I was helped by a dashing young gentleman, Damien. We chatted for a bit about our first jobs, what we liked about work and what we didn't. I was trying really hard to be in and out of there, didn't want to miss dance practice! I could tell that he is an expert at handling frustrated people. Paying for vehicle repairs is often a serious stress point. He was able to control the tempo of the conversation in an empathetic way and bring us down to a speed of calm. It didn't hurt so much to pay the bill after that. It was probable his bartending experience gave him that skill. read more

Made an appointment for tire rotation and was waiting at the Front Desk for over ten minutes with no one assisting me. I go to the service area and ask for help and the guy was rude and was not helpful at all. Very disappointed. read more

While on our trip home my tire began to leak. Upon closer examination all four tires needed to be replaced in order to safely return home. The team at the Firestone in Roanoke swiftly check their inventory and secured me an appointment for the same day. While it took about 3 hours to complete given the last minute nature of my needs I am supremely pleased with the service I received. read more

Great staff, great service! I had the travel experience from hell this past weekend (I won't go into all the gory details), and these guys were the best for getting me on the road so I could get home on Monday. Special kudos to Pete, whose Customer Service went above and beyond. They had of the tire that I needed at their central location, and they sent some one To get it on Monday morning (after I had called and said that I would be over, then went to their location). They took my tire with the rim, and said that they would call me back. I needed to be out of my hotel by noon, and they were ready for me to bring my car back within one and a half hours. I have been a customer for several years, and the manager, Scott, has always taken care of things with competitive prices and great customer service. Recently I had a 3 inch nail in my tire (6 month old tire)....I was really hoping I wouldn't have to replace it...and Scott and his team were very accommodating, professional, and diligent. They pulled it out, patched it up, and something that could have cost me $300+ cost me only $19. They have earned not only my repeat business continually...but my trust...which is hard to do. No one is perfect, so I am not claiming perfection here...but I am claiming a job well done in a timely/respectful/affordable manner. read more

Stay as far away from this place as possible!!!! If it were possible to give them a negative 5 star rating I would!! I brought my car in for tires and an inspection. Two hours later they are calling me and telling me that it needs over $1200 in repairs to pass. I told them to put a rejection sticker on it and I would be back to pick it up. Upon my arrival they continued to try and pressure me into having them do the repairs. I told them that I had already talked with my mechanic and that he had agreed to do the repairs for under $300. On my way home the car felt like it was riding on 4 flat tires. I discovered missing lug nuts on the wheels. Obviously this was my "punishment" for not letting them stick it to me. I can't believe that they were willing to risk my life and the life of others simply because I wouldn't let them cheat me out of $1200 bucks. read more

I have been a customer for many years. It has been my experience over the years that I have to wait anywhere I've taken my car for service, even with appointments, so waiting is to be expected. However, these guys at this store work very hard to get the job done quickly and right the first time and if I'm not 100% satisfied, they make it right. Most highly recommended. read more

I go this Firestone versus the other 2 south roanoke stores. Mainly because they always try to upsell you on everything and feel that they have tried to take advantage of my wife when she has been there I the past. I bought some tires from them several years go, the store off of Hershberger and was treated great so I went back this time. Told the guy that I was not happy with the previous tires that I previously purchased and they did not last near the 60k mile warramty. Also I had a fairly new tires they replaced last year and since it was a discontinued tire I had to replace it. So to my surprise when I came back to pick up my vehicle they only charged me for 3 new tires and prorated the newer one on there...very happy and feel that they can be trusted. Never had tried to upsell me just point out things of concern so I know what's going on with my vehicle. Great experience and highly recommend them. read more

From the start I felt like I was seen as a bother to the staff. It took more than 2 minutes for someone to come into the lobby to help me, and even then they just looked at me, no greeting. I was told that my Virginia state vehicle safety inspection would take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. After going to get lunch then coming back to see all the workers slowly shuffling around and going to the soda machine or looking at their phones, I finally got a call 2.5 hours later (while I was in the lobby) telling me I could get my car in 45 minutes as they needed to reinstall all the wheels. I watched as they reinstalled the single wheel they took off and lowered my car off the lift within 5 minutes of the call. My car then sat there in the garage for another 25 minutes as people shuffled around it, leaned on it, and ignored it while just talking to each other and looking at their phones. My car was finally reversed out of the garage thus completing the 3+ hour ordeal. My invoice was handed over with no explanation and I was sent on my way. Maybe they would be able to complete services on time if they actually worked rather than shuffling around and visiting the soda machine. The lack of enthusiasm and customer service is appalling and I will never be visiting again. Horrible horrible experience. read more
