I am a very satisfied customer! The experience was excellent from start to finish. Both Dispatch and the Technician went above and beyond in providing information about best care practices for our appliances (even ones not involved in our service call). I recommend highly and will definitely use them in the future. If you want more details, our freezer stopped working on a Saturday. We left a voicemail (they're closed on weekends) and received a call back early Monday morning. Service was scheduled for 1 week later. Meanwhile, Adriana cautioned me about ordering replacement filters online - though they say they're authorized, they can damage the filtration system! So she told me where to get the right filters from. She also said the tech could replace the filter for us, and/or teach me how to, which he did. The day before, they called to give me a 1-hour service window. I got a text when the tech was en route with his location so I could track his progress. Carlos arrived early, was very polite and professional, and got the job done very quickly, also explaining what the simple problem was and talking us through basic standard maintenance. We were afraid we would have to call in an electrician but it turned out to be a simple fix which he found within 2 minutes of arriving, so the price was very reasonable and much better than we feared. Before leaving, Carlos also showed me how to clean the dishwasher filter! Our appliances are in much better shape when Carlos left than when he arrived. And he taught us how to take care of the appliances on our own, rather than trying to route me.back to them to get more business. In the past they've done repair work on my older sub zero fridge/freezer to my satisfaction. And, except for today's experience, I would rate them 5 stars. Unfortunately today I was fired as a client. I was told the repairman did not want to service the account because I was a client who could not be satisfied. The dispute? I asked the repairman why, a 30 year old $7 part, a water extension line, wasn't replaced last year when he replaced the ice-maker ($611.) I was told that as it only sometimes fails, he doesn't carry it in his truck. Later in the day, when I tried to schedule the repair, the office manager told me that I was fired as a client. Fortunately I was not charged the $89 trip charge for the diagnosis. But now I have to find another repair service. read more

I contacted AAS only because BOSCH gave me their contact to schedule an in-warranty appointment for my brand new dishwasher. I cannot rate their price, but I can absolutely rate 0 their customer service and professionally. After two weeks elapsed since the first appointment date was set, and then postponed, I was told by Adriana that "because of where my house is located, the technician would only come when he gets out in the morning or on his way back home in the evening": meaning 7:30am or 6-7pm (ANY DAY OR ANY WEEK), which cannot work with my schedule ever. Adriana (arrogantly) "suggested" to call another BOSCH authorized service because they won't anytime work around any other schedule for me. Just recontacted BOSCH and waiting to be contacted by a serious company that values prospect and present customers. read more

Not reliable. Took a long time just to get an appointment to fix my oven. They took $90 to come diagnose the problem which they could never figure out because they didn't have the dolley to look behind the oven. Why would they send technicians without the possible tools needed to look behind an oven. So, they said I would need to reschedule. I call to reschedule and they tell me that because my husband attempted to fix the problem and "tampered with the oven", they can't fix it. It seems to me that they never really wanted to fix the oven in the first place! When I initially called to make an appointment, in an abrupt and rude way, the lady on the phone told me that the oven was too old to have the parts to fix the oven. So, I called the oven manufacturer and they did have the parts for my model number. They don't want business. Not professional. Will not call again. read more

I would recommend these people to every one who has high end appliances. Adriana who answers the phone is a friendly and knowledgable voice who makes appointments as soon as possible. They showed up on time and ready to go. The part or I should say glass was not available to him, he told me the price and asked if I wanted him to order it. I agreed to the price and he ordered the glass. I didn't have to call about the glass, they called as soon as it came in, I appreciate this because I didn't have to follow up. The next day they scheduled an appointment and the repair person came installed it quickly and efficiently. He tested it, I paid him and he was gone. **I read some of the other reviews and they complained about this, I believe this is a quality and not something to get mad about, the price never changed, and if he can do it quick it only means he's good at what he does. I am very busy and I appreciated this quality about them, it should not be condemned. In the future I will only use them, they are good, fast, and reputable. I also like they cleaned up and I never saw any hint they were there. It is hard to find a good company with all qualities these people have. Our dishwasher would not pump out the water and was only 14 months old. We contacted a company that told us the memory board was out and and I needed a new dishwasher - WHAT?! I called Bosche and they sent over Luis from Advance Appliance Service. In the first 5 minutes he determined the dishwasher was fine and just had a clog. He found a plastic "something" in the line and the dishwasher began to drain. Then he went over troubleshooting for the future and showed me how to clean the filter with vinegar. He was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. It was a great way to start the week with top notch customer service and a working dishwasher. read more

Contacted this business for dishwasher service. Asked what their fee was and was given an agreed upon amount. Service technician spent four minutes solving problem that did not need any new parts. Final bill was 239% higher (with no parts purchased) than stated fee. Billed amount worked out to $1,500.00 per hour. Expected it to be communicated up front that a labor charge additional to the agreed upon charge for four minutes of work would cost $125.00. Scary-expensive service. One burner of wolf stove needed a replacement igniter -- a tiny, inexpensive part -- technician claimed it couldn't be replaced on its own, and instead the entire two-burner assembly had to be replaced. This business charges an $80 visit fee and the labor for the 15-20 minute job was $185, plus the $230 part. Later learned that the little igniter COULD in fact be replaced, hence my first yelp post. Owner replaced a valve core (that little valve on a bike inner tube that has to be partially unscrewed to put air in the tire) in my SubZero. He explained that the valve core was probably leaking and freon replacement was necessary. Valve-no charge (Thanks), freon-$175, labor $185, trip charge???$79.95 (TRIP CHARGE!?). TOTAL $464.82. When I questioned the cost of the 25 minutes he had spent fixing the fridge, he informed me that he didn't charge by time spent, but rather by "FLAT FEE". You can't get his flat fee rate until he determines what is wrong, so you are stuck. Most companies that I have dealt with that charge a "trip charge" credit that charge against the total time spent. I purchased a Bosch dishwasher and had problems with it cutting out intermittently. Bosch referred me to Advance Appliance, and when they came out they discovered it was the cord that was defective. Bosch did not supply a cord with the machine, so they could have charged me for the visit, since it was not covered on the warranty. However they didn't so I was very pleased. read more

In the area on vacation, while staying/checking on a friends home in the Napa area we realized their Sub zero wasn't working. Not being from the area we weren't sure who to call but were referred to this company by the neighbor. The tech showed up on time, first surprise, and explained the problem. Giving us the option to fix or not. After talking to the home owners, we agreed to the repairs and the estimate. The problem was fixed very quickly and the labor fees ended up less than the quote, second surprise. I would recommend them in the area, very friendly and professional. Owner replaced Sub Zero fridge evaporator & filter. Cost was $1,109.56 of which $495.00 was labor. This is a second home for my family, so I had my 20 year old son drive the 2.5 hours to meet them at the house. Due to the long drive, etc. we were kind of stuck, so reluctantly agreed to the repair on the phone while my son was at the home. When my son gave me the invoice later that night, the one thing that really stood out was the $495.00 for 1.5 hours of work? So I decided to call and ask for an explanation. The only explanation I received was that I agreed to it the day prior on phone so nothing they can do to reduce the labor cost. I was also told that the labor tech is so good that what took him 1.5 hours would probably take other techs 4 - 5 hours. Do they think that this is a logical explanation? I should have known there was a problem with this company when they told me that they require either cash or check only. I would not recommend this company to even my worst enemies! read more
