This review is for Advanced Auto Parts on 8603 Culebra. I just had come from AutoZone and was not happy at all. Did not get what I needed or wanted and felt like the cashier was very unhappy. I left feeling very against auto parts stores. I then went to Advanced auto at the location above. I was extremely happy with all the services. The employees were in great spirits. Everyone was professional and helpful. The team was paying attention to all customers not just some. The help was there and they seem to ensure that you were not feeling un helped or unwanted in the location. They were very informed on what they had and did use some resources when one item kept not being found. Needless to say I not only found the one main thing i was looking for but I now know where to find other things I will return for. I also noticed they worked not just alone but as a team. My battery was giving me some trouble so I went in to have it tested. The lady told me it was fine then printed a test receipt for me. She said it may be the alternator. Next morning, same thing so I took my car to another location. The guy helping me out actually took the time to test the battery and it sure enough was the battery. I will NEVER go to this advance auto again. Obviously these people don't know what they're doing or at least that lady didn't. The battery was originally from that location and I wonder if they just didn't want to replace it. Either way, horrible service! read more

Huge fan of Advance Auto Parts, and of this store in particular. I buy auto parts and accessories online, and pick them up at the store. If I didn't, I'd browse the store and empty my pockets there. Anyway, no matter how weird my orders are, the store (if they have the part) packs it up and has it ready for me when I pick it up. I say, "if they have the part" because only once have they NOT had the part. They had the part in less than an hour from a nearby store. Many times, you go to a retail auto parts store and the employees are just mystified by your requests. I have always received good advice here; a lot of times confirming what I already knew. If you like to tinker with cars or trucks, or just like to have a clean vehicle, I recommend this place for relatively common parts. read more

Got great help. My car won't start, in the rain. I got the battery at autozone, and I know I have warranty but remembered the wrong store at the moment and went to autoparts. The store helped us restart the car. And when I called autozone they said they can't help me with my car or refund me(b/c the rain, but we really needed the help). A few days ago, I started my car and felt a hesitation in the starting. When you have had your car for awhile, you know when something isn't right, you just have to pay attention to it. I decided to go to Auto Zone after work on sunday. As I was driving to the area in which I live, I passed Advance auto. I have never been to any of their stores. I thought since it was 6pm, they might be closed, but while driving by, I saw so many "free" signs that I thought why not turn around and see if they are open and the battery test would probably be free. They were open until 7pm, cool, didn't have to drive to AZ. I told the employee that I needed to test my battery due to a shaky start- which only happened one time. He was fast and really friendly. I felt like he was trying to help me because he cared and not because he was obligated. The battery tested good. I took about a second to ponder if that one delayed start was a fluke, but then I said to myself, no, that was a sign and I need to heed the warning. Before I could say "check the wires", the employee started wiggling the wires and the positive wire started moving. I had some tools in my trunk (socket set) but before I could start to get them, the employee took off into the store to get his tools. I just decided to let him do the work, he took so much pride in his work. he could have just said, here is your problem and left it at that. I like the way the employee, didn't just check the charge, he wanted to cover all bases. I am like him at my job, I am never satisfied until I can fully help my customers. I don't think there is a difference between Advance auto and Auto zone, as far as, parts, probably prices, but this store has my vote for well trained employees. Thanks. read more

I stopped at this location this afternoon since it was on my way home from work and I saw good reviews for it. I didn't get the whole "friendly" vibe that the previous reviews spoke of when I walked in. Staff just looked annoyed to me. There was 2 guys and one lady at the counter and the female asked if she could help me after I was waiting in line for a while with just one person in front of me being helped. I told her what I needed and she told me she was new I was like oh no problem. Well she needed some help pulling up the model of my car so she asked the guy on her left if he could help her and he flat out ignored her! So she waits until the dude on her right is done with his customer to ask him, he walks over to her laughing in a condescending manner, doesn't tell her what she needs to do but just does it for her and walks back to his register. Nothing against her at all, she was kind and eager to help. But because of the 2 rude, unprofessional dicks at this location I will never do business with Advance. I ended up going to AutoZone where I've never had a negative experience and I will continue to do so. Just thought I'd give this place a chance, oh well! I hope that lady quits and finds something better. read more
