We were do for a new car for wifey. She had been driving our VW Alltrack for some time now, and as it was the family road trip car, it had close to 100k miles. We found that a low mileage Allroad was offered at Shawnee Mission Audi. Buying a car has always been a bit of a hassle. There's the test drive to do first, and then the negotiation and then the paperwork. None of it is a good time, and in our past, found that it takes a full fricking day to buy something. We hate that. Or at least, I do. We went on a test drive and liked the car, so we agreed to the purchase. It took very little time to complete the paperwork, and all the licensing and registration was completed my them, making the transfer relatively easy. I'd buy a car from them again. I didn't have to fight or wait for management to approve pricing. (no, that doesn't mean we paid more, it means the cost was reasonable for the vehicle and there wasn't a lot of to and fro that needed to happen.). I'm an adjuster and have an idea of the values. We were pleased with the pricing. They did the DMV stuff for us, and as it's a luxury car, I'd expect that. But there was no hassle in getting that done. It was a good experience, and I'd do it again. We'll see about the service dept when it comes time for an oil change. read more

I have seen the other reviews about how badly this dealership has gone down hill, but was still cough off guard by how much. I sent in a simple inquiry with several questions about a specific car. Not only did the response I got back not have a single answer to any of my questions they were wanting to know what i was going to do for them. Michelle is my service advisor, and she always makes sure I am well taken care of whenever I come in, whether or not with an appointment. Something has happened at this dealership over the last 6 months and it has gone way downhill fast. Even when they were busy, I could always reach out to one of the advisors and they'd find a way to get me in. Most of those long time employees are gone (even though their names are still available to schedule with online, months after they left). 6 1/2 weeks wait for a minor service is absolutely absurd. It used to be no more than a week (usually a couple days at most) as recent as May. What happened??? Did all of the technicians quit for some reason too?? Sadly the excellent level of service my wife and I grew to expect is long gone. Now it feels like when I used to take my Toyota in for service - nobody cares and customers are just numbers. Pretty sad. Plus it's not just in service where employees are leaving en masse, but in sales and finance too. All of them people who cared and did a great job every time. Worst German dealer experiences I've had in my last 12 acquisitions. First experience was in August 2018 when I was about to head overseas for 9 months; dealt with Brandon Wagner, who let me test drive a SQ5, which I was interested in factory ordering while I was out of the country. I was very candid and let him know the fact that I was approximately a year out from returning, but wanted to build a local relationship so I wouldn't sound like a lunatic trying to order a car from him via email from another country. He never responded to another email. Deployment didn't end up happening, so my next transaction (2018 SQ5) took place at KC Audi. Fast forward to May 2019, and I've become a repeat KC Audi customer, but Shawnee Mission gets a very hard to find RS3 in stock before most nationwide dealers. I contacted them over the phone and got linked up with Lauren Macdonald, who was candid and upfront. I stop in with the order guide for the RS3 that I have from KC Audi (which she is aware of, because my conversation with her was as upfront as this review), and when it comes time for numbers, the nonsense began. They offered an absolute lowball trade in on my 2019 S4, which they declined to even grab my keys to look at in the parking lot. 15% less than what KC Audi had, and had the audacity to blame it on the fact that Audi now sells the RS5 SB, which is in a completely different class and shares the amazing attributes of 4 doors and 4 wheels. I shook her hand and walked. I will absolutely not step into this place again. I haven't seen behavior like this at any VW or Audi dealer nationwide, having purchased everywhere from Richmond VA, Springfield MO, Kansas City MO, and Phoenix AZ. read more

The team we dealt with at Audi Shawnee Mission consisted of a sales member Zee, a billing specialist Laura, and two finance managers Taz and Nathan. Not only was the original purchase rushed because one of the finance managers "had to get to a movie," they also rolled the equity of our trade-in into the new purchase (defying our requests for a payout), and then proceeded to over charge us $3,000+ in sales tax...not exactly a line item one would think necessary to negotiate in a transaction... This mistake was luckily caught by KDOR, and now the Audi Shawnee Mission group is requiring us to jump through numerous hoops in order to receive our refund for their mistake. Unless you're planning to bring legal counsel with you on your trip to Audi Shawnee Mission, I'd strongly suggest finding another dealership to work with. read more

This dealerships service center literally makes me want to get rid of my Audi and never purchase one again...and that's a sad reality seeing that I LOVE my A5. Need an oil change? You better anticipate it coming and book your basic servicing over a MONTH in advance. Otherwise it takes a lifetime for them to get you in for the most standard services. I tried again after having a poor service experience in November. I now believe poor communication and follow-through are the hallmarks of this business. I had to make three calls to Teresa, their service manager, to get an appointment to fix an issue with a tire I bought from them in November. Even though the tire was under warranty, I was charged $27. I was actually quoted $37 on site and since I was already there, I agreed. Ended up paying $27 because they couldn't get the $37 on the computer when I checked out. Fifteen minutes to check in, even though I had an appointment (going over all the information I went over with Teresa, correcting the same errors in the account present previously that were promised to be updated). Lots of difficulty both times I've been there to be able to read what I am signing (they always want to give you just the signature area on a phone or Ipad). Teresa asked to meet me while I was there, but when I asked, I was told she would come to the waiting area, which never happened. Was quoted an hour to change the tire. After 80 minutes of no contact, I went back to the desk for an update and my car was ready. Fifteen minutes to check out and while I was waiting I hear another customer call to check on her tire service and ask "if the car was safe to drive." This doesn't give you much faith in their product! I have a new tire that I was told doesn't have a warranty now, not sure why, but didn't feel like fighting it. I drove for ten minutes and then the alert comes on saying that something is wrong with that tire's pressure. I pulled over; it didn't look flat. I called back and was told I could "take care of it myself and take it anywhere to have the tire checked or bring it back" and he would look at it. I brought it back and doubt it was "checked" as was promised because he drove it around the back and brought it out in about 90 seconds. I will never go back and actually wish I didn't have this car, since I don't trust Audi at all at this point. read more

I would especially like to single out the Service Staff. I haven't had much experience with Sales at Audi Shawnee Mission, but the Service Staff are the best! They are always polite, helpful and cordial. They go out of their way to assist. If its an expensive repair, they do their best to try to mitigate the cost, whatever in their power. They always offer to make it easy for me, knowing my crazy schedule. They have even told me honestly when I do or don't need a repair or servicing. Drew Allio is my Service Manager and doesn't matter when it is, I can message him or call him and he always helps me out. I brought in my 2017 Audi Q5 to have the glass repaired on the driver's side mirror because I had cracked it backing out of the garage. The quote came back at $2,000. Shocking. I took it to Classic Collision and they repaired it for $260 using AUDI PARTS. I was also charged $100 by Audi Shawnee Mission to simply give me the quote on the parts and work. I will NEVER buy another car there or recommend them to anyone. read more

SERVICE SCAM. Was told by Audi I had to take my car to them for my 35,000 mile service. We dropped my car off at 9:30 am and was told it was probably going to take until 4-5 pm because of how extensive it would be. However they called at 11:30 saying it was ready to be picked up and good to go. That was only 2 hours however I had a labor charge of $572 that's over $290 per hour of labor. My husband and I both have our masters and we don't even make that much an hour. On top of that my car wasn't even cleaned on the inside or vacuumed. Something my little brothers Kia dealership does for him on his services. There was no specific numbers given on what my tire pressure was at, or my hinges etc. Just pay $820 for 2 hours. Do yourself a favor and find an alternative place for service who values their customers time and money. This was a rip off and we will not be supporting this branch any longer. We were in for a new Audi and we will be going with BMW or P UPDATED: Adding stars for how kind the manager was and the issue was resolved easily and kindly. Thank you! read more

My fiance and I have had one big headache over our 2008 Audi A4 that we purchased in April of 2016. The car began to have issues with oil and an engine light in October of 2017. Long story short, we took it in to the dealership and by the time everything was said and done 3 months later we ended up paying $4,100 for a replacement engine, new turbo, vacuum pump and a few other random parts that had popped up. You can imagine our delight... Once we FINALLY got our replacement engine with a 90 day warranty on it, within the first 45 days the minimum oil light began to pop on again. So what did we do....we took it back to the dealership to see what was wrong. After about 20 minutes with the car they decided they, "had no idea what was wrong", and simply TOPPED IT OFF with oil and sent us on our way in April(still under the 90 day warranty). Fast forward to to present day and now we are being told that even with all the work we have had done on the Audi its going to cost around $1,500 to repair this replacement engine out of pocket. If they had just found the issues in the first place in April, it would have saved us a ton of money and we would have been able to have our car after almost half a years worth of issues finally in correct working order. I also contacted the general manager John Coats directly asking for options on what could be done. After not receiving a response for over a week and then calling and having another week go by I still haven't received any communication from him. We have been in the shop so frequently they know us on a first name basis, I had hoped that there would have been better service at this point. There have been some helpful people at the dealership from time to time, but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. I definitely would not recommend bringing any of your repairs here if you have other alternatives. it has cost us so much money and there has been no leeway to any of the monetary amounts that it has left us with a terrible taste in our mouth. read more

This place is doing it right. But before I get to that part of the review, I feel it is important to give a nod to Audi customers... We are not normal! We do a lot of research, blogging, hanging out in the online forums... We are very proud of the brand, and the engineering / craftsmanship that goes into our vehicle. We want to know how everything works, and the purpose for every part of the package. Audis have a lot of well-thought-out features, and so our bond with the car far extends the typical "just a way to get from point A to point B." Audi owners know that their vehicle needs to be maintained according to a prescriptive schedule to ensure a long and healthy driving experience. And what an experience it is! I recently purchased a used Q7 from a local dealer. I got a great deal on this beauty. It had 105,000 miles on it when I drove it off the lot - so I knew it would be due for some time in the shop. I put new rubber on the wheels and had the oil changed immediately. When the check engine light came on, I knew that I had to get my baby into the shop ASAP. I had driven by Audi Shawnee Mission a few times before they opened - so I was excited to find out if this convenient location would become the keepers of my Q7's ongoing health. I am very pleased to say that we are off to a great start! The weekend before their first official day of business, I called to talk about bringing it in. I believe I spoke to the GM, who explained that they weren't open yet - but asked if I would like to go ahead and make an appointment for Monday. I thought this was a very service-oriented approach. He assured me that if the check engine light wasn't flashing, it would be safe to drive it in to the shop. Then I called in on Sunday and spoke with Melodie in service. I told her I was surprised they answered the phone. She said that a customer's car had broken down over the weekend, and they were from out of town. She was able to come in on her day off, and convince a tech to come in as well. I was so impressed by that - I made the appointment and came in Monday morning to drop off my car. When I arrived, they were ready for me. I got checked in, and they shuttled me to work. What a nice touch! Melodie kept me posted throughout the day. They needed to order a part, so the car was ready the following day. When I picked up the car, it had been nicely-washed! It's running great now, and I know that I'll be back for oil changes and any other maintenance. I want to mention that Melodie was really patient with me. I had a lot of questions, and was taking on that role of the well-informed customer who needs to know all of the details. I would give this place another star if I could. Service is so important, and Audi Shawnee Mission represents "the rings" like champions. They service all makes and models - so I'm sure they'll be taking care of my wife's Prius, too. I know that a new business needs to really shine from the starting gates. I hope to see continued happy customers giving great reviews on this business. They seem to have their hearts in the right place. I will continue to update my experiences with them. In the meantime, wish me many miles of reliable motoring!! read more

Also the building is so beautiful and other service areas provide excellent service too. I also worked with Seth in coordinating after market items and he made sure everything was taken care of accurately and delivered on time. He kept me updated on the status at all times and gave me his cell in case I had any questions. Terrible service department. I have a Q7 diesel and the EGR system went out at 105,000 miles. I have an extended warranty on the car that is still valid and the dealer refuses to even contact the warranty company. They claim that the extended warranties do not cover expendable components and general wear and tear. Last time I checked, an exhaust gas recirculation system isn't an expendable component! That's complete bull and a sorry excuse to make money off of the customer. I love Audi but I can't stand this dealership. read more

They've had my new vehicle in for warranty repairs going on 2 weeks now and they still can't give me any estimation whatsoever on when the repairs will be completed.
