I was there picking up windshield wipers today and the cashier that "helped" me whose name was Zack just seemed very dismissive and unprofessional. He didn't even offer to help me put my wipers on my windshield. He should know if you're working customer service jobs you must be willing to go out of the way and the extra mile to help people out. Store had an on-line bundle deal for oil and oil filter (good price). I could not buy it from my local store b/c the filter was out of stock. So I ordered from the Clifton Park store (10 miles further). Went to pick the oil and filter up but they tried to give me a substitute filter ($8 filter vs $15 filter). I pointed to my receipt to show what filter was bought and after checking stock, clerk just said store didn't have it and that if he pulled the items, he would have tried to contact me. Did me no good to cancel order - now would have to go to another store, so I accepted the filter. read more

My wife's car needed a new battery so I stopped by here to get a replacement. I have never come here before for batteries but did buy one at their other store and was satisfied with their service. They did a free diagnostic of our old battery first and confirmed it was toast. Then, they rolled out their tool car and swapped it out while we waited in the car. It took about 10 minutes, but had our terminals not been so corroded it likely would have gone faster. They left a screwdriver under the hood, which was so badly rusted and corroded that I just threw it out when I found it a week later. Hope they got a new one! The price was fair (maybe even good... Went in looking for a couple simple things. There were two women working at the time and neither one was willing to lift a finger to assist us. Left and went straight to the Autozone which is visible from their parking lot. Save yourself the trouble and go to Autozone instead. Useless. read more

Terrible customer service. Bought a battery with a three year warranty they wouldn't replace it after one year. Their tester wasn't working so they sent me to auto zone to get it tested. They said it was dead. Went back now they say they have to try to charge it! Really?!? Last time I'll be shopping there. read more

Advanced Auto is a pretty solid consumer auto parts store. Good- Generally helpful although only very partially knowledgeable staff. Clean. Pretty decent stock of useful parts, they had brakes in stock for my beater Subaru. Cons- Prices can be way up or down, use smartphone apps to check versus online so you don't get gouged. read more

Been going jere for 15 years and the service has decided amazingly in the last two. Last trip was to drpp off a battery to charhe and get cleaning supplies. Incredible the rudeness. Down rigjt mean n nasty. Anyway go to Walmart for your cleaning supplies, oil, etc. The prices are way better and the service is better as no service at all is an improvement to the service at Advance. read more

This location of AAP has been consistently great on the several visits I have made here. They are friendly, helpful, and quick. I have had 2 batteries (different cars)changed here over the past few years with no issues. Note that the AAP location in Latham is not allowed to install batteries due to town restrictions on doing work in parking lots (no, this is not a joke). So, when I purchased my first battery online for pick-up there I was informed that they could not do the install, but if I took it up to CP they could put it in. Since I did not feel like doing it myself, I brought it up per their instructions. At the CP location they said they normally only do batteries purchased there, but did the install for me anyway. Based on that experience guess where I went when my wife needed a new battery for her car? I suggest using order online and instore pick-up combined with discount codes when shopping at AAP for the best deals. read more

I've been in this store many times before. They have always been super nice. One guy even installed my new wiper blades for me. Granted, one of them flew off on the highway in the rain, but he tried. Today I went in to get a taillight bulb. First off - I said a nice hello to Brandy behind the counter. Nothing. I needed a taillight bulb. I had looked online and I knew what it looked like. She brought back a pack of bulbs that looked different. They were little LED bulbs and I needed a normal bulb. I said something about it, but Brandy knew it was the right bulb. I went out and looked again online and it's the wrong bulb. So, I went back inside to exchange. She said - that's a blinker bulb. You should have said blinker bulb. Meanwhile, it's the EXACT SAME bulb. The blinker bulb is not different, and she had sold me the wrong one. The guy in line behind me looked it up on his phone and it's the SAME bulb. Brandy was SUPER pissed at me. I said - I'm sure it's my fault and exchanged the bulb. So, not thrilled with the really nasty customer service. I won't be back. I'll just go to a different store. But Brandy should look for work outside of the customer service arena. Just a suggestion. read more

Shout out to Ryan and Justin.. These guys were so nice! They had the part we needed (belt tensioner...and then a new belt), and all the tools that we needed to swap out the old one. As we were fixing it in the parking lot they even brought out a little portable light so we could see what we were doing. Super helpful!! read more

The store was the only one in the area that had the carburetor I needed. When I got it home and opened the box, I found that someone had been in it and took some parts out of the bag of accessories. Hoping they are nothing critical. Nevertheless, any store that allows employees to do this is not one I want to work with. Never again. read more

I've had very mixed experiences at this store. The ample amount of products they offer is outstanding and I love all of the choices. However, the workers there seem to have no drive to help their customers. Unless they know exactly what you're talking about it seems like they're not much of a help. Definitely more of a place to go when you definitely know what you're going in for. I am obligated however to say how excellent their hands on work on cars is. read more

I went to the store a couple of times at the beginning of July (2017) and I received the best service from their Store Manager, Rhonda. I was really concerned about my check engine light. She had multiple suggestions and was so very knowledgeable, friendly and understanding. My problem was solved. Rhonda has made me a lifetime patron!!!! read more
