It didn't hurt so much to pay the bill after that. It was probable his bartending experience gave him that skill.

Updating my original 1 star review to 4 stars…read more My original review came after a frustrating experience involving the engine recall on my 2023 Nissan Rogue, confusion surrounding the warranty coverage, and ongoing issues with my infotainment system and a dashboard rattle that had existed for years. To make matters worse, multiple Nissan dealerships in California, Oregon, and Virginia either couldn't fix the problems or simply dismissed them by saying, "they all do that." After my concerns were escalated, Jim Wise, Director of Fixed Operations at Southern Team Nissan, personally got involved. He took the time to review the situation, listened to my concerns, and worked to make things right. That level of involvement was appreciated, especially after spending years trying to get these issues addressed without success. Southern Team Nissan updated the software in my infotainment system and removed portions of the upper dashboard to diagnose and address the rattle. So far, the results have been positive. The backup camera and stereo are functioning properly, and the dashboard rattle that had been driving me crazy appears to be gone. Time will tell, but the vehicle is performing the way it should right now. I also appreciate that Southern Team Nissan did not charge me diagnostic fees or repair costs for addressing these concerns. While I still believe the original situation could have been handled much better, I think it's important to recognize when someone takes ownership of a problem and genuinely tries to resolve it. Throughout all of this, my Rogue itself has otherwise been a reliable vehicle. My frustrations were never really about the vehicle as much as they were about getting longstanding concerns taken seriously and receiving consistent information. In the end, Jim Wise and the team at Southern Team Nissan succeeded where several other Nissan dealerships had fallen short. Because of that, I'm updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars. The original experience was not deserving of 5 stars, but the effort, professionalism, and willingness to make things right absolutely deserve recognition.

I got a statement on 7/27/2026 stating I had a $30 balance on the account because of interest charged. When I inquired with the credit card company, I was told it was on "promotional balances" and that the tires I bought must not be considered a promotional balance. What a scam! I paid the $30 and closed my account. I will never deal with Discount Tire again because of this. That's just shady. It's really a shame because I like the tires and the service was good, but I won't get fooled again.

So I started looking for an exit sign with a gas station to get off and fill my tank there. Not long after, I saw an exit sign for different establishments and among them was this Shell Gas Station on Hershberger Rd in NW Roanoke. So I didn't think it twice but put on my right turn blinking lights and got off on the next exit. This Shell Station I found out later is a 24-hour service station offering various fuel types, including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium, alongside a convenience store, Nishi Food Mart 6, and a car wash. It is conveniently located for travelers and provides essential amenities such as Tire Air, Ice, Food Mart, Restrooms, ATM, Virginia Lottery, as well as being able to pay with your Shell app and take advantage of the Shell Fuel Rewards Program for members, thus saving money on your gas fill ups. You were also able purchase some items on sale at great value. After I filled the tank of my Lexus, I went inside the small convenience store to see what they had to offer and document it for this review. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and all the items it has to offer its customers. I went over to a friendly gentleman behind the counter and asked for a copy of my receipt for pump number 6. He kindly printed and gave it to me. Then I walked around amazed at all the merchandise they were able to fit in that small space, many of the items we're used to seeing in convenience stores, as well as beer & wines, Frozen Fantas, cigarettes, and gambling machines, among other things. I was so happy to have found this place right when I needed it most to fill my car's tank with gas, but others, either traveling or commuting to or from work, can also find it very convenient for many other needs or wants, and I highly recommend it.

I would say this is a good place to go if you're a Shell member, just be aware of your surroundings as there were some guys hanging out in front and one was acting a little erratically before he just ran out into Hershberger Road without waiting for the light to change or anything. Fortunately he didn't get hit by a car, but that's a pretty busy road!

I bought a heater core in April of this year, put it in myself in May. Installed according to mfg instructions including radiator flush and according to Ford dealership mechanic's manual. It has a 1 year warranty, but Advance would not honor it for having a mechanic replace it again. I even asked to have a mechanic of their choosing give a professional opinion as to whether he thought it was install error or defective part. They would not agree to that either. I called the BBB and placed a complaint there. I finally received a call from the VP's office saying they were going to do the right thing and take care of me. "We will call you tomorrow." Well, I have had several tomorrows and still no phone call. I drive300+ miles per day and have been freezing my butt of in the below freezing temps waiting on tomorrow to come. Needless to say, I took initiative AGAIN to replace the heater core; another 6 1/2 hour project. And when I got the old core out, it was draining from the bottom thus, a manufacturer's defect. Thanks Advance Auto for offering a warranty that you will not honor and that could have potentially cost me $1200+ for a $400 job all because the product was defective and Advance would not call back to "take care of me" as the said they would. My opinion is-If it is a small inexpensive non-electric part that can be easily accessed and replaced and you don't mind throwing your money away if it does not work, THEN buy it from Advance Auto. Otherwise, go to NAPA or a dealership. In this case if I had paid just $15 more, I could have had a superior part with a much better warranty.
