She directed me down the incorrect isle and then caught an attitude with me when she realized that she sent me down the wrong isle. I did not see what I was looking for, I mentioned to her that the website indicated that this item was in stock at this location on Lyons Avenue. She rolled her eyes at me and then in a nasty tone told me that the item was probably in the back, but she wasn't going back there to look for it. The manager of this location as a progressive form of discipline should give her a verbal and/or letter of reprimand placed in her personal file. Although they only had one in stock, the sales guy said he could have the other option available for me within an hour from their other location. They're prices aren't the lowest, but there's definitely a level of expertise you'll find here that's sorely lacking at too many auto parts retail chains. One time I needed help locating the correct and changing my windshield wipers. The gentleman behind the counter helped me find the right pair, assisted me at the register, and changed the wipers for me - all while showing me how easy it is to do it myself next time. Another recent time, I needed help replacing a dying key fob battery and an employee helped me from start to finish. I really appreciated his patience and willingness because I know the dealership itself would not have gone above or beyond (and they would not have held back overcharging me). If you're ever in the area and need stop by, do not hesitate! Although it's situated on a busy, main street (Springfield Avenue), parking spaces are available on the side of the building as soon as you pull in.

Valley Auto Parts is one of the best locally owned supply stores I can imagine. The last time I stopped in, I was looking for a coolant tee hose connector of a specific size. With just a passing glance at the broken piece in my hand, the guy behind the counter (the owner?) swooped to a pegboard on the wall and plucked out the exact replacement part I was looking for. Amazingly, it was a part I had spent considerable time looking online at the largest e-retailer and the other large online auction site, and while I did find it there, too, I preferred the immediacy of buying it in a bricks-and-mortar store and at a comparable price as at the supposed discount sites. Coolant hoses, sold by the foot and custom-cut, were also much more convenient and economical to buy locally. I'll definitely be back the next time my car needs regular maintenance, repairs or a wash and wax!
