The employee the first day I went (A young short black guy) refused to install new windshield wipers onto my car. There was absolutely no other customers in that store except me. A minute after I walked in the manager (Another black guy who was probably in his 40s) who is the only other worker in the store immediately says he's going to take his 30 minute break. He goes to the back. I asked the guy at the register to install my wipers that I was going to buy from the store, and he says something along the lines of "I can't do it because my manager is on break and nobody else will be in here to watch the store." There clearly wasn't any customers there during their shift and the manager decides to take his 30 minute break the second someone comes in asking for something? He eventually says he'll do it really quickly. He then says "hold on I need to check something." He walks outside, and says "it's raining I can't do it" IT WAS NOT RAINING AT ALL! There was not a drop of rain in the sky, yes it was cloudy, BUT THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN NO QUESTION ABOUT IT! Then he tells me HE CANT DO IT BECAUSE HE'LL GET SICK IF HE GOES OUTSIDE! The manager comes back up and says the same thing they can't do it because it's raining outside even though it wasn't. Then the manager told me I could do it myself. I responded by saying "oh no I don't work here" and then I walked out. BUT IF THEYRE SAYING I COULD DO IT THEN SURELY THEY CAN TOO! I can only assume they only work closing shift just to watch the store and that they don't actually know how to do anything so when someone comes in needing something done when they're there they're forced to come up with some ridiculous excuse on why they can't do it to avoid doing their jobs. HOWEVER, I did come in the day after and this older guy was able to put on my wipers and install a new battery in my car. He was super helpful and friendly! If you want something actually done, don't go in the store when those two lazy and incompetent workers are there. read more

I purchased three spark plugs at the Advance Auto Parts location at 3420 W. Hillsborough. When I tried to return them at the 6546 N. State Road 7 location, the sales agent, Alex, refused the return even though the pictures and information showed that the return should have been handled properly. What bothered me most was not only the refusal, but the way I was treated. Alex came across as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Instead of taking time to review the situation or explain the policy respectfully, he quickly brushed me off and simply moved on to the next customer. Customer service should still matter. Customers are the reason stores stay in business, and they should be treated with respect, not talked down to or ignored. Based on this experience, I will be taking my business to other auto parts stores in the future. August 24, 2026 I am extremely disappointed with the customer service at this Advance Auto Parts location. Once again, I tried to work with the employees at the counter, and unfortunately, I found their attitude to be rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily condescending. I have worked in and around the automotive industry for most of my life, so I understand that employees may sometimes know more about a particular product or system than the customer. However, knowledge should never be used as an excuse to talk down to someone or make them feel as though their questions or needs do not matter. What bothered me most was the feeling that the employees simply did not care about helping me. Customer service begins with respect. A customer should be listened to, treated courteously, and given an honest effort to solve the problem. Maybe I come from an older generation, but I was taught that you treat customers with dignity whether they are spending $5 or $500. You don't act superior to them, dismiss their experience, or make them feel unwelcome. After repeatedly experiencing this attitude at this location, I have decided that I will take my automotive business elsewhere. I have spent many years buying automotive parts and working on vehicles, and there are simply too many other businesses that appreciate their customers. I hope management takes this criticism seriously. Respect should be priority number one, and good customer service should follow right behind it. The way you treat people eventually determines whether they come back--and in my case, I will not. read more

Sunday night and looking for a brake light switch. I called Advanced Auto and the young man that answered was extremely helpful. He looked up the part I needed and said there was 1 left in stock. Told him I was on my way to pick it up. When I got to the store he apologized for not having it ready. Seriously?? He was busy and did not have to get it at that moment. I'm not sure why there are such bad reviews here. I'm sure they're honest, but that wasn't the case for me. Today I had a wonderful experience with one of the workers. He helped me find the right lightbulb for my car. I always come to this place whenever I have any car issues and they always lead me in the right path, and take great care of me. Also, if you are having a battery issue and you need some help, they will install the battery free of charge as long as you buy it from the location. Terrible service. Even worse that it came from the store manager. I tried returning a product the very next week after purchase, i didn't need to use the product, and the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. Had a broke down car literally in the mini mall next door and since there apple pay wasn't working I needed to grab my wallet from my car and he would not wait 5 min. Worst auto parts store I've ever been to. Waited an hour to get a battery put in my car while all the coworkers hung out in the back. The whole store smelled like weed so I imagine they were back their smoking. I was literally in and out within five minutes and had my battery installed and very very happy... I only gave them one star because -10 wasn't available. I went into this store and found two of the laziest so-called sales people I have ever seen. I asked if they install wiper blades and Mr unfriendly said yes. I asked for the best wiper blade for my car. After fooling with the computer mr unfriendly said $55.00. I asked if it would be possible to see them, he walked over and pointed with all the strength he could muster and pointed at some blade that he actually knocked off the hanger. I decided not to bother them anymore and left. Meanwhile the other lazy was sitting on his butt looking at his phone. If this was my business they would be out looking for another job!
