They replaced the timing chain and not even 6 months and 5000 miles later it went out again. I was very nervous to take my truck in being that this is the first place besides for I was taking it too. Well, walking in I felt at ease. I walked into a very very clean waiting room greeted by a extremely nice guy named Carrie. Carrie is what sold me about bring my truck her. Talking to him about the problems and issues with my truck. He put my mind at ease that my truck will be ok and for a good price. While there i met a guy named Steve. Super nice guy. He was kind enough to give me a ride down the street to the store. I was unsure about what all was wrong with my F150. The thoroughness of the staff there found out all that was wrong with my truck. Quickly I received a phone call from Carrie and the explained in detail what was wrong with my truck. And I mean EVERYTHING, things that I wasn't aware of. He explained that he ordered parts, well brands that Ford uses on their trucks. And really covered everything for me. A few days later my truck was back to new. And I went in to pick it up. 100% recommend CORNERSTONE AUTOMOTIVE / CULEBRA My wife and I used to go to Cornerstone Automotive on Blanco Road before we moved to the west side of town. Michael and McCann were tremendous. To find out that there is a "sister" Cornerstone Automotive near our house was very comforting. Recently, my wife and I worked with Cary and Steve, the Owner. Both gentlemen were extremely professional and courteous. Cary, initially looked the car over and told us what needed to be done. 1 of the 2 things was urgent (the alternator) and without fixing that, the car would not run. The other thing was a leaking gasket, over the alternator. This repair was suggested, but we were told, it was not an urgent one - and it could be taken care of at a later time. Rather than insisting we do both at once, Cary insisted that they do the alternator for us and we drive the car for a bit to see if that was working OK. Doing both would have cost roughly $1300. But, for roughly $600, we could get the car running. We did drive the car for about a week, then returned to have the other repairs done. We know nothing about cars, almost literally! To have a mechanic that you can trust - in a field where people get taken advantage of all the time - means a lot. These folks are really truly honest and do great work. They could have easily told us we needed to do everything now, and also tell us that other things were "needed." They didn't. They did the bare minimum required for us to get back on the road. If you need a mechanic that you can trust and not take advantage of you, this is the place to go. Also, they do offer discounts for Military & First Responders. I think they also offer discounts for teachers and people in ministry (but check on that, don't take that to the bank). I do not believe they are affiliated with AAA, but their work is absolutely of the highest caliber you can get. read more

I'm very particular with where I'll bring my vehicles to be worked on, I came here one day to get tires on my work van and talked with Steve for a few minutes. After talking with him I knew this would be the shop I take my vehicles to for work that I can't do myself. I had my girlfriend bring my truck in yesterday for an alignment and although it's modified they did an amazing job getting it as accurate as possible, it no longer pulls to the left. I wanted to thank Steve and his crew for such an amazing service that they provided when they serviced my Accord! I had a squeaking noise coming from my left front wheel which only squeaked when in motion and turning left. I bought a new wheel hub and bearing thinking the wheel bearing was going out. I took it to Steve and what started as a $450 wheel bearing replacement became a $50 job after Joe realized it was just the dust shield for my brakes!! There was a lot more to this story, but for the sake of keeping it short...I couldn't recommend Cornerstone Automotive @ Culebra anymore! He refused to pay for damaged part and denied it was them that did it. Took my hummer for for what I thought were bad brakes because I heard heavy grinding. After diagnosing the car Anthony calls me and states I needed front brakes m, brake rotors and two wheel hubs. Wheels hubs $783.88, had the audacity to charge $24.99 for brake fluid as well. This guy is a joke and a thief. Total was $1441.33. I googled wheel hubs for my hummer and they are $150.00 at NAPA, and we all know that brake fluid cost around $5-10 depending on where you go. But wait he gave me a $50.00 parts Disciunt. Wow that's the least you could do before giving it to me raw. Well I'm no idiot and I don't know much about cars but I had a friend recommend Vern's Auto Repair. I took my truck there and he tells me that all I needed was to have my rotors resurfaced and two wheel hubs. Guess what he charged me? $714.01 more ham half of what this Bozo was going to get me for. Ladies and gents anthony from Cornerstone comes off as someone who cares and acts genuine however that's his way of gaining your trust before he decided to screw you over. I only brought my car to Cornerstone automotive once, after taking it to another mechanic, he discovered that during an oil change, a cornerstone employee cross-threaded the oil pan plug, tried a larger plug, then tried putting silicone around it to stop the leak... all without success. My mechanic had to drill out the hole and glued an insert in to correct the mess. It's holding for now, but if it fails, he will have to replace the oil pan. No good mechanic would have tried to plug a mistake with silicone. I'm the most frustrated that I was never told about this mistake. I won't go back. read more

We took our truck in for an air conditioning problem. They diagnosed it as a compressor problem and quoted us 1,366.39. The next day we called them to get a status update and was told the following: without checking with us they ordered a 120.00 hose, which was going to be above and beyond the estimate. After we objected to the price, they were able to fix it, without the new hose. Once we arrived, to pick up the truck, found a fresh 4 inch scratch on the back of our truck. Everyone denied they had anything to do with it, and then the conversation deteriated with the manager and mechanic. They made us feel like they were doing us a favor by fixing our vehicle, even though it was 1,366.39. I was very uncomfortable with my experience and would not recommend this place. Now we have to go to a body shop to get our truck repaired. read more

Chose this place over others because of the good reviews, but I was disappointed. Made an appointment for a Friday at 1200 to remove a nail from my tire and patch it up. Dropped the vehicle off around 1145. I didn't have a ride so I just went to the sushi place next door. Came back around 1230 and they didn't even start. I sat around and waited until 1:30 before they were finally finished. For something simple with an appointment it should not have taken nearly as long. read more
