I've been meaning to find a new mechanic and eventually did, and am glad that I made the move. What really was the straw that broke the camels back was that on my last visit they said my rotors were low and recommended a replacement (that was not cheap). I was actually pretty surprised by this as I had replaced my rotors (with them) earlier and I expected to get more miles out of them. So either: 1. they sold me poor quality rotors 2. I'm tracking my car and being aggressive on the brakes (nope...its a minivan) 3. I don't actually need rotors Turns out it was #3... I actually got the car up on jack stands after bringing it home, took off the wheels and measured the rotors with a pair of calipers. Plenty of life left.

For anyone whose not familiar with AutoZone, they sell auto parts and accessories for all kinds of vehicles -all makes & models - they pretty much have it all. Their site says they offer delivery and curbside order/pickup for same day but I'm not too familiar with those services since I usually just run in. This time I needed oil for my Benz. I ran in to pick up a quart yesterday which was very easy to find in the store nonetheless. The unfortunate side was that the oil costed me $10 for the quart certainly far from a bargain when it's much cheaper in other stores (ie Walmart). On a separate note, I suppose paying a few extra bucks for convenience is nothing to scoff at especially in these Covid times. Yes, I'm grateful for smaller stores with less customers and this is one of them. The downside was waiting in line. It literally took about 10-15 minutes for me to check out with just 2 customers ahead of me. I get it...patience is everything in a store that sells auto parts. I had to remind myself the employees need to service their customers in a way to make sure they give them the right item(s) for their vehicle. I've been grateful for past experiences when i literally walked into their store and told them my car info and what I needed and they pulled up the item on their computer, went to their stock room, brought it out and I've purchased it. It's unfortunate though if you're anything like me and looking to grab a quick item hoping to be out in 2 minutes- Ummmmm not gonna happen...at least not in the Union location. To make matters even worse is when you hear a female employee on a personal call just a few feet away speaking very loudly about her personal business. I'm thinking "don't they have a break room?" I feel like they should have a quick check-out line for those who just need to pick up an item or two and don't need further assistance...but with only 2 employees available in the store, I suppose that's not feasible...just wishful thinking. I'll be back apprehensively. As I've mentioned this location is close to me even though it's a slight headache at times. Next time maybe I'll look into curbside pick up.
